Fair at best, maiden claiming type. 2/17 SA 4f :49.3h C+ Inside with Inch (4f, :49.2h) and was noticeably second best, almost a length back at the wire while being ridden in the final furlong (workmate breezing), final three furlongs in :37.1. High priced maiden claimer probably prefers turf or synthetic. 3 3 I Give Up Eswan Flores Hector Palma 5/1 4 4 Awesome Drive Jose Valdivia, Jr. Andrew Lerner 12/1 2/1 SA 4f :49h C+ In blinkers, a bit high headed but was breezing early and not really asked late, splits of :24.2 and :49.2 on our watches for Lerner. Been away since February, eligible to return in a moderate maiden affair. 12/12 SA 4f :49.4h TT B Nice mover in C. Gaines barn was never asked, plenty left, final quarter mile in :24.2 in solo training track drill. Coming back well but needs to be realistically spotted. 2/6 SA 5f 1:02h B- In company outside Caerulean (same time) for Cecil and finished stride-for-stride with that one through the lane, splits of :37 flat and 1:02 flat, never really asked at any stage. 12/12 SA 4f :49.4h TT B Nice mover in C. Gaines barn was never asked, plenty left, final quarter mile in :24.2 in solo training track drill. Doing well, seven-race maiden hasn't been out since February but looks good off the bench.

7 7 Diva in Charge Rafael Bejarano Peter Eurton 12/1 2/14 SA 5f 1:00.2h B Some late coaxing but did nicely for a maiden claiming filly in Eurton's barn, smooth throughout, splits of :23.2, :35 flat

FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 118 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs..

1 1 Still in the Game Mario Gutierrez Ben Cecil 8/12/13 SA 5f 1:01.4h B- Once again worked outside Caerulean (same time) for Cecil and was going the easier of the two at the wire (both head-

and-head), final quarter in a solid :24.4. Coming back well but needs to be realistically spotted.

2/6 SA 5f 1:02h B- In company outside Caerulean (same time) for Cecil and finished stride-for-stride with that one through the lane, splits of :37 flat and 1:02 flat, never really asked at any stage. Freshened since last summer, seems to be returning well, would like to see him tried in a high priced claimer now that he's a 4-year-old.

2 2 American Code Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 2/12/29 SA 5f 1:00hg B+ Was outside Beacon Hill (same time) and was impressive though not necessary quick in the opening stages, splits of

:24.2 and :47.4 before being eased up at the furlong pole and then galloping to the wire in 1:12.3, very smart for Baffert while much the best of workmate. Very promising and probably will do his best eventually over a distance of ground. Fit and ready.

3 3 Candy Fury Umberto Rispoli Victor Garcia 6/1

4 4 Believe Now Joel Rosario Michael McCarthy 4/12/2 SA 5f 1:01.2h B- Broke off a few lengths behind of Stirred (5f 1:01.4h) for M. McCarthy), moved up inside to engage at the top of the lane

and then finished stride-for-stride with workmate under mild urging, final half in :49.3, okay work. Seems fairly fit but may be a down-the-road type.

6 6 Arch Ability Geovanni Franco J. Desormeaux 15/1 2/22 SA 4f :49h TT B- Solo half mile training track drill for K. Desormeaux, going off slowly but then responding to urging in the final furlong,

last quarter in :23.4. In good shape, probably has a bit of improvement in him. Seeking another mid-grade maiden claimer.

7 7 Beachcombing J.C. Diaz, Jr. Bob Baffert 6/12/29 SA 4f :47.3h B In company with Azul Coast (4f, :47.2h) for Baffert in main track half mile drill, breaking off a length in front and then

finishing evenly with 'Coast to the wire, both under some coaxing, splits of :23.3 and :47.3, nice enough for maiden son of Giant's Causeway. Can run some but we suspect he may not show his best until stretched out and perhaps tried on grass. Worth following.

2/23 SA 5f 1:00.1hg B- Not a bad gate drill for Baffert inside Beacon Hill (same time), splits of :24 flat, :35.1, :47.1 and 1:00.1 before galloping out to the wire in 1:15.3. Getting fit, was $500,000 yearling purchase but has been somewhat slow to come around and may be a down-the-line sort at this stage.

8 8 Moon Mischief Jorge Velez John Sadler 6/13/1 SA 5f 1:00.4h B Final half in :23 flat and :48 flat, never really asked, smooth move for J. Sadler. Holds his form but probably can't beat a

decent maiden on this circuit.

9 9 Drop the Chalupa Jose Valdivia, Jr. Ronald Ellis 12/1 2/16 SA 5f 1:00.2hg B Solo gate drill for Ellis, veered out at the start but then got in gear and went rather nicely, splits of :24.1, :35.4, :47.4 and

1:00.1 to the 5/8ths pole to complete the work, then galloped out to the wire strongly, up in 1:13.4. Liam's Map gelding has some run, seems pretty fit, worth a look.

 Race #3 Maiden Special Weight - 5 1/2F T

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 118 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs. [Non-Starters For A Claiming Price Of $40,000 Or Less In Their Last Start Preferred]..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Nurse Goodbody Tiago Pereira J. Kruljac 15/1 1/19 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B Another good training track drill, easy early, strong through the lane under mild coaxing, final quarter mile in :24 flat.

Acts like a router and is bred for grass, getting cranked up, has some run.

1/12 SA 5f 1:01.3h TT B Solo training track drill for Kruljac and went well, slow early but nice through the lane, splits of :24.1, :37.1 and 1:01.3, mild coaxing in the final stages. Getting fit, should finally make it to the races soon (she's a 4-year-old), daugher of Kitten's Joy seems likely to be at her best over a distance of ground on grass.

2 2 Bristol Bayou Mike Smith John Shirreffs 6/12/23 SA 4f :48.2h B- In blinkers, never really asked in solo half mile main track drill, splits of :23.2 and :48.1 while holding her form. Ran okay on

grass last time out when third and probably should be kept on the lawn for now.

3 3 New Drama Drayden Van Dyke Tim Yakteen 8/1

4 4 Sapphire Silk Umberto Rispoli Jeff Mullins 8/13/1 SA 4f :48.1h B+ Went off quickly and finished under a hold, nice move for daughter of Verrazano, splits of :11.4 and :36.1 for the final

three furlongs. Looks like a nice prospect for Mullins, bred for turf and should make the entries soon. Good sort.

5 5 Lil Miss Moppet Abel Cedillo Peter Miller 5/1

6 6 Stopped Raining Eduard Rojas Fernandez Ricardo Guillen 20/1

7 7 Majestic Gigi Mario Gutierrez Hector Palma 15/1 2/26 SA 5f 1:02h B- In blinkers for Palma, mostly on her own, final quarter in :25.3. Seems about the same, probably belongs in a high priced

maiden claiming turf sprint.

8 8 Rocking Redhead Joel Rosario Richard Baltas 8/12/14 SA 4f :48.2h B Inside Colonial Creed (same time) in main track half mile spin, final three furlongs in :36.4 without need of urging, nice

move by daughter of Hard Spun. Plenty fit, should be seen in a maiden turf sprint soon.

2/7 SA 4f :49.2h TT B Solo training track drill for Baltas, sharp through the lane after going off slowly, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :36.3, getting over the ground smoothly throughout. Hard Spun filly was entered in turf sprint last month but refused to enter the gate and was scratched. Plenty of talent, hope her mind holds up.

1/25 SA 5f 1:02.2h B- In company outside Two Thirty Five (5f, 102.1h) and was second best to older, more experience and stakes-quality stable mate, final half in :50 flat, mild pressure through the lane. Okay move considering the company, was hoping for a bit better, though. May be a turf type eventually.

1/18 SA 4f :47.3h TT B In company inside Desert Stone) in team training track drill and looked decent, mostly in hand (workmate asked a bit), final three furlongs in :35.2, rathe rnice for Baltas. Daughter of Hard Spun looks to have some ability, must follow in subsequent drills.

9 9 Affianced Flavien Prat Richard Mandella 7/22/27 SA 5f :59.3hg B In team gate drill with Sly (4f, :47.4hg), didn't break particularly well but showed good speed once in motion to be going

well early in :24 flat, continued the better of the two midway in :35.2 and :47 flat, then drew clear after workmate was eased up and finished out in :59.3, impressive, for sure, for Mandella. By More TJhan Ready and therefore bred for grass, probably will debut in turf sprint soon. Nice prospectd.

10 10 Woke Up to Aces Tyler Gaffalione Michael McCarthy 12/1 2/28 SA 5f 1:02.2h B- Steady work, splits of :12.3, :24.4 and :49.3 for the final half mile, mostly on her own, not bad for M. McCarthy. Showed

early speed before weakening in her debut sprinting on grass last month, has a right to improve with that effort behind her.

11 11 Constantia Jorge Velez John Sadler 15/1 3/1 SA 5f 1:01.4h C+ In company outside Heywoods Beach (5f, 1:02h), may have gone a bit slower than given, splits on our watches of :12.3,

:24.4, and :49.4 for the final half mile, not impressive while failing to change leads through the lane, slightly second best at the wire. Nothing special at this stage for Sadler.

12 12 Navetta Ruben Fuentes John Sadler 6/13/1 SA 4f :48.3h TT B Another solo training track drill for 4-year-old maiden in J. Sadler barn, light urging through the lane, final three

furlongs in :36 flat. Has some run. for sure, brought $200,000 in a 2-year-old in training sale in 2018 and may finally make it to the post.

2/15 SA 5f :59.2h TT B- Solo training track drill for 4-year-old maiden in the Sadler barn, ridden through the lane, final quarter in :24 flat to record very fast final time. Wasn't visually overwhelming, though, has been in training a long time, inclined to see one first.

13 13 Moonhall Milly [FR] Flavien Prat Leonard Powell 3/1

14 14 Happy Tune Jose Valdivia, Jr. Patrick Gallagher 20/1 1/10 SA 5f 1:01.1h C+ Mostly on her own, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :37.1 for Gallagher, fair move, nothing special. Been away for more

than a year, looks about the same when we last saw her.

12/19 SA 5f 1:01h B- Just coasting through the lane, final quarter in :25.3. Getting fit again, didn't show a whole lot last year in three outings.

2 2 Flagstaff Victor Espinoza John Sadler 8/5

3 3 Roadster Mike Smith Bob Baffert 5/23/2 SA 4f :46.1h B+ In company outside McKale (same time), both going quite well in sharp half mile drill, both being let run in the final furlong,

splits of :22.2 and :46.1 for Baffert. Both are doing quite well, will see each other again in the San Carlos S.

4 4 St. Joe Bay Flavien Prat John Sadler 4/12/1 SA 5f :59.3h B+ Solo five furlong drill for comebacking sprinter in the J. Sadler barn, splits of :24 flat, :35.2 and :59.3 on our watches,

ridden some late while looking to have retained most of his old speed. A few weeks away at this stage but seems to be returning in fine fettle.

5 5 Law Abidin Citizen Abel Cedillo Mark Glatt 8/1

6 6 McKale Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 5/13/2 SA 4f :46.1h B+ In company inside Roadster (same time), both going quite well in sharp half mile drill, both being let run in the final

1 1 True Valour [IRE] Umberto Rispoli Simon Callaghan 6/1

2 2 River Boyne [IRE] Abel Cedillo Jeff Mullins 3/13/2 SA 3f :36.4h TT B+ Sharp as a tack in easy three furlong training track breeze for Mullins, smooth as silk. Back in winning form and holds

his edge.

3 3 Got Stormy Tyler Gaffalione Mark Casse 5/2

4 4 Next Shares Flavien Prat Richard Baltas 10/1

5 5 Sellwood Mike Smith Jeff Mullins 15/1 2/13 SA 5f 1:01h C+ Ridden through the lane, final three furlongs in :37 flat, okay work but nothing special. Much better on grass, it would

seem. Gets tested for class in Kilroe Mile.

6 6 Ohio [BRZ] Jose Valdivia, Jr. Michael McCarthy 6/12/1 SA 4f :49.4h B Breezing move while appearing happy, final quarter under a nice hold in :24.2. Old timer still has plenty of spark, won a

stakes in Phoenix last time out and likely will try to defend his title in the Kilroe Mile next time out.

Page 4: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Saturday, March 7thSiegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Saturday, March 7th Race #1 Maiden Claiming - 1M T FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE

7 7 Kingly Mario Gutierrez Bob Baffert 15/1 2/29 SA 4f :49h B Never really asked in easy half mile drill, splits of :24.2 and :49 flat. Seems about the same, a cut below the top turf milers

on this circuit.

8 8 Frontier Market Joel Rosario John Sadler 6/1

9 9 Sash [GB] Drayden Van Dyke Mark Glatt 30/1

10 10 Desert Stone [IRE] Geovanni Franco Richard Baltas 10/1 2/21 SA 4f :48.1h TT B- In blinkers, outside Liar Liar (same time) in training track drill, mild coaxing through the lane to finish stride-for-stride,

steady splits. Deep closer comes off clever win in San Gabriel Stakes, holds his form.

 Race #6 Maiden Special Weight - 6 1/2F D

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 118 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Majestic Blend Edwin Maldonado Anna Meah 6/11/11 SA 3f :36.4h B Hard held leaving the pole while trying to lug out, then straightened away into the lane and finished under a hold in short

drill for Meah, :36.3 on our watches. Bred for much speed and appears to have some. Several weeks away at this stage.

2 2 Reem J.C. Diaz, Jr. Bob Baffert 5/23/2 SA 4f :48h B In blinkers and went very well for Baffert, splits of :12 flat, :23.3 and :48.1, never really asked. Showed some promise in

debut and certainly has a right to produce a forward move.

3 3 Gamine Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 3/53/2 SA 4f :46.2h A- Under wraps in easy solo main track move for Baffert, splits of :11.3, :22.4 and :46.3 on our watches, never permitted at

any stage to show her natural speed. Smoker appears ready to roll.

2/23 SA 6f 1:12.4h A Broke off behind Gingham (5f, 1:00.4h) and stalked that one to the head of the lane under wraps, then went by with the greatest of ease before continuing out with a ton left to 7/8 pole, splits of :12.3, :24.4, :36.3, 1:001 and 1:12.4. Into Mischief filly is freaky good.

4 4 Miss Addie Pray Joel Rosario Patrick Gallagher 7/2

SCR - Derby Lady SCRATCHED

 Race #7 - China Doll S. Stakes - 1M T

FOR FILLIES THREE-YEARS-OLD. FREE nominations, closed with 27. On Thursday February 27, 2020 $1,500 supplementary nominations are due at time of entry.

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Triana [IRE] Tyler Gaffalione Simon Callaghan 12/1

2 2 Little Bird [IRE] Geovanni Franco Richard Baltas 8/12/28 SA 5f 1:02.3h TT C+ Second best while being ridden aggressively in the final stages in company with Fivestar Lynch (same time), final

three furlongs in :37.2. Not particularly impressive, expected a bit more, but Irish-bred filly no doubt wants turf for her best.

3 3 Bella Vita Flavien Prat Simon Callaghan 6/1

4 4 Stela Star [IRE] Joel Rosario John Sadler 7/22/7 SA 5f 1:01.3h TT B+ Finished in a rally in solo five furlong training track drill for Sadler, splits of :25 flat, :37.1 and 1:01.2 on our watches,

full of run late. Dead fit and ready to make her U.S debut in stakes competition. Stretch-running type based on her local drill, though she won on the lead in a Group-3 stakes in Ireland last fall.

1/30 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B+ Irish stakes winner in Sadler barn turned in excellent solo training track drill, mild coaxing through the lane, final three furlongs in :12 flat and :36 flat. Very promising, to be sure, should find her place among the good 3-year-old filly turf runners on this circuit.

5 5 Sherilinda Aaron Gryder George Papaprodromou 50/1 2/29 SA 5f 1:02.4h C Easy to the top in :12.4, :25.1 and :37.2, then was asked to quicken in the lane but had no real response, up in 1:03.3 on

our watches, slower than given. Won debut nicely up north but didn't earn much of a speed figure and may be in deep water on this circuit. Question mark.

6 6 Red Lark [IRE] Jose Valdivia, Jr. Patrick Gallagher 15/1

7 7 Homehome Mario Gutierrez Doug O'Neill 20/1 2/28 SA 4f :48.3h B In company outside Lakerball (same time) for O'Neill and was hard held most of the way while looking sharp (workmate

asked), splits of :24.2 and :48.4 on our watches, able to go much faster if turned loose. Improving, handles any surface, but probably wants to sprint at this stage.

8 8 Carpe Vinum Abel Cedillo Philip D'Amato 15/1 2/22 SA 5f 1:02.2h TT B- In blinkers, worked inside Ole Silver (5f, 1:02.3h) for D'Amato and did well enough without ever being asked, final

quarter in :25.1. Maintains her form, probably will be kept on grass, has allowance conditions and probably should use them.

9 9 Croughavouke [IRE] Umberto Rispoli Jeff Mullins 5/1

10 10 Beguiled Drayden Van Dyke Philip D'Amato 10/1 2/22 SA 5f :59.4h TT B In blinkers, maybe a tad second best working outside Kalliniki (5f, 1:00h, TT), breaking off a length back and then

finishing stride-for-stride late while being nudged a bit (workmate under a hold), still a strong work for lightly-raced sophomore filly, splits of :24 flat and 1:00 flat on our watches. Went straight and true here so hood seems to have helped. Gets tested in China Doll Stakes after breaking her maiden impressively (though very green) last time out.

11 11 Warren's Showtime Jorge Velez Craig Lewis 4/12/17 SA 5f :59.3h B+ A tad late changing leads but was strong throughout, mild coaxing only, splits of :23.3, :35.1 and :59.4, very sharp for C.

Lewis. Cal Cup Oaks winner has further improvement in her, will get tested in open company next time out. Handles any surface but may prefer turf.

12 12 Abby Hatcher [IRE] Ruben Fuentes Anna Meah 20/1

13 13 Guitty [FR] Brice Blanc Leonard Powell 12/1 2/28 SA 4f :48.2h TT B A little late changing leads but was quite sharp throughout in solo training track drill, final three furlongs in :11.4 and

:36.1. Has a history of breaking slowly and putting herself in a tough spot.

14 14 Roadrunner's Honor Rafael Bejarano Doug O'Neill 20/1 2/28 SA 4f :49.2h B In company outside Field Bet (4f, :49.3h) for O'Neill and was breezing and looking sharp, final quarter in :24.1. May be

capable of showing improving with added experience. Remains a nice prospect.

 Race #8 - San Felipe S. Stakes - 1 1/16M D

1 1 Fort McHenry Abel Cedillo Doug O'Neill 20/1 3/1 SA 4f :49.3h C+ Half brother to California Chrome went nicely early but appeared to lose some focus through the stretch while slowing up

a bit, final quarter in a moderate :25.2. Appears overmatched in San Felipe Stakes.

2 2 Honor A. P. Mike Smith John Shirreffs 4/13/1 SA 5f 1:01.4h B- Solo five furlong main track breeze, splits of :25.1, :37 flat and 1:02 flat, never asked, just plugging away. Curious to see

if he's most aggressive in the afternoon. Certainly showed plenty promise last fall as a 2-year-old.

2/23 SA 7f 1:28.1h B- Picked him up at the 3/4 pole In company outside Shear Class (7f, 1:29h) for Shirreffs, came home in :48.4 and 1:15.1, no real pressure while just plodding around. Long winded colt hasn't been out since the fall and returns in a very tough spot, hard to say if he has the acceleration required to beat the best of his age on this circuit

2/8 SA 5f 1:00.4h B- Came the final half mile in :23.2 and :48.2, mild pressure while grinding away in solo main track drill. Long-fused colt had a minor setback after breaking his maiden but is getting fit again and seems healthy. Has quality, for sure, but is a one-paced sort.

3 3 Wrecking Crew Tyler Gaffalione Peter Miller 12/1

4 4 Authentic Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 6/53/2 SA 6f 1:12.4h B+ Easy solo breeze from 5/8ths to the 7/8ths pole, splits of :24.2, :36.1, 1:00.2 and 1:12.3, never asked a drop, almost

appearing a bit bored. Needs to get back into action and will get his chance in the San Felipe.

2/24 SA 7f 1:12.4h A- Solo six furlong drill for Baffert from the 5/8ths to the 7/8ths, splits of :24.3, :36.3, 1:00 flat and 1:12.3 on our watches, cruise control throughout. Has a chance to develop into an exceptional 3-year-old.

5 5 Thousand Words Flavien Prat Bob Baffert 9/53/2 SA 5f :59.4h B+ Best we've seen him look, breaking off slightly behind Dr. Dorr (5f, 1:00.2h) and inhaling that one in the late stages

without much pressure, splits of :34.4 and :59.4 to the wire. On edge; perhaps the light switch has gone on.

2/24 SA 7f 1:26.4h B Broke off a bit behind Storie Blue (7f, 1:27h) and stalked that one to the head of the lane, then was asked to quicken but couldn't never really blow past stubborn workmate, final half mile from 3/8ths pole to the 7/8ths pole in a solid :48.3. Never been all that generous in the morning but finds a way to get the job done in the p.m. Pointing for San Felipe Stakes.

6 6 Storm the Court Joel Rosario Peter Eurton 5/12/29 SA 5f :59.2h B+ Breezed outside Shooters Shoot (same time) for Eurton and looked sharp and spot on, splits of :24 flat, :35.1 and :59.2,

never really asked much while finishing with plenty and galloping out strongly. On edge for his best race, wouldn't be surprised if he's sent to the lead in the San Felipe.

12 12 Peter's Kitten Joel Rosario John Sadler 5/13/1 SA 5f 1:01h B Worked inside Ollie's Candy (same time) for Sadler and was clearly second best to hard-held workmate but held her own,

final half mile in :23.2 and :48.2, decent for a grass specialist. Doing well, has all of her conditions, needs pace up front to be effective.

13 13 Arctic Roll [GB] Flavien Prat Andrew Lerner 5/1

14 14 Legend Emma [IRE] Mario Gutierrez Richard Baltas 12/1 12/28 SA 4f :48.2h TT B- Asked some through the lane in solo training track move, final three furlongs in :36.3, decent enough for Baltas. Seems

in good enough shape, however, was entered and scratched four days after this work.

12/22 SA 4f :49.3h C+ In blinkers, very light coaxing through the lane inside Drasario (same time) and was best, splits of :11.4, :23.4 and :49.2 on our watches, nothing too exciting. Lightly-raced import has been away since the spring, showed a bit of promise in Florida and returns with all of her allowance conditions for new trainer Baltas.

now as he was last year.

2/23 SA 6f 1:13h B+ Strictly on his own, splits of :23.4, :47.2 and 1:12.4 on our watches, sharp and willing. Pointing for the Big 'Cap and remains on top of his game.

5 5 Midcourt Victor Espinoza John Shirreffs 2/13/1 SA 5f 1:01.2h C+ Never impressive in the a.m. and was shoved through the lane while appearing disinterested, final quarter in :25.2.

Brings it in the afternoon, though. Will try gate-to-wire tactics in the Big 'Cap.
