School Community Awareness- Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is a severe and sometimes sudden allergic reaction. It occurs when a person is exposed to an allergen. Anaphylaxis is potentially life threatening and always requires an emergency response. We have two students that will be enrolled at our school next year. One student is allergic to egg and the other student to nuts. The reactions have been evident when students have ingested food containing these products. To support our students health requirements parents are asked to discuss the following with their child:

Students are not to share food with other students

Encourage students to wash their hands before and after eating.

Products from the canteen have been amended, eg. no egg sandwiches to support the safety of our students.
