‘Diet of Worms’ meal

for Lenten walkers

CLC has been participating in an

activity during the six weeks of

Lent called “Here We Walk”.

Instead of “giving up” something

for Lent, participants agreed to get

some extra movement or improve

spiritual wellness while tracking

their time on a map of Martin

Luther’s travels. As each

destination was reached, we learned

something about the sites where the

Reformation happened 500 years

ago.

Those who participated will be

treated to a special meal, “A Diet of

Worms” and may even win a prize.

Join in the fun on Sunday evening,

April 23, at 5:30 pm in the CLC

fellowship hall. Our local Lutheran

friends from Trinity have been

invited to join us.

Day Camp coming to

CLC June 19-22 Mark your calendars! June 19-22,

CLC will host a community Day

Camp with a team from Riverside

Lutheran Bible Camp providing the

program.

This year’s theme is “Rooted”

based on Colossians 2:6-7. Kids

will learn more about who Jesus is,

how He came to love and serve

others, and how we can be a part of

doing the same.

We will be looking for daily

helpers, food donations and housing

volunteer. More information will be

coming.

REFORMATION 500

For information on ways our congregations can observe the 500th anniversary

of the Reformation, visit www.elca500.org/resources/

On October 31, 1517, a man named Martin Luther stood by

a church door in Wittenberg, Germany, with a large sheet of

paper, a pocketful of nails and a hammer. He posted a list of

sentences about God’s grace and free forgiveness. This list

is called the 95 Theses. Luther’s bold action that day

spurred what would become the Protestant Reformation,

changing the course of Western Civilization.
