By order of Governor Northam, all Virginia K-12 public and private schools are closed through the end of the academic year in June.
All APS school buildings and administrative offices are closed until further notice.
Calendar Notes:March 16-April 3 – Distance learning plans continue by grade level; no new content for elementary students
March 20 – End of 3rd Quarter, Report Cards as planned in April
April 6-10 – Spring Break, no new instructional material
April 13 – Grade prep day for teachers
April 14 – Distance learning plans by grade level to resume with an adjusted model through June; Details will be shared with parents next week

Graduation: APS is committed to celebrating Class of 2020 graduating seniors and planning is in progress.
Special Education: Teachers are connecting with students and their parents via virtual video check-ins to provide reassurance and consultative support.
Grade-Level Placement and Grading: We are following VDOE guidance and will develop a plan to ensure grading is fair and equitable.
IB/AP Exams: The May 2020 International Baccalaureate (IB) exams are canceled. Traditional Advanced Placement (AP) exams will not take place. On April 3, the full exam schedule will be published by the College Board.
SOL Tests: SOL tests are expected to be canceled this year. The VDOE is preparing an application for the waiver.
