Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have com-manded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Lesson Objective: We’ll help children to understand what the Great Commission is and how they canparticipate in this incredible call.

Askthekids:Did you know that there are two billion children in the world?” (Writethenumberonthewhiteboard/flipchart.)Thensay: Many of these children have never heard about Jesus.
Say:This week we’re going to help the children in a small country called “Nepal” have the opportunity to hear the gospel message. (Show the chil-dren where Nepal is located on a world map or globe). You can also direct attention to the bulletin board with pictures from Nepal.
We’re going to work with an organization called Awana International to share the gospel to the boys and girls in Nepal. Have any of you attended an Awana club?
For the next 4 days, we’re going to learn about Nepal, pray for the children in Nepal and help raise money so children in Nepal can hear the gospel.

Demonstrate the following to each child and say: When you enter a church in Nepal, you first take off your shoes. As you walk through the doorway, you bow your head, put your hands in prayer position and say “Jaimashi” to other believers in the church. Men sit on the left-hand side of the church (facing the altar) and women sit on the right-hand side of the church. Many churches have no pews, people sit on the floors. Girls put the scarf over their faces and pray before church starts.

Talkabouttomorrow’scelebration:Tellthechildrenthatyouwillhavea“Nepalese”partyandwilltastefoodthatiseateninNepal,hearNepalesemusic,hearbackfromtheirNepalese“penpal”,listentoastoryaboutNepalandfindouthowmuchmoneytheyraisedtohelpkidsinNepalhearthegospel.

Say:One thing we haven’t talked about is the food in Nepal. The people in Nepal like their food very spicy. They eat a lot of chicken and also like steamed vegetables and rice.
