1. Mandate Statement• The Department of Public Works through Prestige Property
Management Unit - provides furnished office and residentialg paccommodation to Prestige Clients, which includes relatedinfrastructure maintenance services, and also
• Provide infrastructure at State and Private events.
• In the main this mandate is derived from the Ministerial Handbook, cabinet decisions and other mandate documentscabinet decisions and other mandate documents

2. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provision of office accommodation and furnishing.• Provision of residential accommodation and furnishing. (State-Owned
house or alternative accommodation)• Security Infrastructure provisioning and maintenance, (State-Owned
houses and private houses used for official puroses)• Infrastructure provisioning for State and Private events (taking place

4 PROVISION OF OFFICE ACCOMMODATION4. PROVISION OF OFFICE ACCOMMODATION
• The President and the Deputy President have designated offices both in Cape Town• The President and the Deputy President have designated offices both in Cape Townand in Pretoria.
• The former Deputy President will be accommodated in the office of the now Speaker ofthe National Assembly pending a formal request from Presidency.the National Assembly pending a formal request from Presidency.
• For new departments we will take a comprehensive approach where our Key AccountsManagement will initiate the process once National Treasure has confirm budget andthe relevant department issued DPW with a Procurement Instruction.
• DPW will do optional analysis to determine an appropriate option and test the market.• Key Accounts Management, Prestige and the client will identify a section of the building
for the offices of the Minister and Deputy Minister and Prestige will undertake theconstructionconstruction.
• For old Ministries we received few requests and our officials are attending to therequests e.g Rural Development for the creation of an office for the Deputy Minister andWater and Sanitation to revamp existing offices.p g
• For Cape Town in 120 Plein the allocation has been finalised and has been sent to theMinister for approval. Rearrangement of offices to accommodate new departments

5. PROVISION OF RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
• The President and the Deputy President have designated residentailaccommodationaccommodation.
• Old Ministers and Deputy Ministers will be allocated at their current houses.• New incoming Ministers and Deputy Ministers will be allocated houses

Ministers will be vacating the houses, however letters will be sent to Minister d D Mi i h h i di h ibl d f and Deputy Minister to request that they indicate the possible date of
vacating both the Cape Town and Pretoria houses.• Letters of allocation will be sent next week for Cape Town residences.• We are acquiring few properties in Pretoria as we do not have enough

6. CONCLUSION
• Priority will be given to new Ministry and departments in relation to office and residential accommodation.
• All requests must be directed to the Minister or Director General. • More work to be done is equal to more time.
