Pronunciation-English Vowels
These letters are vowels in English– A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y
The letter Y can be a vowel or a consonant– Examples--cry, sky, yellow, yacht
Vowels can have different “lengths”– Example – bite vs bit
There are about 20 different ways to pronounce the 5 vowels in English!

• 5 vowels are always the same
• Combinations of vowels are almost always pronounced separately
