Super Select 4WD

Super Select 4WD allows drivers to move from 2H to 4H ‘on

the fly’. Drive to the front wheels occurs through a viscous

coupling unit (VCU) in the centre differential. 4HLc by-passes

the VCU, locking the front and rear wheels into 4WD. 4LLc is a

low ratio option that gives the driver the ability to produce

higher revs at lower speeds, this mode can only be selected

when the vehicle is completely stationary.

5-speed automatic with INVECS II ‘Smart Logic’

The INVECS II ‘Smart Logic’ transmission system works through

the on-board computer that learns and adapts to each driver’s

preferences by monitoring engine and foot-braking data. The

computer logic then adapts the gearshift timing to suit the

driver’s style, providing smooth, effortless acceleration and a

more predictable ride.

Engine delivers all the power you need.

From 3.2 litres, it yields quietness, smoothness and fuel

efficiency while still effortlessly delivering 150kW of power

and a meaty 448Nm of torque, and a braked towing

capacity of 3,000kg. All the power and torque you need for

both on and off the track and all while only consuming 9.0

ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD)

EBD detects when you are carrying passengers or heavier loads and automatically increases rear-braking force on demand, safely reducing your stopping distance.

ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL (ASC)

Active Stability Control provides the driver with greater control in tough cornering situations, reducing the

chance of under-steer or over-steer by adjusting engine power and applying

the brakes independently on each wheel. The result - a tighter,

MULTI-MODE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)

Pajero’s intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system monitors different wheel speed and

activates brakes to individual wheels when required. It allows you to keep manoeuvrability under heavy

braking and slippery road conditions.

ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL (ATC)

WITH ENGINE BRAKE ASSIST CONTROL (EBAC)

ATC is an intelligent system that automatically controls engine output

so that driving wheels are prevented from spinning. When it senses loss

of traction in an independent wheel it automatically applies braking

force to that wheel while sending extra power to other wheels with

traction to keep you moving. ATC enables you to keep traction on the

most slippery or rugged of surfaces.

Particularly invaluable when stepping down steep descents, EBAC provides

you with engine braking without the loss of traction due to slipping

wheels. The system works automatically in 4WD Low Range mode.

SUSPENSION

The Pajero’s inherently strong monocoque body lowers the

centre of gravity while at the same time increasing ground

clearance. This allows both confident high-speed cornering

and off-road stability. The adoption of the monocoque

body also enabled the use of coil springs in the independent

multi-link suspension, increasing the front and rear wheel

travel and enhancing off-road ability and on-road comfort.

4HLC (4WD HIGH RANGE WITH LOCKED

CENTRE DIFFERENTIAL)

4HLC distributes power equally to the front and rear axles

helping keep you on-track in rugged or slippery

off-road conditions.

Hill Hold is a feature of all Pajero models.

Operating in second gear, it enables you to stop

on a steep slope without the risk of your Pajero

quiet, fuel-efficient performance on the highway

or around town.

4H (FULL-TIME 4WD)

4H gives you added traction when the weather

front/rear torque split adjusts between 33:67 and

50:50 for greater control in high-speed driving.

Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology

All Pajero models are equipped with Mitsubishi’s rally-

developed MATT (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology).

MATT is an integrated package of systems centred on

the on-board computer with sensors that monitor the

constant changes in your vehicle’s wheel speeds, lateral

and longitudinal G forces and yaw rates. Processing this

data it then matches it to the driver’s intention via the

steering wheel and throttle sensors to provide optimum

driving performance and driver confidence.

The Pajero’s superior visibility concept is a combination of

Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) monocoque body system with integrated chassis is a highly rigid one-

piece shell. The super-strength cabin acts as a safety cage. In the event of an accident, impact-absorbing crushable zones,

a lower centre of gravity and reinforced critical points combine to deliver superior safety performance. The RISE body also
