    Procession to the seated area

    People HOSANNA! HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST!

    Deacon C moves at second Alleluia cycle to lead the processioninto the seating area,

    pauses at the lectern to light the candle-lighters wick,

    continues on to light the candles at the Presiderschair,

    stands to the Presiders left, with the candle,checking now to see where readers are seated.

    Deacon B follows Presider and stands to Presiders right at thechair, holding the Gospel book.

    Deacon A takes BANNER from Stand in Entryway, and carries itto extra cross stand behind main cantors chair

    Please come to all the services! Parking is easy every night.

    On Maundy Tuesday, come dressed appropriately to wash eachothers feet and to have your feet washed.

    come early Good Friday (time?) to hear the choir concert and get agood seat.

    The Saturday night vigil is our ONE EASTER SERVICE at EIGHTo'clock. Come early at 7:30 to hear the choir sing. Thereare NO services next Sunday; come join our picnic insteadat Big Leaf Picnic Area in Tilden Park, Berkeley.

    Easter cleanup on Monday evening

    if you have a birthday or anniversary during Holy Week save it up well sing to you after Easter. (i.e. no polychronia)

    Deacon A Jesus welcomes everyone to his Table, and so we offer

    everyone the bread and wine which are His body and

    blood.

    After we receive communion, we take up an offering for

    the churchs work. Todays service is the first service of

    Holy Week and represents gifts of time and money

    from the whole community. Please give generously in

    thanksgiving to support the feast of Easter, and the

    ongoing work of the church.

    of you seated in the rotunda (big gesture) please stand andhand your chairs off to the ushers on the sides to get them

    out of the way.

    As we prepare for the procession well all sing number

    Procession from inside the church to the sidewalk:

    Deacon A We're going to go out the street doors to the sidewalk,

    singing a psalm. Bring your music books with you. Pleaseexit using all four doors.

    If someone hands you a palm or censer, take it on outside.

    Well gather together out on the sidewalk, and bless the

    Palms there.

    Fill up the sidewalk right out to the street, and wait until

    we're all gathered there for the blessing.

    As we go, we'll sing a psalm refrain Sanford will teach

    it to us and tell us when to start walking.

    Cantor teaches music, instructs when to start walking, while:

    Procession Around Church

    Deacon A Please make way for the banner to lead as we go around

    the church. If you are carrying a cross, umbrella, or large

    palm, watch out for trees and signs overhead!

    Cantors immediately begin chanting psalm verses

    Gifts Party (Deacon B [Banner] leading) stays together, and leads theprocession

    Deacon A and Presider join the Gifts Partyby moving to the street andaround the crowd to the head of the procession

    Deacon C moves to the corner and directs the crowd,

    Stealth Deacon: reloads thuribles as needed (or recruits someone to doit).

    As soon as procession begins to move:

    Indoor Ushers:

    1. take thurible stand through the church to theColumbarium to await returning thuribles.

    2. prop open ALL FOUR font doors to 90 ONLY! Then

    proceed to the parking lot court to await returning palms

    Outdoor Ushers:

    1. herd crowd from behind, to keep it from getting toothinned out
