Announcements
Dear Church Family,
I want to thank you all for your prayers, meals and many won-derful cards that you sent me on my last operation. It is such a comfort to know not only do I have my immediate family to watch over me but, also my church family. I can’t express my love for all of you enough and what a wonderful church family you are. May God richly bless each and eve-ryone for their giving hearts. I pray God has set me on a heal-ing path to a complete and full recovery.
Love to you all,
Karla Radtke
Saint John’s last word were:
“Children love one an-
other.” Thank you for dem-
onstrating that by your cards,
notes and donations when
my youngest brother Ted
passed away recently.

Tye Dutcher’s family wishes to thank each one for all the prayers and blood donations.
Tye was on our prayer list recently, he was run over by a tractor lawn mower.
The family praises God that Tye is doing well and is in good spirits. Continued prayers for the family would be appreciated.

From the Pastor
There are a number of happy things going on here. First, it is a great joy to have Rollin
Heinrichs leading our choir. He is a gift to our congregation along with his wife Janet. We are
going to experience an enrichment of our weekly worship under his leadership. If you sing, I en-
courage you to join the choir. Use the vocal gift God has given you to benefit our worship ser-
vices.
The Session continues its stellar work. We have been working on the church’s By-Laws to bring
them into alignment with The Book of Order. We have also sought to clarify and simplify them.
We hope to have them fully revised and available for you review soon. After they are printed
and you have had time to study them, we will have a congregational meeting to approve new
By-Laws.
Our Nominating Committee is doing its work. I look forward to them presenting a slate of
Nominees and their election. My goal for the future is to have those elected by you to begin to
look to the future and set forth an objective for ministry for Dinuba Presbyterian Church. We
face some opportunities for ministry. God is not done with us, yet. So, pray for the Nominating
Committee and for those women and men they will put forward as nominees for elders, deacons
and trustees.
This month I began to serve on a Presbytery Committee: Congregational Development. I’m look-
ing forward to participating in its work in our Presbytery and for our congregation.
Thank you for your continued prayers for Jane and me.
Blessings
Kent

Session Notes Working under the direction of the Presbytery’s Administrative Commission, the Dinuba Presbyterian Session met
for the monthly business meeting on April 8, 2008. Items of interest include the following:
Vacation Approval – Matt Naylor requested a vacation/spiritual retreat leave for April 18-25. After dis-
cussion, the leave was approved.
Financial Report – The General Fund balance on March 31, 2008 was $20,863. The Building Fund con-
tained $79,609 on that date.
Mission Budget Committee Report – Phil Sadoian presented the recommendations of the committee for
the 2008 mission budget. The committee recommended that we redirect the 5% that was previously allo-
cated to both Hope Now for Youth (Fresno) and Love, Inc. (local) to an undesignated reserve to be used as
special mission needs arise during the year or to be distributed among the other mission beneficiaries at the
end of the year. After discussion by Session, the recommendation was approved.
Dedication of the Church – Debbie Hurley reported on the work of the dedication planning committee.
The dedication of the church is set for June 1st at 2:00 p.m. Sub-committees in charge of refreshments,
decorations, publicity, and worship are being formed. The schedule for the dedication includes a worship
service, fellowship time, and an open house with a display of ministry and church programs. A list of in-
vited guests is being compiled.
Use of Sanctuary for a Dinner by the DHS Adv. Leadership Class to Raise Funds for the People of
Kenya – After consideration, Session approved the request by the DHS Leadership Class to use the church
on April 25th for a benefit dinner for the people of Kenya, with speaker Jeremy Johnson.
Use of Facilities by Outside Groups – Pastor Kent passed out a sample Use of Facilities document for
review. Session will review this document in the next few weeks and discuss developing a DPC Use of
Facilities document at the next business meeting.
Future Meeting Dates – The next stated business meeting of Session is Tuesday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m.
Session also meets once a month for prayer and study. Presently we are reviewing Session’s responsibility
as outlined in the Book of Order.

PAGE 6 REPORTER MAY 2008
Dear Church Family,
After much prayer and many conversations with teammates here in Indonesia, I have committed to serving here until Summer ’09! I’m looking forward to the joys and challenges that are to come! Our team has spent some time revis-ing our vision and thinking about our individual and team roles. Our vision for the future reads: “The name of Jesus is renowned in Central Sumatra , and crazy, unstoppable, transformational CP (Church planting) movements are hap-pening.” This is our hope for the future! It is the dream we all want to be a part of, and trust that the Lord will do it in His perfect timing. As I’ve said so many times, it’s a privilege to be a part of this Kingdom work and I covet your prayers and support. The work is not easy nor quick. Won’t you please join us in lifting up the Central Sumatran peo-ple, that they might one day soon be followers of the Way, the Truth, and the Life!! Nothing is impossible with God!
Some specific requests I’d like to share with you this month are for my personal language study. Everyday I feel the need to be able to communicate fluently with the people here, but learning a second language takes time and moti-vation! Also please lift up my use of time. I need wisdom to know which activities and relationships to be involved in and how to make my time in Sumatra most useful. A family on our team just left this morning to move to a city about 16 hours away. Please pray for their transition, immigration documents, new school, new relationships, and the work they will be starting among another Unreached People Group.
Thank you all for your prayers, emails, encouragement, and financial support! I feel blessed to have such a loving church family! Keep in touch!
Love in Christ,
Diana Musson

family please keep them in prayer and to also be in prayer for how each of you
may be called to serve our church and our Lord.
If you have been wondering about the church landscaping, well, this is where you can help fi-nancially in order that planting can begin this spring. Make your donations payable to the church and we will proceed with planting when finances are available.
