This may happen because may be too much softener has been used orthe fabric bleeding color is of weak color uality. Though softener makesthe (ber soft but it also breaks the dye loose and may stain the fabric. Toomuch use of softener makes the fabric wa)y. 0o, one should cut a balancein using softener and other components in normal wash. n such casesgarment should be washed with less softener and check if the stainingproblem is got rid of or eliminated. f use of less softener cannot sol$e theproblem of staining indicates poor color

n order to accelerate the garment wash e%ect and to gi$e garments ane$en more uni ue appearance and softer hand, abrasi$e stones wereintroduced to the wash bath. ; $ariety of natural and synthetic stones area$ailable for stonewashing with perhaps the most widely used beingpumice or $olcanic rock. ;s the stones are used, they slowly disintegrate, reducing the se$erity of the stonewash e%ect o$er a period of time. Thestones not only abrade the fabric but also gradually abrade the inside of the rotary drum. ; machine used for stonewashing should not be used todye delicate articles or when abrasion would be detrimental to the fabric.

37 GARMENT WASH AN# $@ER;#>E) This type of wash is also used for denim garments to gi$e them a speciallook. This is performed in the following way<

8".19 ash the denim garments with stone so that the double needleseams, pocket Haps and e)posed parts get washed down to light blue

color or white.8".39 Put into dye the tumble to dye the garments to get the desired color.

8".?9 ; coat of new color will appear on to the garment, especially, inareas where the garment has been washed to a light shade. This creates aspecial but di%erent look. n this process of wash, the lining or pocketingwill pick up the color too. 'y this wash, direct dye or reacti$e dye same asdyeing fabrics or yarn may be used. 4irect dye is cheaper. 0o, direct dyemay be used with concomitant use of color ()ing agent, after dyeing to

make the color more stable. n case of solid color fabric staining within thegarment is not a problem. owe$er, if garments of di%erent colors arewashed together by the consumers, color may transfer to other garments,so reacti$e dye is more preferable.

57 WHITENING)hitening agents are used to create a super white look. 8Cnless the

garments you wash is all colored namely no white color at all in the fabric, you should use whitening powder in the rinsing process to make the whitepart more white9 n denim where there are colored warp threads and whiteweft threads. f such garments undergo [stone wash and bleach[whitening powder is used in the (nal rinsing. This makes the white threadsin the fabric whiter and generates a stronger contrast between blue andwhite on the surface of the fabric.

;fter washing denim check the re$erse side of the fabric to e$aluate if ade uate whitening agent has been used during rinsing. t is a commonpractice that garments ha$ing white parts should be washed with
