Global Project Finance Loans in first half of 2018 totaled US$104.2 billion from 326 transactions, down 16.3%

from the same period last year. Despite falling 17% from first half 2017, Power sector accounted for 53.3% of

market activity and reached US$55.5 billion from 215 deals.

Americas Project Finance Loans in the first half of 2018 reached US$33.6 billion, up 15.9% from comparable

period last year. South America showed the biggest growth, up 204.9% from the first half of 2017, with US$6.6

billion from 27 deals. The US$6.1 billion project finance loan of Cheniere Corpus Christi is the largest deal for

the period.

EMEA Project Finance Loans totalled US$37.3 billion from 130 deals in the first half of 2018, down 18.8% year-

on-year. The Power sector posted a 4.5% increase in activity compared to the first half of 2017, with 85 deals at

US$17.5 billion.

Asia Pacific and Japan Project Finance Loans volume reached US$33.4 billion in the first six months of 2018,

decreased 32.9% from the same period of last year. Activity in Australia drove this market, and its NSW

Electricity Networks’ US$3.2 billion deal was the largest deal in this region.
