    Na osnovu člana 5. stav 1. alineja 3. i člana 16. stav 2. alineja 3. Okvirnog zakona o visokom obrazovanju u Bosni i Hercegovini („Sl. glasnik BiH“, br. 5907) i člana 56. stav 1. Zakona o visokom obrazovanju Kantona Sarajevo („Sl. novine Kantona Sarajevo“, br.43/08), Senat Internacionalnog Burč univerziteta je na 9. sjednici, održanoj 15.06.2009. godine donio, a Upravni odbor Univerziteta, na 6. sjednici održanoj 15.07.2009. godine, odobrio

    Pursuant to Article 5, paragraph 1, indent 3 and Article 16, paragraph 2, indent 3 of the Framework Law on Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina (“Official Gazette of B&H”, No. 5907) and Article 56, paragraph 1 of the Law on Higher Education of Sarajevo Canton (“Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton”, No. 43/08), the International Burch University Senate, at its 9th session held on 15.06.2009 adopted, and the Board of Directors of International Burch University, at its session held on 15.07.2009, approved the following

    PRAVILA STUDIRANJA ZA DRUGI (II) CIKLUS STUDIJA

    NA INTERNACIONALNOM BURČ UNIVERZITETU

    OPĆE ODREDBE

    Član 1 1) Ovim pravilima bliže se reguliše organizacija

    i realizacija drugog ciklusa studija i to: organizacija studija, način upisa, trajanje studija, postupak ispitivanja i ocjenjivanja, uslovi i postupak provođenja završnog rada i druga relevantna pitanja od značaja za drugi ciklus studija na Internacionalnom Burč univerzitetu (u daljem tekstu: Univerzitet).

    2) Značenje pojmova navedenih u ovim Pravilima:

    − “IBU" Internacionalni Burč univerzitet - International Burch University,

    − "Senate", Senat Univerziteta;

    − “GSU" - Vijeće postdiplomskog studija,

    − “GEEE” Prijemni ispit za postdiplomski studij,

    − "TOEFL", IELTS – međunarodno poznati ispiti iz engleskog jezika;

    − “GRE” - test sposobnosti koji se koristi kao prijemni ispit za upis na postdiplomske studij (GMAT za Odsjek za menadžment).

    UPIS NA DRUGI CIKLUS STUDIJA Član 2

    1) Upis na drugi ciklus studija vrši se na osnovu javnog konkursa koji objavljuje Univerzitet, o čemu odluku donosi Senat Univerziteta.

    2) Broj studenata za upis na drugi ciklus studija utvrđuje Senat Univerziteta, uz saglasnost osnivača Univerziteta.

    RULES OF STUDY FOR SECOND STUDY CYCLE AT INTERNATIONAL BURCH

    UNIVERSITY GENERAL PROVISIONS

    Article 1 1) These rules regulate more closely the

    organization and implementation of the second study cycle, namely: organization of study, manner of enrollment, duration of study, procedure of examination and evaluation, requirements and procedure of conducting final work, and other relevant issues important for the second study cycle at the International Burch University (hereinafter referred to as: the University).

    2) The terms mentioned in this Regulation refers to:

    − "IBU" refers to International Burch University,

    − "Senate", International Burch University Senate,

    − GSU ="Graduate Study Unit",

    − GEEE= Graduate Education Entrance Exam,

    − "TOEFL", IELTS or similar, internationally known English Language proficiency exams,

    − GRE refers to graduate record exam (GMAT for Business Department).

    SECOND STUDY CYCLE ADMISSION Article 2

    1) Admission to the second study cycle is carried out on the basis of public advertisement, published by the University, and by decision of the University Senate.

    2) The number of students for admission to cycle second study is determined by the University Senate and by agreement of the founders of the University.

    Član 3 1) Pravo upisa na drugi ciklus studija imaju

    kandidati sa završenim prvim ciklusom studija.

    2) Kandidat koji je ispunio uslov iz stava 1 ovog člana ima pravo upisa i na programe iz drugih oblasti koje se razlikuju od oblasti studijskog programa prvog ciklusa studija koji je završio, pod uslovima koje utvrdi Vijeće postdiplomskog studija.

    Član 4 1) Upis na postdiplomski studij za naučni

    stepen magistra zavisi od akademskog uspjeha kandidata na dodiplomskom studiju, postignutim rezultatima iz GEEE, GRE, nivou poznavanja engleskog jezika i ocjeni kriterija koji postavlja Senat Univerziteta.

    2) Za upis na naučni stepen magistra, kandidati moraju posjedovati stepen diplomiranog studenta i minimalni postignuti rezultat na prijemnom ispitu za postdiplomski studij (GEEE) koji utvrdi Senat Univerziteta.

    3) Strukturu GEEE ispita utvrđuje Vijeće Postdiplomskog studija.

    4) GEEE se može sastojati iz usmenog i pismenog dijela.

    5) Bliže uslove za upis kandidata iz prethodnog stava utvrđuje Senat Univerziteta.

    Član 5 1) Nivo znanja engleskog jezika kandidata

    ocjenjuje se prema rezultatu ispita iz poznavanja engleskog jezika (IBU EPE) ili ekvivalentnim rezultatima postignutim na drugim ispitima iz poznavanja engleskog jezika koje odredi Senat Univerziteta.

    2) Za upis na naučni stepen magistra, Senat Univerziteta utvrđuje prihvatljivi rezultat postignut na ovim ispitima.

    Article 3 1) The applicants who have completed the first

    cycle study have the right of admission to the second study cycle.

    2) An applicant who has met the requirements of previous sentence shall also have the right to enroll in programs of other fields which are different from the field of the first study cycle s/he completed, under the conditions set by the Graduate Study Unit.

    Article 4 1) Admission to masters programs is based on

    applicants' academic success in the undergraduate program, the score they got on the GEEE, GRE general or GMAT, their level of English language proficiency, and the evaluation of other criteria required and announced by the University Senate.

    2) For admission into a master study program, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree, and the minimum Graduate Education Entrance Exam (GEEE) score determined by the University Senate.

    3) Structure of the GEEE is determined by the GSU.

    4) GEEE may contain written part or oral part. 5) Detailed requirements for admission into a

    master's study program is determined by the University Senate.

    Article 5 1) Applicants' level of English knowledge is

    evaluated according to the result of the IBU English Proficiency Examination (IBU EPE) or according to the equivalent results of other English language proficiency exams specified by the University Senate.

    2) For admission into a master's study program, the acceptable score on these exams is determined by the University Senate.

    Član 6 1) Kandidat koji je ostvario pravo na upis, a u

    predviđenom roku nije izvršio upis, gubi pravo upisa, a umjesto njega pravo na upis stiče sljedeći kvalifikovani kandidat na rang listi.

    2) Student sa Univerzitetom zaključuje ugovor o studiranju, kojim se bliže utvrđuju njihova međusobna prava i obaveze.

    Član 7 Strani državljani imaju pravo upisa na studij drugog ciklusa pod jednakim uslovima kao i državljani Bosne i Hercegovine u skladu sa Zakonom.

    Upis putem prelaza Član 8

    1) Student koji je trenutno upisan na naučni stepen magistra na IBU ili nekoj drugoj ustanovi, i koji je uspješno završio najmanje jedan semestar, po dostavljanju svih potrebnih dokumenata prije početka semestra, može se prebaciti na studij za naučni stepen magistra na odgovarajučem nivou na IBU.

    2) Student koji prelazi na IBU sa drugog univerziteta mora biti uspješan na ispitu iz znanja engleskog jezika na IBU ili na ekvivalentnom ispitu iz engleskog jezika.

    3) Kreditni ekvivalent za studente koji prelaze sa univerziteta gdje je dužina semestra drugačija od IBU, utvrđuje Vijeće postdiplomskog studija.

    Član 9 1) Studentu koji je položio ispit na drugom

    studijskom programu priznaje se položeni ispit, ako predmet iz kojeg je ispit položen, po svojoj sadržini i obimu odgovara predmetu koji je student upisao, što se dokazuje dokumentima predviđenim ECTS pravilima.

    2) Ako predmet iz kojeg je ispit položen po svojoj sadržini i obimu približno odgovara predmetu koji je student upisao, nastavnik

    Article 6 1) The applicant who qualifies for admission, but

    has failed to complete the registration within the prescribed time, loses the right of enrollment and instead the next eligible applicant from the list is entitled to the right of enrollment.

    2) Student shall enter a study agreement with the University, establishing more closely their mutual rights and obligations.

    Article 7 Foreign nationals are eligible to enroll the second study cycle under the same conditions as nationals of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Act.

    Admission Through Transfer Article 8

    1) A student who is currently enrolled in a master's program of higher education at IBU or another institution and has successfully completed at least one semester, upon submitting all required documents before the initial semester, may transfer to a master’s program at the appropriate level at IBU.

    2) Students who transfer to IBU from another university must successfully pass the IBU English Proficiency Exam or an equivalent English examination.

    3) The credit equivalency for students who transfer from universities where the length of a semester is different from IBU is determined by the Department with the approval of the GSU.

    Article 9 1) Student who passed an exam at another

    University is recognized as passing the exam, provided the course s/he passed corresponds by its content and volume to the course s/he enrolled, proving this equivalency by the documents required by ECTS rules.

    2) If the course which is passed is approximate by its contents and volume to the course in which the student has enrolled, the teaching staff may

    može priznati ispit u cjelini ako je ocijenio da je student kroz obrađeni i položeni program stekao znanje i vještine u mjeri dovoljnoj za priznavanje ispita.

    3) Priznavanjem ispita priznaje se i ocjena kojom je student ocijenjen na ispitu.

    4) Broj bodova priznatog ispita utvrđuje se u skladu sa pravilima ECTS.

    Član 10 1) Ako postoji razlika u nastavnim

    programima položenih predmeta, utvrđuje se odgovarajuća razlika predmeta ili dijela predmeta koje je student dužan položiti.

    2) Student je dužan da u daljem školovanju na Univerzitetu položi utvrđenu razliku ispita i da stekne broj kredit-bodova predviđenih za upis u naredne godine studija u skladu sa odredbama ovih Pravila.

    3) Nakon okončanja postupka priznavanja položenih ispita, studentu prelazniku utvrđuje se status studenta na Univerzitetu.

    Upis na pripremni program iz engleskog jezika

    Član 11 1) Kandidatima za koje se utvrdi da im nivo

    uspjeha zadovoljava upis na studij za naučni stepen magistra, ali nisu uspjeli položiti ispit iz znavanja engleskog jezika ili nisu polagali ispit iz znanja engleskog jezika, daje se maksimalno godina dana da usavrše svoj engleski jezik.

    2) Kandidati moraju biti uspješni na IBU ili ekvivalentnom ispitu iz poznavanja engleskog jezika u ovom periodu.

    3) Između kandidata koji nisu uspjeli da polože ispit iz znanja engleskog jezika, Senat Univerziteta odlučuju koji su studenti kvalifikovani za upis na program engleskog

    recognize the entire examination, if it is found that the student, through a concluded and passed program, gained knowledge and skills to an extent sufficient for recognition of the examination.

    3) By recognizing the exam, the obtained grade in the course is also recognized.

    4) The number of points of the recognized examination shall be determined in accordance with the rules of ECTS.

    Article 10 1) If there is a difference in the curricula of the

    passed courses, the relevant difference between the courses or parts of courses shall be established, and the student is obliged to complete it.

    2) The student is required to complete the established difference in the examination during his further education at the University and to acquire necessary number of ECTS needed for enrollment in the next years of study in accordance with the provisions of these Rules.

    3) Upon completion of the procedure of the recognition of passed examinations, the transfer student is determined to have the status of student at the University.

    Admission to English Preparatory Program Article 11

    1) Applicants whose level of success is found sufficient to be accepted into a master’s program but who fail in the English Proficiency Exam or did not take the English Proficiency Exam are given a maximum of a one year period to improve their English.

    2) Applicants must be successful in the IBU or an equivalent English proficiency examination within this period.

    3) From among those who fail in the English proficiency examination, the University Senate decides which of the students are eligible to register for the English Language

    ORGANIZACIJA DRUGOG CIKLUSA STUDIJA

    Član 12 Univerzitet, odnosno fakulteti Univerziteta organizuju i realizuju drugi ciklus studija iz oblasti za koje su akreditovani.

    Član 13 1) Vijeće postdiplomskog studija upravlja

    drugim i trećim ciklusom studija (u daljem: tekstu Vijeće studija).

    2) Vijeće studija sačinjavaju šefovi odsjeka na kojim se izvodi postdiplomski studij.

    3) Vijećem studija rukovodi Rukovodilac Vijeće studija.

    4) Rukovodioca Vijeća studija imenuje Senat Univerziteta iz reda nastavnika u radnom odnosu na Univerzitetu.

    Član 14 Vijeće studija rješava sva pitanja koja se odnose na organizaciju i tok studiranja, te naročito:

    − utvrđuje uslove za upis na programe iz drugih oblasti koje se razlikuju od oblasti studijskog programa prvog i drugog ciklusa studija koji je završio;

    − utvrđuje strukturu GEEE ispita;

    − utvrđuje kreditni ekvivalent za studente koji prelaze sa univerziteta gdje je dužina semestra drugačija od IBU;

    − utvrđuje uslove i druga pitanja zamjene registrovanih predmeta;

    − na prijedlog odgovarajućeg odsjeka, donosi odluke o imenovanju mentora, komentora, kao i odluku o promjeni mentora.

    − imenuje komisiju za provođenje kvalifikacionog doktorskog ispita;

    − imenuje Nadzorni odbor za izradu teze;

    Program offered by the Preparatory School of English Language Department of IBU.

    ORGANIZATION OF SECOND STUDY CYCLE

    Article 12 The University and related departments of the University organize and implement the second study cycle in the area for which they are accredited.

    Article 13 1) The Graduate Study Unit governs the second

    and third study cycles (hereinafter referred to: the GSU).

    2) The GSU is comprised of heads of departments where post-graduate study is undertaken.

    3) The GSU manages the Head of the GSU. 4) The Head of GSU is appointed by the

    University Senate from among the teachers employed at the University.

    Article 14 The GSU resolves all issues relating to the organization and course of study.

    The GSU has the authority to:

    − define conditions for students’ enrollment to the programs which are different from the field of the first and second study cycle s/he completed;

    − to determine the structure of the GEEE;

    − determine the credit equivalency for students who transfer from universities where the length of a semester is different from IBU;

    − determine the course substitution and resolve the transfer issues;

    − appoint a supervisor, co-supervisor, or change the supervisor;

    − appoint the Doctoral Qualifying Jury

    − appoint a Thesis Supervising Committee;

    − imenuje komisije u postupku sticanja akademske titule, odnosno naučnog zvanja drugog i trećeg ciklusa studija;

    − daje inicijativu Senatu za razmatranje pitanja iz domena organizacije studija drugog i trećeg ciklusa studija;

    − obavlja druge poslove i zadatke utvrđene ovim Pravilima ili drugim aktom Univerziteta.

    Za svoj rad odgovara Senatu Univerziteta.

    Zajednički/multidisciplinarni studijski program

    Član 15 1) Univerzitet može organizovati i izvoditi

    studij drugog ciklusa iz jedne ili više naučnih oblasti, na dva ili više fakulteta Univerziteta ili zajedno sa drugom visokoškolskom ustanovom iz zemlje ili inostranstva, uz saglasnost matičnog fakulteta (u daljem tekstu: zajednički studijski program) i u skladu sa Zakonom.

    2) Zajednički studijski program mogu organizovati fakulteti iz naučnih oblasti za koje su matične.

    3) Odluku o organizovanju zajedničkog studijskog programa donosi Senat Univerziteta.

    4) Odlukom o organizovanju zajedničkog studijskog programa utvrđuju se sva pitanja za ovaj studij, a posebno program studija, način organizacije studija, te akademska titula i zvanje koje se stiče završetkom studija.

    5) Predlagači zajedničkog studija utvrđuju program, koji je usvojen od strane nadležnih tijela svih učesnika u programu.

    Član 16 Organizatori zajedničkog studijskog programa zaključuju ugovor kojim se regulišu: uslovi i načini realizacije nastave, procedure odobravanja i odbrane završnog rada, korištenje prostora i

    − appointing juries for the process of obtaining an academic title for the second and third study cycles;

    − give the initiative to the University Senate to address the issues related to the organization of the second and third study cycles;

    − perform other activities in accordance with this Rulebook and other norms of the University.

    Joint / Multi-Disciplinary Study Program Article 15

    1) The University may organize and conduct the second study cycle in one or more scientific fields, at two or more faculties of the University or jointly with other higher education institutions in the country or abroad, with the consent of the parent faculty (hereinafter referred to as: a joint degree program) in accordance with the law.

    2) The joint degree program may be organized by faculties from scientific fields for which they are parent.

    3) Decision as to organization of a joint program is made by the University Senate.

    4) Decision as to organization of a joint program determines all issues for this study, and in particular the program of study, mode of study, and academic title and the profession acquired at graduation.

    5) Proponents of the joint study program establish the program adopted by the relevant bodies of all those who participate in the program.

    Article 16 The organizers of the joint program enter a contract regulating: conditions and means of implementing courses, procedures for approval and defense of final work, use of space and

    opreme, uslovi stjecanja i raspoređivanja sredstava, rukovođenje studijem, kod koga će se voditi evidencija o studentu (upis, izdavanje uvjerenja, diploma i sl.), i druga prava i obveze organizatora zajedničkog studijskog programa.

    VREDNOVANJE RADA STUDENATA Član 17

    1) Studenti moraju sredinom semestra polagati ispit i/ili završiti druge zadane projekte/domaće zadatke tokom semestra a, pored toga, moraju polagati završni ispit i/ili kompletirati završni projekt radi ocjene iz predmeta.

    2) Univerzitet će odrediti i najaviti vrijeme i mjesto završnih ispita.

    3) Završnu ocjenu studentima daje predmetni nastavnik.

    4) Završna ocjena se bazira na ocjeni iz parcijalnih ispita, ocjeni završnog ispita i/ili ocjeni završnog projekta i evidenciji pohađanja.

    5) Studentima koji su propustili bilo koji ispit može se odobriti popravni ispit, pod uslovom da nadležni odsjek utvrdi da je postojao valjan razlog za neprisustvovanje ispitu.

    Ocjenjivanje Član 18

    1) Za svaki ispit koji studenti polažu predmetni nastavnici dodjeljuju jednu od dolje navedenih slovnih ili brojčanih ocjena kao ocjenu na kraju semestra. Sistem ocjenjivanja na IBU je slijedeći:

    equipment, terms of acquisition and allocation of resources, managing study, who will keep student’s record (enrollment, issuance of certificates, diplomas, etc.) other rights and duties of the organizers of the joint program.

    COURSE EXAMINATIONS AND EVALUATION

    Article 17 1) Students are required to take a mid-term

    examination and/or complete other assigned projects/homework during the semester and, additionally, are required to take a final examination and/or complete a final project for course evaluation.

    2) The University will determine and announce the time and place of final examinations.

    3) Students will be given a final grade by the course instructor.

    4) The final grade will be based on the mid-term examination grade, the final examination grade and/or evaluation of final project, and the attendance record.

    5) Students who miss any examination may be given a make-up examination provided the Department determines that there is a valid reason for missing the examination.

    Course grades Article 18

    1) For each course students take, they will be given one of the letter grades listed below by the instructor of the course as the end-of-term course grade. The grading system at IBU is as follows:

    3) Slovna ocjena (I) dodjeljuje se studentima koji su u postupku prolazne ocjene, ali, po mišljenju predmetnog nastavnika, ne mogu ispuniti zahtjeve iz predmeta zbog bolesti ili nekih drugih valjanih razloga. Studenti koji prime ocjenu (I) moraju ispuniti propuštene nastavne uslove u roku od 15 dana od slanja ocjene Studentskoj službi za postdiplomski studij. Inače će ocjena (I) automatski postati F. U slučaju produženja bolesti ili sličnih situacija, ovaj period se može produžiti do početka upisa u slijedeći semestar, po preporuci Odsjeka i uz odobrenje Vijeća studija.

    4) Slovna ocjena (S) se dodjeljuje studentima koji su uspješno završili svoje teze. Slovna ocjena (S) se također dodjeljuje za nekreditne predmete koji su uspješno završeni.

    5) Slovna ocjena (U) se daje studentima koji nisu uspjeli da postignu zadovoljavajući napredak na završnom radu. Ova ocjena se koristi također za nekreditne predmete kada studenti ne polože ispit.

    have a passing grade but are unable to complete the requirements of a course because of sickness or some other valid reason granted by the course instructor. Students receiving a letter grade of (I) must complete the missing class requirements within 15 days after the grade has been sent to the Graduate Students' Affairs Office. Otherwise, the (I) grade will automatically become an F. In case of prolonged illness or similar situations, this period can be extended until the beginning of registration for the next semester upon recommendation of the Department and subject to approval of the GSU.

    4) The letter grade (S) is given to students who successfully complete their final work. The letter grade (S) is also given for non-credit courses that have been completed successfully.

    5) The letter grade (U) is given to students who fail to make satisfactory progress on their final work. This grade is also used for non-credit courses which students fail.

    8) Ocjenu (N) daje predmetni nastavnik ako se predmet, u okviru programa ili programa u kojem je student upisan, polaže pod “uslovom da nije uključena u Kumumaltivni prosjek bodovnih ocjena“. Ova ocjena je prikazana na transkriptu studenta sa slovnom ocjenom dobivenom iz odnosnog predmeta. Takvi se predmeti na uzimaju u obzir tokom ocjenjivanja, bez obzira da li se predmet može brojati kao dio programa ili programa u kojem je student upisan.

    Greške u ocjenjivanju Član 19

    1) U slučaju da se ustanove greške u konačnim ocjenama koje objavi Studentska služba za postdiplomski studij na kraju semestra, proceduru ispravke ocjena obavlja relevantan nastavnik predmeta, uz odobrenje Odsjeka.

    2) Otkrivene greške u semestarskim ocjenama moraju se ispraviti najdalje tokom upisa u slijedeći semestar.

    6) The letter grade (P) is given to students who are making adequate progress on their final work.

    7) The letter grade (EX) is given for the courses taken by transfer students at other institutions provided such courses are accepted as equivalent to IBU courses and counted as part of the minimum course load.

    8) The grade (NI) is given if courses within the program or programs in which a student is registered are taken on the "condition that they are not included in the Cumulative Grade Point Average". This grade is indicated on the student's transcript together with the letter grade received from the relevant course. Such courses are not considered during the process of evaluating whether a course can count as part of the program or programs in which a student is registered.

    9) The grade (NA) is issued by the instructor of the course when a student does not fulfill the attendance and/or application requirements of the course. The grade (NA) is included in the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) as (F).

    10) The semester course grades become final when they are submitted to the Graduate Students' Affairs Office, where the grades are announced.

    Errors in grading

    Article 19 1) In the event any errors are found in the final

    grades announced by the Graduate Students' Affairs Office at the end of the semester, the procedure for correcting the error is for the relevant course instructor to apply for a correction, subject to approval of their Department.

    2) Errors discovered in grades for semester grades must be corrected, at the latest, during registration for the next semester.

    Prosjek ocjena Član 20

    (1) Akademski rang studenta se određuje obračunavanjem generalnog prosjeka ocjena na kraju svakog semestra.

    (2) Ukupni kreditni bodovi se dobiju množenjem kreditnih sati iz predmeta sa koeficijentom konačne ocjene.

    (3) Prosjek ocjena (GPA) svakog semestra se dobije dijeljenjem ukupnih semestralnih kreditnih poena sa brojem kreditnih sati koje su imali studenti u tom semestru.

    (4) Dobiveni GPA se izvodi sa dva decimalna mjesta.

    (5) Kumulativna prosječna ocjena (CGPA) se bazira na svim polaganim ispitima od vremena upisa na studij i svim predmetima koji zadovoljavaju minimalno predmetno opterećenje koje je propisao Odsjek.

    (6) Posljednja ocjena koja je dobivena iz ponovljenog predmeta se koristi u kalkulaciji kumulatine prosječne ocjene (CGPA).

    (7) Sve ocjene se prikazuju na transkriptu/uvjerenju o položenim ispitima studenta.

    GUBITAK STATUSA STUDENTA Član 21

    Student gubi status studenta iz slijedećih razloga:

    1) ako je kumulativna prosječna ocjena manja od 6/10 (E) na kraju drugog ili bilo kojeg slijedećeg semestra,

    2) ako student dobije slovnu ocjenu “U“ iz završnog rada dva puta zaredom ili tri puta sa prekidima,

    3) ako studenti na doktoratu nisu realizovali minimalno traženo predmetno opterećenje, koje je propisao odsjek, u okviru 4 semestra,

    Grade point average Article 20

    1) A student's academic standing is determined by calculating the general grade point average at the end of each semester.

    2) The total credit points for a course is obtained by multiplying the credit hours of the course by coefficient of the final grade.

    3) The grade point average (GPA) of any semester is obtained by dividing the semester's total credit points by the number of credit hours taken by the students for that semester.

    4) The obtained GPA is rounded to two decimal points.

    5) The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is based on all courses taken from the time of admission to the graduate program and all the courses taken to meet the minimal course load stipulated by the Department.

    6) The most recent grade obtained for a repeated course is used in the calculation of the cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

    7) All grades, however, are shown on the student's transcript.

    DISMISSAL Article 21

    Graduate students are dismissed from their programs for the following reasons: 1) If a student's cumulative grade point average

    is less than 8/10 (E) at the end of the second semester or any of the following semesters,

    2) If a student receives the letter grade "U" for final work twice in a row or three times intermittently,

    3) If the minimum required course load specified by the Department is not completed within four semesters by students in a master’s program with a thesis.

    4) ako student ima kumulativni prosjek ocjene (CGPA) manju od (D) 7/10 na kraju ovih perioda,

    5) ako nadležna komisija odbije, odnosno ne prihvati tezu,

    6) ako nadležna komisija odbije, odnosno ne prihvati korigovanu tezu,

    7) ako student ne uspije na ispitu iz poznavanja engleskog jezika IBU ili bilo kojeg ekvivalentnog ispita koje je propisao Senat Univerziteta u roku predviđenom propisima,

    8) ako prijedlog teze bude odbačen od strane nadležne komisije dva puta,

    9) ako studenti ne završe studijski program u predviđenom roku;

    10) kao i zbog drugih razloga predviđenih drugim propisima Univerziteta.

    MAGISTARSKI PROGRAM SA/BEZ TEZE Član 22

    1) Studijski programom drugog ciklusa studija može biti organizovan za i bez teze.

    2) Predmet studija za naučni stepen magistra sa tezom je da studenti steknu znanje kroz naučno istraživanje, procjenu i da sami izvode zaključke o onome šta su naučili.

    3) Cilj studija za naučni stepen magistra bez magistarske teze je da se studentu pruži duboko znanje iz određenog stručnog predmeta i pokaže kako koristiti postojeće znanje.

    Član 23 O prijelazu sa studijskog programa sa tezom na studijski programa bez teze, na zahjtev studenta i prijedlog odsjeka, odlučuje Vijeće studija.

    Trajanje drugog ciklusa studija Član 24

    1) Drugi ciklus studija u pravilu traje jednu ili dvije godine čijim završetkom se stiče 60 ili

    MASTER PROGRAM WITH/ WITHOUT THESIS

    Article 22 1) A master's program can be administered

    with a thesis and without a thesis. 2) The objective of the master’s program with

    thesis is to allow students to learn through scientific research, evaluation, and coming to their own conclusions.

    3) The objective of Master program without thesis is to provide students deep knowledge in a professional subject and to demonstrate how to use the existing knowledge.

    Article 23 Transfer between programs master's with thesis and master's without thesis can be evaluated by the GSU upon application of the student and the recommendation of the Department.

    Duration of Second Cycle Study Article 24

    1) The second study cycle lasts, as a rule one or two years, upon which the completion of 60

    2) U skladu sa evropskim sistemom prenosa bodova (E)CTS obim studijskog programa iznosi 60 (E)CTS bodova u jednoj studijskoj godini, odnosno 30 (E)CTS bodova u jednom semestru.

    3) Studijski programi drugog ciklusa studija podijeljeni su na studijske godine i semestre.

    4) Broj studijskih bodova za pojedini predmet određuje se prema ukupnom opterećenju studenta (teorijska i/ili praktična nastava, vježbe, seminari i sl.), vremenu rada studenta na samostalnim zadacima (domaći zadaci, projekti, seminarski radovi i sl.) i vremenu za učenje kod pripreme za provjeru znanja i ocjenjivanja (testovi, završni ispit i sl.).

    5) Studentima, koji polože predmete predviđene planom i programom, ali ne urade završni rad u predviđenom roku, daje se dodatna dva semestra za izradu istih.

    Imenovanje mentora Član 25

    1) Za sve upisane studente odsjek imenuje savjetnika. Savjetnik je odgovoran za pružanje pomoći novoupisanim studentima u pitanjima vezanim za registraciju predmeta, semestra, određivanje teme završnog rada i ostalih akademskih pitanja.

    2) Do kraja prvog semestra, a najkasnije do početka drugog semestra odsjek predlaže mentora za studente. Mentor je odgovoran za savjetovanje studenata u pogledu izbora predmeta i završnog rada.

    3) Mentori teza se biraju među članovima fakultetskog osoblja iz odnosne oblasti ili sa drugih univerziteta kadgod je potrebno.

    2) In accordance with the European Credit Transfer System (E)CTS, the range of program is 60 (E) CTS points in one year of study, and 30 (E) CTS credits in one semester.

    3) Study programs of the second study cycle are divided into academic years and semesters.

    4) The number of study credits for an individual course is determined by the total student workload (theoretical and/or practical classes, tutorials, seminars, etc.), the time of student work on independent tasks (homework, projects, seminars, etc.) and time for learning in preparation for knowledge assessment and evaluation (tests, final exam, etc.).

    5) Students, who complete the required course work and the seminar course but cannot complete the final work (graduate project for non-thesis program, master thesis with thesis program) until the end of the mentioned semester are given 2 additional semesters to complete the final work.

    Appointment of Supervisor Article 25

    1) For newly enrolled graduate students, an advisor may be appointed by the Department. The advisor is responsible for providing the student with guidance in connection with course registration, determining the subject of final work and other academic matters.

    2) By the end of the first semester, no later than the beginning of the student's second semester, a supervisor for the student is proposed by the Department. The supervisor gives advice concerning the course selection and final work.

    3) Final work supervisors are chosen from the faculty staff members in a related field or from other universities, when necessary.

    4) Ako predmet teze zahtjeva više od jednog mentora, može se imenovati komentor.

    5) Mentora za završni rad studenta imenuje GSU na prijedlog odgovarajućeg odsjeka.

    6) Student u saradnji sa mentorom bira temu završnog rada nakon završetka prvog semestra, a najkasnije do kraja posljednjeg semestra.

    7) Izuzetno, usljed postojanja opravdanih razloga, rokovi iz prethodnih stava, odlukom Vijeća studija, mogu biti produženi.

    8) Izabranu temu student pismeno prijavljuje putem formulara kojeg utvrđuje Vijeće studija.

    Završni rad Član 26

    1) Studijskim programom drugog ciklusa studija može biti predviđen završni (diplomski odnosno magistarski) rad.

    2) Završni rad podrazumijeva i uključuje diplomski projekat/rad (magistarski program bez teze) i magistarsku tezu (magistarski program sa tezom).

    3) Student koji je završio studijsko istraživanje mora napisati završni rad koristeći prikupljene podatke, slijedeći pravila navedena u Pravilniku za izradu završnog rada.

    4) Završni rad je nazavisni rad studenta u kojem on elaborira izabranu temu, koristeći naučne i tehničke metode, time pokazujući da je savladao studijski program, stekao potrebno znanje i osposobio se da ga primjenjuje.

    5) Vrijeme početka izrade završnog rada mora biti usklađeno sa obimom završnog rada tako da student može pristupiti odbrani završnog rada najkasnije do kraja semestra, a obavezno prije početka upisa u naredni ciklus studija.

    4) If the student's, subject of final work subject requires more than one supervisor, a co-supervisor may be appointed.

    5) Final work supervisor/advisor for the student is appointed on the recommendation of the relevant department administration and with the approval of the GSU.

    6) The student, in cooperation with his/her advisor/supervisor, selects the topic of the final work after the first semester and no later than the end of last semester.

    7) Exceptionally, due to justified reasons, the terms under the preceding sentence, may be adjusted by a decision of the GSU.

    8) The student announces the selected topic using the form prescribed by the GSU.

    Final Work Article 26

    1) Study program of the second study cycle can envision the final work (master’s program with thesis and without thesis).

    2) Final work is considered to includes the graduate project (master’s program without thesis) and master thesis (master’s program with thesis ).

    3) A student must write a final work, using the data collected, according to the specifications of the IBU Final Work Writing Guide.

    4) The final work is an independent work in which the student elaborates the chosen topics using scientific and technical methods, and proves that he has mastered the curriculum of study, acquired the necessary knowledge and become capable of its implementation.

    5) The time to start the final work must be coordinated with the scope of the final work so that the student can defend the final work not later than the end of the semester, and necessarily prior to enrollment in the next study cycle.

    6) Završni rad se piše na engleskom jeziku

    (Odsjek za orijentalnu filologiju je izuzetak).

    KOMISIJA ZA OCJENU I ODBRANU ZAVRŠNOG RADA

    Član 27 1) Student na studiju za naučni stepen magistra

    mora napisati članak uz koautorstvo svog mentora i isti obajviti u zbornicima odgovarajućih međunarodnih konferencija, kao minimalni uslov pristupa postupku odbrane završnog rada.

    2) U nekim slučajevima, pismeno odoborenje o članku koje daje mentor ili urednik časopisa se može prihvatiti.

    3) Završni rad se brani na engleskom jeziku (Odsjek za orijentalnu filologiju-na turskom jeziku) pred komisijom.

    Član 28 1) Student čiji je završni rad prihvaćen od

    strane mentora aplicira odgovarajućem odsjeku u cilju pristupa odbrani završnog rada. Šef odsjeka dostavlja jedan primjerak završnog rada, zajedno sa prijedlogom komisije za ocjenu i odbranu završnog rada, Vijeću studija.

    2) Krajnnji rok za odbranu završnog rada definisan je akademskim kalendarom.

    3) Vijeće studija, na prijedlog odgovarajućeg odsjeka, imenuje Komisiju za ocjenu i odbranu završnog rada (u daljem tekstu Komisija).

    4) Komisija broji 3 do 5 članova. 5) Jedan od članova komisije je i mentor. 6) Jedan od članova komisije može biti sa

    drugog odsjeka ili druge visokoškolske ustanove.

    7) U slučaju da komisija broji 3 člana, komentor ne može biti član Komisije.

    JURY FOR EVALUATION AND DEFENSE OF FINAL WORK

    Article 27 1) A master’s student must write an article with

    the co-authorship of his/her supervisor for publication it in the proceedings of a related international conference as a minimum requirement, prior to the defense of his/her final work.

    2) Written approval of the article by the supervisor or the editor of the journal may be accepted in some cases.

    3) The final work must be defended in English (for Department of Oriental Philology, Turkish), before a jury.

    Article 28 1) A student whose final work has been

    accepted by the final work supervisor applies to the Department to defend the final work. The Department Head sends one copy of the final work, with the jury's recommendation, to the GSU.

    2) The deadline for defending the final work is stipulated by the Academic Calendar.

    3) The final work jury is appointed on the recommendation of the relevant Department Head and with the approval of the GSU.

    4) The jury is composed of 3 to 5 faculty members.

    5) One of the panel members is the supervisor. 6) Of the appointed jury members, up to one

    may be selected from another Department or another University.

    7) In case the jury consists of 3 members, the co-supervisor cannot be the jury member.

    Član 29 1) Komisija organizuje odbranu završnog rada u

    roku od 30 dana od dana dostave završnog rada.

    2) Odbrana završnog rada se sastoji od prezentacije rezultata završnog rada, popraćenih pitanjima i odgovorima koji su otvoreni za javnost.

    3) Student prezentira rad, obrazlažući predmet, zadatke, metode rada, postignuti rezultat, diskusiju o rezultatima i zaključak.

    4) Odbrana završnog rada, koja se sastoji iz praktičnog i pisanog dijela može se realizirati u dva dijela, ali u roku koji ne može biti duži od sedam dana nakon izvođenja praktičnog rada. Ako se završni rad sastoji od dva dijela (praktični izvedbeni i pisani rad) student prvo izvede praktični dio, a zatim pristupi usmenoj odbrani pisanog rada.

    Član 30 1) Većinom glasova članova komisije utvrđuje

    se rezultat odbrane završnog rada. Glasanje može biti: „prihvaćeno“, „odbijeno“ ili „izmjene“.

    2) Šef odsjeka će pismenim putem, u roku od tri dana od održane odbrane, informisati Vijeće studija o odluci Komisije. Za ispravku ili izmjenu završnog rada za koji je Komisija odlučila da je nepotpun i/ili neadekvatan, Komisija mora u svom izvještaju naglasiti da su takve ispravke neophodne.

    3) Odlukom Vijeća studija, studentu može biti odobren dodatni rok do tri mjeseca za ispravku završnog rada.

    4) Nakon toga student mora pristupiti ponovnoj odbrani završnog rada.

    5) Student mora registrovati semestar u kome u kome vrši ispravku završnog rada.

    Article 29 1) Jury members conduct a defense of the final

    work within one month after the final work has been submitted.

    2) The defense of the final work consists of a presentation of the final work study, followed by a question and answer period, which is open to an audience.

    3) The student presents his/her work, explaining the objectives, tasks, method of working, results obtained, discussion of results and conclusions.

    4) The defense of the final work, which consists of practical and oral parts, can be accomplished in two parts, but within the period not longer than seven days after the delivery of practical work. If the final work consists of two parts (practically delivered and written work) the student shall first deliver the practical part, and then start the oral defense of the written work.

    Article 30 1) A majority vote by the jury members

    determines the outcome of the defense of the final work. The vote can be for "acceptance", "rejection" or "correction".

    2) The Department Head will inform the GSU, in writing, of the jury's decision within 3 days. To correct or change a final work found incomplete and/or inadequate by the jury, the jury must specify in its report that such corrections are necessary.

    3) A student may be given, by a decision of the GSU, up to three months to complete the corrections.

    4) The student must then re defend the final work.

    5) Students must register for the semester in which they are correcting their final work.

    Član 31 1) Student je obavezan dostaviti primjerke

    završnog rada Vijeću studija u roku od 30 dana od odbrane završnog rada.

    2) Vijeće studija provjerava završni rad i ukoliko ustanovi da rad ispunjava propisane kriterije, student dostavlja 5 primjeraka završnog rada u tvrdom uvezu i 5 primjeraka na CD-u.

    ISPRAVE I EVIDENCIJE O STUDIJU Član 32

    1) Student koji je položio sve ispite predviđene za upisani studijski programa drugog ciklusa studija, odbranio završni rad i ispunio sve ostale obaveze propisane Statutom Univerziteta i ovim Pravilima, stiče odgovarajući stepen, odnosno diplomu završenog drugog ciklusa studijskog programa.

    2) Uz diplomu se obavezno izdaje i dodatak diplomi radi detaljnog uvida u nivo, prirodu, sadržaj, sistem i pravila studiranja i postignute rezultate tokom studija.

    Član 33 1) Do dodjeljivanja diplome, izdaje se uvjerenje

    o završenom drugom ciklusu studija u kojem se navodi da je privremenog karaktera.

    2) Senat Univerziteta utvrđuje datum svečane promocije dodjele diploma o završenog drugom ciklusu studija.

    Član 34 Student koji odbrani završni rad upisuju se u matičnu knjigu diplomiranih studenata ili magistara.

    Article 31 1) The student must submit copies of the final

    work to the GSU within one month after defending of the final work.

    2) The GSU checks the final work, and if it is found to meet the specifications of the GSU, then the student submits five bound copies and five soft-copies (in CD) of the final work to the GSU.

    THE DOCUMENTS AND RECORDS OF STUDY

    Article 32 1) The student who has passed all examinations

    provided for the study program of the second study cycle, defended his/her final work and met all other requirements prescribed by the University Statute and these Rules, acquires a corresponding degree or a diploma of completion for the second study cycle.

    2) In addition to the diploma, a diploma supplement is issued for a detailed insight into the level, nature, content, system and rules of study and the results achieved during the study.

    Article 33 1) Until the diploma is granted, a certificate of

    completion of the second study cycle is issued, stating that it is temporary.

    2) The University Senate determines the date of the diploma award ceremony in relation to the completion of the second study cycle.

    Article 34 A student who defends the final work is registered into the Register of Graduate or Master’s Recipients.

    Na druga pitanja vezana za organizaciju nastave i način nastavnog rada, te za prava i obaveze studenta tokom studija, a koja nisu regulisana ovim Pravilima, primjenjivat će se Statut Univerziteta i Pravila studiranja za prvi ciklus studija na Univerziteta.

    Član 36 Pravila stupaju na snagu danom donošenja, a primjenjivati će se počev od školske 2009/2010. godine.

    TRANSITIONAL AND FINAL PROVISIONS

    Article 35 Other issues relating to the organization teaching and method of teaching, and to student rights and duties during studies, which are not regulated by these Regulations, shall be subject to the University Statute and Rules of study for the first study cycle at the University.

    Article 36 The Rules come into force on the date of adoption and shall apply as from the beginning of the 2009/2010 academic year.
