Class Size Limited to 40 Course Description: This course will consist of instruction to law enforcement on how they can educate their communities on being safe in places of worship. Instructor: Wayne Freeman Wayne Freeman has been a law enforcement officer for 22 years and is the South Carolina Active Shooter Training Coordinator. He is a Special Agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, assigned to the Training Division. Past assignments include: special operations, firefighter, EMT, SWAT, SWAT medic, tactical flight officer, explosives K-9 handler, bloodhound tracking team, hazardous materials response, WMD team member, fugitive operations, DARE Officer, SRO, community action team, and many others. His active shooter experience includes: SCAASCAT Instructor, ALERRT 1 Instructor, ALERRT 2 Instructor, LASER Instructor, PACOP Instructor, MACTAC, CRASE Instructor, NTOA Active Shooter Instructor, GTI Immediate Action Team, Blue Line Active Shooter Response, and several other response training programs. He has trained with personnel from Columbine, the San Ysidro McDonalds Shooting, Virginia Tech, the Greenwood SC Shooting, Trolley Square, Platte Canyon, the Naval Yard Shooting, Sandy Hook, and many others. He has trained more than 20,000 students in active shooter response and is the author of the South Carolina active shooter training manual.
