TERZA MERIT AWARD: For the past several years, students have
voted for classmates to receive the Terza Merit Award, given in honor
of beloved teacher Rick Terza. Students are chosen monthly from each
grade for exemplifying the virtues of Mr. Terza, especially his strong
Catholic Faith, his Seton spirit, and his virtue of respect. A list of the
Terza Merit Award winners for this school year so far is included else-
where in the Sentinel
STOCKINGS FOR SALE: Haiti fundraiser. Three junior girls (Anne
Konstanty, Theresa Dwane, and Michaela Catabui) are selling Christ-
mas stockings to raise money for our twin school in Haiti. See the ad
elsewhere in the Sentinel and support these young entrepreneurs.

Mary wrapped her child in swaddling clothes….We may imagine with
what great love Mary approached her hour and prepared for the
birth of her child….The child stiffly wrapped in bandages is seen as
prefiguring the hour of his death; from the outset, he is the sacrificial
victim… The manger, then, was seen as a kind of altar…. [In addition]
the manger is the place where animals find their food. But now, lying
in the manger, is he who called himself the true bread come down
from heaven, the true nourishment that we need in order to be fully
ourselves…..Thus the manger becomes a reference to the table of God,
to which we are invited so as to receive the bread of God. From the
poverty of Jesus’ birth emerges the miracle in which man’s redemp-
tion is mysteriously accomplished.

Monday, January 7 - Official Kick-Off for the Seton Spirit Ad Campaign!! The Seton Spirit Ad Campaign is Seton's annual fundraiser and all families are required to participate and raise $350. Families that choose not to sell ads will need to submit a $350 check to Seton School.

The 2019 Seton Cover Art Contest has begun! Entry forms can be picked up in the Computer Lab during 5th and 6th periods. Deadline for all entries is Wed, Jan 23rd. Prizes will be awarded. See Mrs. Tsukalas for details.
HELP WANTED! Reading 7 Teacher Needed
Seton needs a teacher for one Period 3 Reading 7 class beginning in late January. This course includes paragraph writing and litera-ture. An English major and teaching experience are desirable but not required. Please send a letter of interest to Barbara Mirus, [email protected].
2018 PSAT and PSAT 8/9
Score Report Update
Online score reports are now available. Students who took one of these exams and have a College Board account should have re-ceived an email notification. Information on how to interpret score results is available at www.collegeboard.org or click PSAT/NMSQT 2018 or PSAT 8/9 2018. Student’s paper score reports will be sent to Seton in January and will be sent home in a sealed en-velope with the oldest child. Parents that would prefer to pick up their child's report can contact Mrs. Reyes at (540) 683-1942 or [email protected].

OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE SETON COMMUNITY “A Dance with Santa” New World Horizons, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting an event for moms, dads and their down
syndrome or special needs child on Dec 15th from 4-8 at the Manassas Baptist Church. The evening will provide a

Baseball Winter Workouts All students interested in playing Varsity or JV/Junior High baseball should attend winter workouts with the Seton coaching
