HASHTAG

A hashtag is a word or phrase describing the content or context of your post that helps people find it more easily. It doesn’t give any person a notification of what you’ve posted. It only increases the visibility of that post for people looking at that phrase. A hashtag is used by typing the “#” symbol preceding the word or phrase. The text will turn blue and become a hyperlink. Try #cbmasonmorse - Think of it like, “I’ll put this picture in this folder so it’s easy to find.”

EXAMPLES:

Mentioning a person or business in a post is called tagging them. A tag identifies a person or brand and notifies them they’re being talked about. A tag is not a hashtag! A tag is used by typing the “at” symbol (@) preceding a person’s or company’s name. Their name will turn blue and become a hyperlink. Try @cbmasonmorse - Think of it like, “Tag! I’m talking to YOU!”
