Edward Street Bakery proud sponsors of the 2015 Living Advent Calendar

Edward St Bakery is a craft bakery based in Saltaire. Inspired by ‘The Cherry Bun Two’ (a fictional pair of criminal bakers) and an obsession for all things cake, bread and pizza, we set up Edward St Bakery in April 2015.

We currently sell our baked wares at the cool as conkers Triangle in Shipley, your one stop shop for beery delights, and at pop up events based here at the bakery. You can follow us on Twitter for updates on the next open bakery @edwardstbakery

The Saltaire Living Advent Calendar has been a feature of our village since 2006, with one new window ‘opened’ (4pm - 10.30pm) each evening from the 1st December to 24th December and all remain lit until 5th January. This year, in addition, 8 community buildings and shops will illuminate from 29th November and 6 further houses from the 1st of December, making it well worth a walk around the windows from the very beginning.

As usual, there’s plenty happening in Saltaire in the run up to Christmas. The Saltaire Visitor Information Centre puts together a listing and in particular we would like to draw your attention to the Christmas Tree lighting on Sunday 29th November 4pm at Victoria Hall. The event includes a number of stalls featuring local community groups.

On Christmas Eve there will be carol singing around the windows. Meet at The Saltaire Bookshop, 1 Myrtle Place at 7pm. Bring a lantern if you have one.

Do join us strolling around the streets of Saltaire and enjoy each window as it opens. Each window “opening” will also be displayed on the Saltaire Village website and on Facebook with snippets of information about the design and designers.

The Saltaire Living Advent Calendar is a Saltaire Inspired event. Saltaire Inspired is a volunteer-led charity which also organises the annual Saltaire Arts Trail and Makers Fair at Saltaire Festival.

When and where to find us...Windows from around the village will be illuminated with festive scenes. One new scene will be ‘opened’ each evening (4pm to 10.30pm) from the 1st to the 24th December and then until 5th January.
