Our program„made for your success“From Acetylene to Xenon, the Messer Groupoffers much more than just the gases required. Our know-how on the subject of "gas" is bothcomprehensive and specialized, offering a key tooptimization of processes from the point of viewof quality, economy and innovation.

Messer offers an extensive product range of puregases, standard mixtures and, on customerrequest, individually produced gas mixtures innearly any technically possible composition.

The same applies for the forms of delivery: Froma cylinder to a tube trailer or an on-site productionon the customer´s plant. We can help to find thesupply variant which best meets the individualrequirements. Gases can be supplied in liquid orgaseous form, in the quantities requested and inprecisely the quality needed. We supply specialtygases in quantities from a pressure can up to a300 bar cylinder bundle. Of course, you will alsofind the corresponding hardware in our portfoliofor the optimum use and application of ourproducts.

You can profit from this whether you are at homein the world of automotives, food, chemicals, petrochemicals, metallurgy, environmentaltechnology, electronics, medicine or weldingtechnology.

Discover our efficiency for your success!

Specialty gases ...… from „A“ for Analysisto „X“ for Xenon lampsCompanies which choose specialty gases fromMesser can not only rely on the highest qualitystandards, but also profit from a problem-solvingcompetence which is proved every day by theexperts from Messer, together with theircustomers. Added to this is a product range justas varied as the applications for specialty gases.

Experience is the keyIt is only through their applications that gasesbecome useful. Helium, for example, is used ingaseous form to fill balloons or, cryogenicallyliquefied, to cool the superconductors inmagnetic resonance tomographs. Of coursethese two applications make completely differentdemands on the product, the delivery form, thehardware used and the service provided. Theexperts from Messer, together with thecustomer, work out the optimum concept foreach application. Additional there is the perfectsupply of the gases you require. The range of solutions here spans from a gasmixture in a pressure can to a pure gas in atrailer, from technical grade to 6.0 quality.

For safe and efficient operation, today manytechnologies require pure gases or standard gasmixtures. Thus, the output performance of anexcimer or CO2 laser depends to a great extenton the quality of the operating gases used. Lightbulbs as we know them would be unimaginablewithout inert gases. Special characteristics areobtained here by the selection of the gasesemployed. Xenon lamps or Argon or Kryptonfilled insulating glass windows are just two otherexamples.

The highest demands are also made on thegases, for example, when they are used for theoperation of highly sensitive analyticalinstruments in environmental analysis, safetytechnology or quality assurance. Most of theanalytical instruments in use today operatecomparatively, like the balance scales often seenin street markets in the old days. Just as theserequire precise weights in order to weighcorrectly, high precision gas mixtures withdefined compositions are used to calibrate theinstruments. Of course the highest precision isalso essential for the lowest concentrations.

On the basis of its many years of experience inthe manufacturing and analysis of gas mixtures,Messer is in a position to deliver virtually any gasmixture in the desired composition and to therequired precision. The concentrations of themost important components here are based oninternational reference standards. Optionally, calibration gases can also be supplied with acertificate from an accredited laboratory.

You can obtain brochures from Messer on thefollowing subjects:

High-purity gases•Gas mixtures – specifically for your application •Gas supply systems and components forspecialty gases

Helium – the special element•Balloon gas•CANgas, the "smaller" alternative•Gas purification systems - for the highest levelof purity

Process gases for analytical applications•Handling of gases - safety instructions•Accreditation•Environmental control•

Knowing how it is doneThe manufacturing of specialty gases comprisesseveral stages, from cylinder pretreatment tofilling technology and analysis. Only well-foundedknow-how in each individual area and securecontrol of the whole process chain allow theconstant high quality of Messer products.

Specialty gases also demand special know-howin their application. For example, in order to makesure that the required quality from the storagevessel actually reaches the application, specialprecautions are necessary in the installations. Notevery valve, although proven in the technicalfield, can also be used for specialty gases. But,here too, the experts from Messer stand by theircustomers with advice and assistance.
