RE isn’t just learning about different religions!
It gives you the opportunity to… Think about the big questions in life. Think about what different religions believe, say & do. Think about your own opinions & feelings……it’s not just about life here in West Mon, it’s about thinking about the world & our place in
it.RE helps you to improve all of your key skills, but especially… Communication – there’s lots of discussion; we want to hear about what you know & what you think. Working with other people – you get to do things as part of big & small groups. ICT – you have many opportunities to use ICT to present work in different ways & to research information. Improving your own learning & performance – there is lots of RE project work, where we look at how you’ve done & how you can improve next time…

In Years 10 & 11 at West Mon, RE is slightly different…
Instead of having a lesson once a week, you have a lesson once a fortnight. You study RE by looking at some of life’s BIG questions.
To help us do this, (& to keep RE in Years 10 & 11 relevant & up-to-date) we use parts of‘BBC e-clips: RE’.
So, in Years 10 & 11 we look at the following topics in RE:
‘Does death give life meaning?’
‘Selfish or selfless?’
‘What are the benefits of faith?’
‘Who is responsible for bringing about change?’
‘What makes us human?’
