Sri.Anil Kumar a farmer of Adivala

The MOTHER should had implemented the project 10 years early...my 12 acre land which was considered as waste, has converted into fertile land due to RIDF Sujala Project’s Soil and water conserva-tion activities. Now expecting good yield in Ragi cultivated in 12 acre.

Sri Gopalappa, Doddenahally

I am a marginal farmer with 1.2 acre dry land. Under TDF pro-ject I planted 20 mango, 20 sapota & 400 forestry seed-lings. Now along with horticul-ture yield and I am earning from forestry also. This time I sold forestry plants cuttings worth of Rs.8500/-and using leaves as green manure. TDF project focused on allround de-velopment of farmers through orchard and IGA pro-grams.

Sri T.Prakash S/o Thimmarayappa, Balenahally

I felt happy when Organic program entered our village. Because I believe Mother earth. Even a feed of 15 tractor load manure (worth of Rs.60000) made 2 acre areca nut plant leaves yellowish and nuts were breaking. I was dis-turbed. Under organic program I attended all the trainings and exposures. Now I am a model farmer with bio-digester, jeevamrutha, liquid manure, local cows, azolla, honey bee keeping, japan model composting etc. I am feeding liquid manure obtaining from biodigester for my areca nut plantation. Very important to say is now Rs.60000/- is saved and leaves remained green and breaking of nuts reduced. Organic farming is showing a new way to my agriculture life.

Smt Gowramma, Katanaya-kanahally

I planted 20 Mango, 20 sapota & 20 Coconut seed-lings under Sujala RIDF Pro-ject. MOTHER staff guided me about maintenance. But all my struggles in feeding water went in vain, because of severe drought. Only 18 coconut and 1 sapota sur-vived. I have not lose the hope, I will plant again in my own cost.

Sri Subbarayappa, Doddena-hally

We laughed when orchard development under TDF project explained by MOTHER. Today it has created wonders with dry land horticulture. Last year I earned 2500 Rs from 500 kg mango yield and this year Rs.1800 from 150 kg sapota yield and expecting good yield in mango. Hope to get more in future.

Smt Thayamma, Balenahally

I am getting 4 quintal vermin compost 3 months once. I am feeding the same to areca nut planta-tion since 11/2 years. Now my plants are green and soil structure has been changed. Soil is so smooth and getting good yield also. And earth worms are every-where in my orchard. Hence I decided to sale vermin com-post in future.

Sri Nagaraju B, Jogaiahnapalya

Ours is a joint family with 60 acre land. Salughattenala WDF project is a

beautiful project with employ-ment creation and women de-

velopment activities. Entire area is covered by soil and wa-

ter conservation activities. Im-pact can be seen through increased

yield and we are expecting increase in ground water level.

Sri Tataramaiah, Hunasekatte

Soil fertility has been increased after imple-mentation of soil and water conservation activities. My land is yielding 1.5 Q Jowar in place of 0.5 Q, 1Q channa yield in-creased to 2 Q. Water holding capacity is also improved. This is all because of Salughatte Nala WDF project.
