St. Charles-St. Ann Parish
Twenty Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 13, 2015
For Grandparents
“People today listen more to witnesses than to teachers. And when we listen to teachers, it is because they are
witnesses.” - Pope Paul VI
· Tell your grandchildren what it was like when you were growing up– the challenges, the simple pleasures
(life with out computers or gadgets.)
· Tell stories of what it meant to follow Jesus and be a Catholic. Show them your first Rosary, prayer book,
Holy Communion or Confirmation pictures. Talk to them about what this item or event meant to you.
· Pray with them when you invite them over for their favorite foods.
· Tell them what you love most about your spouse and their parents.
· Write them a note while away at college, assuring them of your prayers with them. Instruct them about how
to turn to God when things get tough.
· Ask them about how they live the Works of Mercy each day:
· Feed the hungry
· Give drink to the Thirsty
· Clothe the naked
· Shelter the Homeless
· Care for the sick
· Visit prisoners
· Bury the dead

With the recent release of undercover videos exposing the atrocities occurring at abortion centers around the country, many are wondering what they can do. 40 Days for Life is an effective and peaceful way to fight this spiritual battle! From Sept. 23- Nov. 1, you’re invited to join other Christians for 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion. You’re also invited to come peacefully pray for an hour during a 40-day vigil in the public right-of-way outside of the Planned Parenthood abortion center (1120 E. Genesee St.). For more infor-mation, please contact: Jeanie Owens 956-7772, Shannon Guy 664-5067, or go to 40daysforlife.com/syracuse.

RESPECT LIFE
As religious people, we know that human life is our first gift
from a loving Father and the condition for all other earthly
goods. We know that no human government can legitimately
deny the right to life or restrict it to certain classes of human
beings. Therefore, the Court’s abortion decisions deserve only
to be condemned, repudiated and ultimately reversed.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
If we want to be happy at home, we must commit ourselves to
our family. If we try to be independent from others we end up
lonely and alone. Happiness is found in com-
mitments.
