PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE We have made it to our final newsletter for 2020 and what a year it has been! The impact of the devastating bushfires and the Covid pandemic on students, parents and teachers served to highlight how resilient and adaptable we can be when placed under pressure. Despite these obstacles, students worked extremely hard throughout the year. I would once again like to express my appreciation to the school community for their support during this difficult time. It has been very frustrating to watch the school year pass without having major sporting and cultural events take place, going on excursions, enjoying visiting performances, participating in the Anzac march or having helpers and visitors on our school grounds. I hope we are able to return to a “more normal” school life in 2021. Our annual Presentation Day will be held this Friday. It will also be impacted by departmental Covid restrictions. Major award recipients and 2021 school leaders will be announced and a note will be sent home to inform you of the winners and the ceremonies will be recorded and posted on Skoolbag for you to view. I would like to wish our school community a happy and safe holiday break and a Merry Christmas. I look forward to 2021 with enthusiasm and optimism, hoping that the coming year is much less disrupted and less eventful for us all. Rita Pittman, Principal PBL FOCUS Using respectful language. TERM 4 WEEK 9 Wednesday 9th December 2020 1

YEAR 6 FAREWELL

The Year 6 graduation was held last night here in the school hall. It was a wonderful evening that included a great meal, class presentations and enthusiastic dancing. A big thankyou to Mrs Williams for coordinating the night, Mrs Greenaway and the canteen volunteers for a fantastic meal and the Wingham Public School teachers for giving their time to attend the night. A great time was had by all and it was a delightful way to farewell the Year 6 students of 2020.

LOST PROPERTY

We have an abundance of lost property held in the office. If you are missing any items, please have your student(s) pop into the front office. Any left over items that are not been collected will be donated.

CANTEEN

Thank you to all the volunteers for their help this year at the canteen, we couldn’t have done it without you all. Also, given the year we have had with Covid restrictions we would like to thank all the parents for supporting the canteen. Another huge thank you to everyone who helped with the Year 6 Farewell Dinner. We look forward to the New Year with great anticipation and a new canteen menu. Enjoy your Christmas and New Year from Deb and Kaye. Deb Greenaway, Canteen Manager Phone 65535030
