This school for Grades K through 6 was originally built in Edmonton in 1967. The school faces two streets - 106 Avenue on the North and 154 Street on the East. It is under the jurisdiction of Edmonton School District No. 7. The room numbers and names are based on the School Board Room Data sheet. The current student enrollment is 181. The original 3,244 square metres school was built in 1967. Total building area is 3244 square metres. ABC Group A Division 2 - School. The 1967 original building is single storey and has combustible and non-combustible construction and is unsprinklered.
General Summary:
Structural Summary:(1967) Original Building has concrete blocks on concrete grade beams and concrete piles along perimeter and under interior walls; concrete slab on grade. Roof has wood deck on purlins and glulam beams on load bearing concrete blocks;wood deck on steel beams and steel columns and wood deck on OWSJ; Mezzanine for Stage 13 has wood floor supported by wood stud walls. Recommendations for future action: repair concrete slab on grade. Overall structural system rating is 4 (acceptable).

handling units and one hydronic multizone air handling unit. The control system is pneumatic and electric. The Ventilation System can meet ASHRAE 62-1989 Standard and present ventilation code requirements. The exterior zones of the school building are heated and ventilated using through-the-wall Unit Ventilators. These are reported to provide little ventilation, and be difficult to control. Interior zone is heated using hot water radiation, and ventilated by interior built-up air handling units. In general, heating and ventilation are not adequate according to modern standards. Mechanical systems controls appear to be original to the building and should be upgraded. Overall rating is Acceptable.
Electrical Summary:The building has been provided with a 600A, 120/208 V, 3 phase electrical service obtained from a pad mounted transformer. The transformer is owned and operated by the utility company, Epcor. A switch and gutter installation has been provided complete with disconnect switches and breakers that feed various panels and mechanical equipment within the school. There is limited capacity for expansion. Lighting is of the fluorescent type with energy efficient fixtures utilizing T8 lamps and electronic ballasts. Emergency lighting is provided by battery packs and remote heads located to illuminate paths and points of egress. Emergency lighting was upgraded in 2008. The fire alarm system is of the hard wired type. No strobes have been provided. The fire alarm system is no longer manufactured or supported and parts are becoming increasingly hard to obtain. Electrical systems, in general, are in acceptable to good condition.

Main switch fed underground from a pad mounted transformer located in the south-west corner of the property. Switch and gutter has been provided. Combination of wall mounted breakers and fused disconnect switches have been provided that feed branch circuit panels and equipment located throughout the school. There is limited space for expansion.
Branch circuit breaker panel shave been provided throughout the school and are located in the classroom wings and service rooms. Panels are generally 80 to 90% full.
Wall mounted motor starters have been provided for the control of mechanical equipment. Starters are complete with hand-off-auto selector switches and pilot lights.

Exterior lighting is controlled by a photo-cell with manual override.
An Edwards 6616 zoned hard wired fire alarm system has been provided. The system is complete with heat detectors, smoke detectors, manual pull stations, and 10" bells. Fire alarm system control panel is located in the general office with a remote annunciator located in the main entrance vestibule. The system is externally monitored and tested annually.

Telephone service is underground and terminates in the mechanical room. A Nortel Meridian telephone system has been provided and is located in the storage room in the general office. The system was installed in 2000. Each classroom has been provided with a telephone set.
The call system is the product of Bogen Multicomm 2000. The head end equipment is located in the same storage room as the telephone system. Telephone sets have been provide in each classroom. The call system is interfaced with the telephone system for paging purposes. Overhead speakers have been provided throughout the school, including classrooms, corridors and wash rooms.
Category 5 cable has been provided throughout, with data outlets in each classroom and the administration offices.
