Erin and Ryan… Erin, I understand you and Ryan met on a jobsite? Yes, I am an architect and Ryan was a general contractor on one of my projects. Over time, he began little hints of fl irtation in emails….the rest is history!

How did he propose? We were in the process of moving and had come to the house one night to paint. He was just acting weird!! Finally….he got down on one knee and gave me a small palm tree…our fi rst date had been at the Palm restaurant. Then, he proposed. It was perfect. Just us, nothing fancy.

I love your colors! How did you select them?I really, really love simple white with pops of color. I love hot pink and I love whimsical things, as well.

What about something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?My grandmother’s pearls (which I had borrowed from my sister) were on my bouquet and I wore a blue garter. Everything else was new!

Please tell us about your fabulous wedding gown.It was relatively simple, but I loved it! It was drop waist strapless gown with ruching on the side and a fun fl ower attached. I had an ostrich feather in my hair and wore fuchsia heels!

Any fun memories…Well , you know that we had goldfi sh at the wedding…

The Robin Report:The bride’s personality and style are refl ected in her fl owers. They should

coordinate with her wedding dress, bridesmaid colors and venue. While fashion tends to dictate style and color, as a bride, make sure you add your own personal touches to the bouquet.

Vintage & Romantic Use soft feminine colors such as creams, pastels, ivory, lavender, pinks and

soft yellows using both large and small blooms such as hydrangea, garden roses and peonies, ranunculus, lisianthus and anomies. Whether combined with others or used independently, the look is soft and ample.

Natural Wildflower and Rustic ChicFor a just picked look, use a different variety of grasses and berries, plus

fl owers such as sunfl owers, delphinium, roses or Queen Ann’s Lace. Adding in different textures like dusty miller and kale leaves adds variety and interest.

Playful and BrightColors such as hot pink, purple and orange not only provide a modern

appeal, they also create a fun and playful ambiance. When using a brilliant color you may also consider a more neutral accent shade to help the primary color stand out. By mixing different hues a vibrant bouquet is created.

Brooch BouquetsBrooch Bouquets are an emergent trend that is taking hold! They are elegant,

eclectic and are able to match a variety of wedding styles from vintage to traditional and beyond! You might personalize the bouquet with your mother’s or grandmother’s jewelry to make it your very own and very special bridal bouquet.
