Term 1 Week 3 Tuesday 11 February 2020 BUS SAFETY LESSON

Kindergarten have had an exciting start to “Big School” at Scone Public School. We had an exciting morning learning all about how to stay safe on the bus. We hopped on the bus safely, used our inside voices on the bus and practised where to stand at our bus stop. Thank you to Mr Newling for driving us on the bus.

BUS INFORMATION Over the past few days Osborn’s Transport have sent out the remainder of the bus passes that had not been collected from our office with the relevant drivers, therefore if there are still students traveling without a pass it’s important that the student ask the driver for their pass, for some reason if the driver does not have the pass the parent or caregiver is to contact the office where a pass can be sorted.

THERAPIST PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES 2020 Re: Working with Students Procedures

To allow students and staff to settle into the new school year, therapy for 2020 WILL NOT commence until after WEEK 3, 17 February 2020.

The process for requesting therapy delivery at school is as follows:

1. The family must submit in writing to the Principal a request for NDIS Service Provision to be conducted during school hours. Parents are asked to meet with the school to discuss their request. This request will be through the Request for NDIS Service Provision form. (Appendix 6).

2. This form is then processed during Learning Support Team meetings which are conducted on a Monday.

3. A letter will then be forwarded to the family with recommendations which will outline days and times available and they will inform the therapists of availability.

4. Therapists will be required to contact the school office by email at [email protected] and provide relevant details (name, email address, contact number and student you will be working with) that will enable the classroom teacher to contact you and confirm appointments.

5. New therapists that have not visited Scone Public School during 2019 will require to complete an Appendix 11 and supply our school with the necessary 100 points of I.D. which include a birth certificate/ marriage certificate or passport, drivers licence and their Working with Children clearance (letter with number and expiry date.)

6. When current therapists WWCC expires, documentation relating to the new number will need to be submitted. A new Appendix 11 will need to be completed at this time.

7. An induction will also be required before being able to work with students. An appointment must be made with the school office for this induction.

8. Therapists will be required to give a copy of their 2020 Child Protection Awareness Certificate.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
