Nashville RHP Wei- Chieh Huang then entered in relief, immediately walking LF Kyle Tucker before SS Myles Straw singled to plate a run. An ensuing Yordan Alvarez groundout scored another run to tie the game at 2-2. In the fifth, Straw and Alvarez again teamed up to plate a run, this time via a single and a double, giving the E-Train their first lead of the day at 3-2. However, in the home half, CF Delino DeSheilds reached base on a fielder's choice before scoring on a Scott Heineman single, tying the game at 3-3. The score remained until Round Rock unloaded for five runs in the ninth. With 1B AJ Reed at second base, 3B Nick Tanielu worked a walk. Sierra then collected his first career Triple-A RBI with a two-run double. A Tucker double, followed by a Straw sacrifice fly added two more runs to the ledger. #20STRONGThe Round Rock Express are celebrating their 20th anniversary season in 2019. The club was originally founded in 2000 as the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, winning the Texas League in their inaugural season. The Express advanced to the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2005. NO STRANGERS TO THE PCL GAMEThirteen players have made their Triple-A debut with the Express in 2019: RHP Brandon Bielak, RHP Ronel Blanco, RHP Jose Bravo, RHP Tanner Duncan, LHP Ryan Hartman, RHP Corbin Martin, C Lorenzo Quintana, RHP Kit Scheetz, INF Anibal Sierra, RHP Jose Urquidy, RHP Gabriel Valdez, RHP Forrest Whitley and OF Stephen Wrenn. The remaining 23 players that have suited up for Round Rock in 2019 all appeared for the Fresno Grizzlies at some point in 2018. The Grizzlies, who served as Houston’s Triple-A affiliate from 2015-2018, fell to the Memphis Redbirds 3-1 in the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship Series a year ago.

STATING THE FACTSAmerican-born players on Round Rock’s roster hail from 15 different states: Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington. The squad features two players from the State of Texas: RHP Ralph Garza (Edinburg) and RHP Forrest Whitley (San Antonio).

AROUND THE WORLDFive different nations are represented on the Express roster. In addition to the 20 players from the United States, RHP Rogelio Armenteros, OF Yordan Alvarez, LHP Cionel Pérez, C Lorenzo Quintana and INF Anibal Sierra all hail from Cuba while RHP Ronel Blanco and LHP Reymin Guduan are natives of the Dominican Republic, RHP Gabriel Valdez is from Panama and INF Jose Altuve is from Venezuela. EXPRESS MANAGER MICKEY STOREYMickey Storey joins the Express from the Class-A Quad Cities River Bandits, where he began his managerial career in 2018. The 32-year-old skipper led the River Bandits to an 81-59 record in 2018, the second-best mark in the Midwest League and the club’s highest win total since 2015. Prior to his time in Quad Cities, Storey served as the Development Coach at Class-A Advanced Buies Creek in 2017. The former right-handed pitcher had a nine-year professional playing career that included one season with the Astros in 2012 in which he posted a 3.86 ERA in 26 appearances with the Major League club.

Storey was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he attended nearby Deerfield Beach High School before moving on to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He was drafted twice in his career, first by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the 2007 MLB Draft and again by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round of the 2008 MLB Draft. During his nine-year professional career, Storey pitched at every level of affiliated baseball, including stints with Sacramento and Oklahoma City in the Pacific Coast League. He also posted winter ball stints in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela. He finished his playing career in 2016 following two seasons with the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League. In total, the righty amassed a career 3.52 ERA in 385 games.
