1930 - 201080YEARS

Ficep was founded in 1930 in the tiny village of Gazzada, Italy at the foot of the Swiss Alps.

Four generations have followed in this family business dedicating both time and effort with a passion for the quest to excel in the niche sectors of steel construction and forging industries.

In 2010 the company celebrated its first 80 years with an even closer eye on the future.

These are hydraulic punching machines of the C-frame type, with either a 500-800 mm throat depth, supplied with three selectable punch diameters.

Each punch has a punching force of kN 800 (P 51) or kN 1100 (P113) throughout its entire stroke.

The one-piece steel frame construction contains the electronics, hydraulic system and the CNC.

The CNC punching system is supplied ready to go and does not require any on-site assembly.

P 27DD is a plate drilling machine spe-cifically designed for the automatic processing of plates up to a thickness of 80mm.

Traditional systems such as radial arm drills, portable magnetic base drills, etc. have been superseded by this high speed drilling system which not only performs the drilling operations, but can also mark, tap and scribe the plates to indicate possible welding locations.

The FICEP CNC plate system models TIPO A are composed of substantial bridge style box frames.Two independent drilling heads are positioned by ball screws to the programmed locations.Each head has a 19 kW (25 HP) motor, with high spindle speed (3,000 RPM) to accommodate today’s high performance tools.

TIPO B 161TIPO B 254This CNC product line includes the models TIPO B161 and TIPO B 254. Both consist of a bridge press that includes the punching head, drilling head, tool changers, marking unit, plasma cutting unit and an oxy fuel cutting system that is capable of processing plates from 6 mm (1/4”) to 100 mm (4”) in thickness and up to 1600 mm (63”) or 2540 mm (100”) in width.The infeed and outfeed conveyors can be configured with additional sections in order to achieve the desired length of plate to be processed starting from the standard length of 6 meters (20 ft).Punching is integrated with the thermal cutting to grant maximum integrated productivity. A high performance spindle, capable of 19 kW (25 HP) and up to 3000 RPM, can be included to expand the capabilities of the Tipo B systems.The system is provided as standard with a Hypertherm HPR 260A torch for processing plates up to 38 mm (1-1/2”) in thickness. More powerful plasma units are available as an option.

TIPO CThe exclusive TIPO C is a range of models that incorporate the operations of punching, marking, drilling, boring, milling, tapping and high definition plasma cutting of large plates.

TIPO C lines are designed to accommodate the different requirements for automatically processing in one cycle large plates (up to 6000 [20 ft] x 2500 mm [8 ft] ) and in different thicknesses ranging from 2 mm (.078”) up to 20 mm (.75”), while ensuring high quality, precision, productivity and flexibility.

The TIPO C lines are flexible CNC centers capable of complying with the requirements of both traditional steel fabricators and all types of industries requiring accurate detailed components that require multiple diverse operations.

TIPO C16TIPO C25The frames of the TIPO C16 and TIPO C25 aremade of alloy steel plates that are stress-relieved prior to machining.

All machine movements are achieved with precision ball screws and guided with prismatic ways.

System assembly and alignment operations are managed with sophisticated laser equipment.

The punch tonnage, which is constant throughout the punch stroke, is generated by a special high pressure hydraulic cylinder.

This allows the use of progressive punches that considerably reduces the punching forces required.

The unique tool recognition system allows for the automatic stroke adjustment and the use of standard punches, those that have been re-sharpened or progressive punches using rake angle.

All the plasma units available take advantage of the exclusive Ficep system to control the torch height and to handle the cutting parameters, which simplifies the process and achieves maximum performance.

TIPO D4TIPO D8The versatility of the Ficep product range is further enhanced with the Type D angle and plate systems. These provide such additional capabilities as plasma cutting and a CNC controlled flat stock shear with programmable miter cutting to accomplish corner clipping and miter cuts.

The basic versions have punching stations with either 4 or 8 positions each with1100kN (121 US tons).

The punching station is combined with a 2200kN (242 US tons) rotating shear unit for cutting 510 mm (20”) wide by 25 mm (1”) thick plates.

The stock length material is positioned through the press area by a material positioning carriage that employs a rack and pinion measuring system.

Tipo D4 and D8 include the possibility to process both flats and angles.

The Gemini’s moving gantry design allows for a greater range of plate sizes and thickness.It eliminates the challenges of plate weight, stock material length and system footprint. Machine accuracy of better than 0.1mm (.004”) ensures better fit-up and less welding time.The Gemini’s high speed machine tool spindle allows fast drilling of holes from 3 mm (1/8”) to 32 mm (1-1/4”) in diameter on the HP series and up to 50 mm (2”) on the HD. For holes up to 240 mm (9-3/8”) in diameter the Gemini can mill holes to a high accuracy. The high speed spindle, combined with wide area automatic material clamping provides for a very high productivity of the most common hole sizes required.Plasma torches from 200-400 Amp and optional oxy torches can be furnished so the Gemini can cut plate from 1 mm – 80 mm (.039” – 3”) in mild steel and from 1 - 40 mm (.039” – 1.57”) in stainless, brass and aluminum. For heavy plate work the Gemini can be supplied with up to three oxy-fuel torches for accurate plate stripping or multiple part cutting.On machine parts and many structural components such requirements as slotted holes, milled bearing surfaces, etc. are required. The accuracy of the Gemini for both cutting and machining delivers unprecedented efficiency as multiple operations can be performed by one CNC system that eliminates material handling if multiple systems are utilized.

The Ficep after sales service is divided into three main areas:

START UP to train the customer’s staff, starting up and testing the machine during the installation phase.

HELP LINE following the customer’s operations and providing support when seeking faults, searching for spare parts, consumable supply, and software updates.

MAINTENANCE SERVICE providing non-routine maintenance and managing the eventual program of preventive maintenance.

Great professional experience and competence, together with excellent communication skills are among the basic and essential characteristics of all human resources employed in the Technical and After-Sales Service. The high quality of this service already starts during the installation of the machines at the customer’s premises, with in-depth training sessions. The service is organized in such a way as to provide always precise information in a very short time.

SOFTWARE

The dedicated software for Ficep lines has been studied and developed for the typical applications concerning angles, U-bars and plates. The profiles are managed according to casting plans that organise the processes and quantities thus facilitating the operator’s tasks.Programming is simple and easy to follow.All Ficep lines are pre-arranged for exchange of information with top level external computer hosts.

FICEP CNC CONTROL UNIT – MINOSSE SERIESThe new generation Minosse control unit, with 6 controlled axes, is based on a fieldbus CANopen technology.The CNC is positioned on a mobile control panel, so that the operator can have a complete view of the machine. All the input and output cards are connected to the bus and lodged on the machine, if it’s possible.

Main features• “Input” management of simplified data (tabular form)• Piece program storage, with possibility of import/ export using ASCII type files: all displays are positive and in language concerning:• Alarms inside and outside the CNC• Diagnostics and information for the operator
