National Child Labour Programme

Implementation of NCLP by SNBS

Since, the task of upliftment and development of marginalized section of the Indian society has become

more challenging with the liberalization and modernization of the economy and growing need of

human development and its proper deployment therefore, during the past four-year phase, SNBS

focused its efforts in two specific directions - engaging systems, community and community

representatives to ensure sustainable outcomes; and replication of successful practices in other areas on

a broader scale.

In view of above, SNBS started two special child labor schools (with 100 child labor boy as well as girl

students) from 1st of November 2012, in two different slums of Agra with the objective of providing

protection and education to working children (Child Labor) in coordination with Labor Department,

Agra under National Child Labor Project.

SNBS took the task to educate those children who are exploited at their working places. The teachers of

the child labour schools of SNBS are engaged to develop their moral as well as intellectual skills so

that they can stand at their own feet, learn and understand the better ways of means and life and can be

grown up as best citizens of our Country.

Achievement up till March 2014

special child labour schools located in two different slums of Agra City i.e. Gadi Bhadoria and Nagla

Aan Prasan: In this ceremony the child is given

semisolid food. The food is rice pudding which

is neither drinks nor food, is popular and liked

by the child. The ingredients of pudding are

honey, butter, basil leaf and holy water .It is

been served to the child and then semi solids are

started to the Child in it meal. Usually it is

started at the age of 7 mths of the child. As stated

in the scriptures that timely starting of the

semisolids will increase the intelligence, and

personality. As per Rituals our Mind, Character

and Personality depends according to our Food.

God Bharai: God Bharai is an interesting

north Indian Hindu ceremony which is

also performed in other parts of the

country. In Bengal it is known as Shaad,

in Kerala the ceremony is

called Seemandham and in Tamil Nadu

the Valakappu is the equivalent of the God

Bharai. In Hindi God Bharai literally

means to „fill the lap‟ with

abundance.GOD BARAI is doing When a

pregnant woman has completed seven

months of gestation period, the baby is

assumed to be viable and in a safe phase.

So, the celebration is usually at the end of

the seventh month or in the eighth month

to welcome the little one to the family and

literally fill the “mother-to-be‟s” lap with

gifts and fruits to bless her with the

abundant joys of motherhood.
