Should make the entries soon in a maiden turf sprint, probably most comfortable under those conditions. 5/3 SA 5f :59.3hg B- In company inside maiden Big Mel (same time) in gate drill for Baffert and was ridden along most of the way to be second best by about a length when pulled up at the furlong pole, splits of :24.1, :35.3, :47.3 and 1:00 flat on our watches, okay move but nothing to get terribly excited about. Probably a better type on grass. 3/22 SA 5f 1:00.1h B In company outside A Thousand Words (same time) for Baffert and went stride-for-stride throughout with neither one being asked much at any stage, splits of :23.3. :35.1 and 1:00.1, solid work for maiden facing a graded stakes colt. Hasn't been all that impressive in the p.m. so far but continues to train like a colt with decent ability. Best race so far has been on the front end going a mile on grass (at Del Mar) and should return in a similar type race soon. 2 2 Too Late Mario Gutierrez Doug O'Neill 15/1 5/18 SA 5f 1:01.1h B- In company with Hammering Lemon (5f, 1:01.3h) and was best for O'Neill, splits of :23 flat and :48.4 for the final half mile, coasting in the final stages in decent style for a maiden. Has only one way to go, on the lead for as far as he can carry it. Seeking another maiden turf sprint. 5/4 SA 5f 1:00.1hg B- Much best in gate drill with Anzie Princess (5f, 1:03.3hg) with splits of :23.3, :35.2, :47.3 and 1:00.1, mild coaxing throughout, useful move for Square Eddie colt. Has his speed but has been very suspect in the stamina department so far. 1 1 Still in the Game Mario Gutierrez Ben Cecil 8/13/25 SA 6f 1:15.1h C+ Came the final half mile while being ridden through the lane in :24.3 and :50.2, workmanlike move for Cecil. Looks about

2 2 Divine Armor Abel Cedillo John Sadler 8/5

3 3 Muralist Flavien Prat Dan Blacker 2/15/11 SA 5f 1:02.1hg B- Gate work with Next Revolt (same time, see below), and after breaking slowly moved up outside to be breezing

throughout, soft splits, head-and-head most of the way but appearing the stronger of the two when eased up at the furlong pole. Speed figures have steadily risen with every start and should bet set for another good try vs. older maidens.

4 4 Believe Now Victor Espinoza Michael McCarthy 5/2

5 5 Future Vision Mike Smith Michael McCarthy 8/14/26 SA 5f 1:01.4h C+ Worked inside Sandal (same time) for M. McCarthy and was asked a bit through the lane to be slightly second best,

splits of :11.4 and :37.1 for the final three furlongs. Orb gelding doesn't look like anything special at this stage.

6 6 Next Revolt Assael Espinoza Dan Blacker 15/1 5/11 SA 5f 1:02.1hg B- In gate work with Muralist (same time), splits of :25.2, :37.3, :49.2 and 1:02 flat, hard held early and then under light

late coaxing, nothing fancy but a decent drill for Blacker. Lugged out in comeback up north but seemed to go straight and true in two subsequent drills. Can improve.

5/4 SA 4f :48.4h B- In company inside Fantastic Day (4f, :48.2h) for Blacker, slightly best at the wire after breaking off a couple of lengths in front, splits of :11.4 and :36.1 for the final three furlongs, never really asked much. Looks decent and may be a bit better than his from indicates. Could improve routing.

 Race #3 Allowance Optional Claiming - 1M T

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS WHICH HAVE NEVER WON $15,000 OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING OR STARTER OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR OPTIONAL CLAIMING PRICE OF $80,000. Weight, 122 lbs. Non-winners Of A Race Other Than Claiming, Or Starter At A Mile Or Over Allowed 2 lbs.

1 1 Liar Liar [IRE] Umberto Rispoli Richard Baltas 9/55/18 SA 4f :49.3h TT B- Half mile training track drill for Baltas, final three furlongs in :36.4, chirped to a bit but no real pressure. Holds his form,

seeking another first-level allowance turf miler.

2 2 Distant Vista [Ire] Flavien Prat Philip D'Amato 5/25/17 SA 5f 1:01.4h TT B+ In a three-horse team drill on training track for D'Amato inside with Tiny Tina (5f, 1:01.2h TT, broke off a few lengths

behind) and Too Hot for Curlin (5f, 1:02.3h TT) and was much best, cruising through the lane to be well clear of the others, splits of :25 flat, :37 flat and 1:02 flat on our watches looking eager and fairly fit. Will be adding Lasix for U.S debut and should be very live first time out.

5/4 SA 4f :49.3h TT B In blinkers, broke off a few lengths behind More Whiskey (same time) in training track drill for D'Amato, and easily out-finished that one in the final stages despite altering course outside to avoid a galloper, splits of :12.1 and :36.2 for the final three furlongs, strong in the final stages, nice drill. Acclimating well, has all of his conditions.

4/20 SA 3f :34.4h TT B In blinkers, outside Tina's Exchange (4f, :35h, TT) for D'Amato, breaking off a length behind and then finishing stride-for-stride at the wire though perhaps a tad second best, splits of :11.2 and :34.4, very quick move for Irish import. Won over the all-weather in December but probably didn't beat a whole lot. Curious to see how he'll fit on this circuit.

3 3 The Stiff Geovanni Franco Michael McCarthy 10/1

4 4 Margot's Boy Drayden Van Dyke Craig Lewis 5/2

5 5 Best Chance Victor Espinoza John Sadler 12/1 5/13 SA 4f :48.1h TT B- In company outside Jurgen (same time) for Sadler, and was ridden some through the lane to appear a tad second best,

final quarter in a solid :24 flat. Graduated for a high priced maiden tag last time out, will need to improve to be effective on the raise vs. non-winners of two, but seems to be doing well enough.

6 6 Indian Peak Abel Cedillo Quinn Howey 4/1

 Race #4 Allowance Optional Claiming - 1M D

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Kristi's Tiger Brice Blanc Thomas Bell, II 10/1 5/7 SA 5f 1:03.2h B Just cruising outside Our Bonnie Lass (same time), nice, relaxed, and eager, splits of :12.3, :24.4 and :50.1 from the half

mile pole to the wire for R, Bell. Steadily improving with experience and should be competitive on the raise.

2 2 Tiz Wonderfully Tiago Pereira James Cassidy 5/1

3 3 Shanghai Barbie Victor Espinoza J. Desormeaux 12/1

4 4 Scarlet Heat Flavien Prat Dan Blacker 5/2

5 5 Perfect Ice Storm Drayden Van Dyke Peter Eurton 4/15/4 SA 5f 1:01.2h B- In company inside with Warrior's Moon (same time) for Eurton, a bit rank early but then settling and finishing without

any coaxing, head-and-head at the wire, final half mile in :12.2, :24.1 and :48.4 on our watches. Easily disposed of a soft claiming field last time out and should be competitive on the raisse.

Page 3: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Saturday, May 23rd · PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L 1 1 Kristi's Tiger Brice Blanc Thomas Bell, II 10/1 5/7 SA 5f 1:03.2h B Just cruising

6 6 Charmingslew Umberto Rispoli Neil French 7/2

7 7 Tiz A Master Ruben Fuentes Richard Baltas 3/15/16 SA 4f :47.2h B+ In company inside Czechmight (4f, :47.1h), breaking off a couple of lengths in front and maintaining that margin to the

wire while breezing and looking sharp (workmate asked, no match). Baltas-trained filly ran well in comeback and should perform at least as well if not better vs. similar next time out.

 Race #5 - Daytona S. Stakes - 5 1/2F T

FOR FOUR-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD. By subscription of $100 each to accompany the nomination, closed with 17 or by supplementary nomination of $2,000 at time of entry. $750 to enter and an additional $750 to start with $100,000 guaranteed of which $60,000 to the winner, $20,000 to second, $12,000 to third, $6,000 to fourth and $2,000 to fifth.

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Sparky Ville Geovanni Franco Jeff Bonde 20/1 5/3 SA 5f 1:02.2h C+ Solo five furlong drill for Bonde-trained gelding, mild coaxing through the lane, final half mile in :24.1 and :49 flat, not

terribly exciting. Was overmatched in San Simeon S. last time out, needs a class drop,

2 2 Stubbins Umberto Rispoli Doug O'Neill 3/1

3 3 Murad Khan [FR] Abel Cedillo Doug O'Neill 10/1 5/1 SA 5f 1:02.1h B- Worked inside Rookie Mistake (5f, 1:01.4h) for O'Neill, breaking off about two lengths in front and then finishing a head

back at the wire, never really under any coaxing, steady drill with splits of :25.2, :37.3 and 1:02.2 on our watches, not too bad. Clearly more comfortable on grass, seems to be holding his form.

4 4 Blameitonthelaw Drayden Van Dyke Ronald Ellis 20/1

5 5 Cistron Victor Espinoza John Sadler 5/25/16 SA 5f :59.1h B+ Solo five furlong drill for Sadler, coming wide off the turn but never really being asked at any stage, final half mile in :23

flat and :47.2, sharp drill. Holds his edge, tough on any surface.

6 6 Wildman Jack Mike Smith Doug O'Neill 2/15/8 SA 5f 1:02.3h B- In blinkers, in company outside Rookie Mistake (same time) for O'Neill and did okay while never being asked although

leaning in just a bit through the lane, final quarter in :24.4. Was a good winner in Dubai when able to establish a clear lead and similar gate to wire tactics likely will employed in next scheduled start in the Daytona S.

7 7 Texas Wedge Flavien Prat Peter Miller 3/1

 Race #6 Claiming - 6F D

4 4 Way too Sweet Aaron Gryder Mike Puype 3/15/9 SA 5f 1:02.2h C Worked inside Bella Chica (5f, 1:02h) for Puype, breaking off a couple of lengths in front but getting out-finished close

home while under urging (workmate never asked), splits of :24.2 and :50 flat for the final half mile, not inspiring. Was overmatched lat time out in January, should return in a much softer spot.

5 5 At the Margin Victor Flores Jairo Monascal 30/1

6 6 Diamond of Value Agapito Delgadillo Alfredo Marquez 6/15/17 SA 5f 1:03.2h C- Broke off a few lengths in front of Storming Lady (5f, 1:02.2h) but had nothing for the final furlong and faded readily

despite urging, final three furlongs in :12 flat and :38.1. Hard to endorse.

7 7 Drop the Mic Edwin Maldonado Gus Headley 6/15/13 SA 5f 1:02.1h B- Worked inside with the unamed [dam-Thriving Ivory) (5f, 1:01.4h) for G. Headley, breaking off a few lengths in front and

then finishing down the lane head-and-head under a decent sort of hold (workmate asked late), final three furlongs in :12 flat and :37.1, nice drill for a modest claiming mare. Freshened since the fall, New Mexico invader seems in good shape and should be competitive off the bench in the proper spot.

 Race #7 Starter Optional Claiming - 5 1/2F D

FOR FILLIES THREE YEARS OLD WHICH HAVE STARTED FOR A CLAIMING PRICE OF $50,000 OR LESS AND WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR CLAIMING PRICE $40,000. Weight, 122 lbs. Non-winners Of A Race Since December 31 Allowed 2 lbs.

1 1 Sugar Pickel Abel Cedillo Peter Eurton 6/15/8 SA 4f :50h B- Broke off several lengths in front of Silenced (4f, :48.4h) for Eurton and finished down the lane with that one while holding

on by a head without really being asked much, a bit better work that the sluggish final time might indicate, final three furlongs in :12.4 and :36.4, nice finish. Doing well, probably will appreciate a turn back in trip.

2 2 Rstars and Stripes Jorge Velez Steve Knapp 12/1 5/8 SA 4f :49.4h B- Solo half mile drill for Knapp, splits of :12 flat and :37 flat for the final three furlongs, no real urging, okay drill. Both main

track races were good, stick to dirt, seeking another starter's allowance sprint.

3 3 Bluegrass Sky Evin Roman Mark Glatt 12/1

4 4 Biddy Duke Aaron Gryder Andrew Lerner 4/1

5 5 Vegan Agapito Delgadillo William Spawr 12/1

6 6 Too Much Heaven Umberto Rispoli Peter Eurton 4/14/23 SA 4f :50h C+ Worked inside Dynasty of Her Own (5f, 1:00.2h, out to 7/8 pole) for Eurton and was match while carrying her head high,

final three furlongs in :11.4 and :36.3 Not a bad work according to the watch but needs to learn to lower her head and lengthen out.

1 1 Desert Stone [IRE] Abel Cedillo Richard Baltas 8/15/17 SA 4f :49.3h TT B- In blinkers, solo half mile training track drill for Baltas, strictly on his own, final quarter in :25 flat. Maintains his form but

probably needs a class drop to find his winning level.

2 2 Multiplier Drayden Van Dyke Peter Miller 10/1

3 3 Bold Endeavor Mike Smith George Papaprodromou 20/1

4 4 Synthesis Geovanni Franco George Papaprodromou 30/1

5 5 United Flavien Prat Richard Mandella 6/55/15 SA 7f 1:26.3h B+ In company inside Parkour (7f, 1:27.1h) for Mandella and was best under a light hand ride (workmate asked a bit through

the lane), splits of :24.1, :36.1, 1:01.1 and 1:14.2 from the 5/8ths to the 7/8ths on our watches. Dead fit, looks good, tolerates dirt in the a.m, but is tons better on the sod. Ready to roll in the C. Whittingham S.

5/8 SA 7f 1:28h B In company inside Tizamagician (same time) for Mandella and was in a breeze every step of the way to appear a tad the best, final three furlongs in :12.3 and :38.1 in steady drill. Getting cranked up, lightly-raced (just 12 starts) gelding should have a big year in long distance turf events.

6 6 Originaire [IRE] Umberto Rispoli Jeff Mullins 5/25/14 SA 5f 1:02.1h B+ Was joined from the outside by Quicker (5f, 1:01.2h) for Mullins and was breezing throughout, shrugging off workmate

close home to finish with a ton left, final half mile in :24.1 and :49 flat. Looks sharp as a tack and although somewhat pace dependent should fire a bit shot in the Whittingham S.

7 7 Rockemperor [IRE] Irad Ortiz, Jr. Chad Brown 5/2

2 2 Vodka Twist Edwin Maldonado Neil Drysdale 5/15/18 SA 5f 1:02.1h TT B Solo five furlong training track drill for Drysdale, hard held and a bit rank early, then settled midway and finished own

his own courage, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :36 flat, nice enough. Dull form, but should improve with bottom-rung maiden claimers on dirt.

3 3 Fabio Assael Espinoza George Papaprodromou 20/1 5/3 SA 4f :49.3hg C+ Outside Winning Prospect (same time) in gate drill without ever being asked much, splits of :24.4, :36.4 and :49.2 with

blinkers on. Was off slowly and had no clue in debut but isn't a hopeless case. May improve but needs softest maiden claimers available.

4 4 My Journey Abel Cedillo Richard Baltas 4/14/30 SA 4f :47.4h B- Ridden some through the lane and did okay, splits of :23.3 and :47.4 for Baltas in short drill for bottom-rung maiden

claimer. Has his speed in the a.m. but doesn't seem to want to finish when it matters. Seeking another soft spot.

(workmate not asked much), final half mile in :23.4 and :50.1. Seems about the same, need soft maiden claimers.

9 9 Dr. Hoffman Flavien Prat Mark Glatt 7/25/8 SA 4f :46.4hg B- In blinkers, was asked hard in solo gate drill for Glatt, splits of :23.2, :34.4 and :46.4, not bad for a cheap type. Was in

over his head in debut on grass vs. high priced maiden claimers and seems likely to improve when dropped to the bottom. Likely to show good early speed (at least) if he breaks with his field.

SCR - Beaumont Beaux SCRATCHED5/3 SA 6f 1:16hg C+ In gate drill outside Hard Pass (6f, 1:16.1h, broke poorly) and was a tad the best under mild urging through the lane,

splits of :25.4, :37.3, :50 flat and 1:15.4 on our watches. Not terrible but needs real soft maiden claimers (and probably a distance of ground) to have any shot on this circuit.
