ROK FLEX M Application Instructions

ROK FLEX M is a topical treatment that when applied to metals will prevent corrosion from taking place, and protects the metals from further deterioration. It is a two step treatment that consists of: a primer coat and a top coat. ROK FLEX M protects metals with a protective coating that acts like epoxy, but it’s not brittle.

ROK FLEX M has many qualities, including:

Excellent elongation Properties

Strong Resistance to Acids

Protection of base metals against Rust and Corrosion

Can be Applied by Spraying, Brushing, or Rolling

Application Instructions

Step I

Clean surface of metal thoroughly with grinder or sandblaster to reveal base metal, freeing all metal surface area from rust, corrosion, debris, patina, or other oxidizing agents.

ROK FLEX M should always be installed by ROK Protective Systems trained personnel.

Step II

Identify ROK FLEX M Primer Coat. Primer coating is a two part solution that must be mixed together just prior to use.

Step III

Pour 3A solution into appropriate sized container, and then pour 3B into same container. Mix thoroughly for 30 to 45 seconds or until primer coating has a viscous, uniform appearance. When mixing ROK FLEX M Primer Coat, use Jiffy Mixer (see appendix).

Step IV

Evenly coat metal surface with Primer Coat, and allow to dry thoroughly.††

Step V

Identify ROK FLEX M Top Coat.

††When applying to large metal surfaces, Primer Coat may be brushed on, rolled on, or sprayed on. Drying time is typically 3 to 5 minutes; However, depending on larger projects and environmental conditions drying time may be longer.

Step VI

Pour ROK FLEX M Top Coat B Component into ROK FLEX M Top Coat A Component.

Step VII

Mix components together using electric hand drill with Jiffy Mixer attachment (See Appendix).

Step VIII

Distribute ROK FLEX M Top Coat formula onto metal surface. Ensure that Primer

Coat has dried thoroughly prior to application of Top Coat .

Step IX

Allow full application of ROK FLEX M to cure. Full cure occurs at seven days.

Jiffy Mixer

Jiffy Mixer is attached to ordinary electric handheld drill.

Pressure Pot Sprayer

Pressure Pot Sprayer may be used. Manufacturer recommends using an

air assist spray head.
