Mother Teresa House

Volunteers are needed for the summer months!

Vacation time is here and some of our regular volunteers will not be available this summer. In Matthew 25 Jesus was asked, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed

you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?" At MTH, if you can greet a guest at the door, offer them a bottle of water, fix them a cup of coffee or offer them a cup of soup or pasta, then you have all the qualifications needed to be a MTH volunteer. If you can sit and listen to their story while they have a snack or help them look at our clothing closet or choose some toiletries, then you are answering HIS call, "Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for Me." If you are available for 2 or 3 hours, ONE day a month to help us through the summer months, please call Mother Teresa House at (864) 412-7101 and leave a message. Don't worry - someone will call you back! MTH hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10am-2pm.

Parish Operating Financials

Needed each week $ 14,000. Received for week ending 5/20 $ 16,656.

Spiritual Adoption

Spiritual Adoption – Our Lady of the Rosary families still have the opportunity to "spiritually" adopt a baby who is newly conceived. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. More than 3,000 babies lose their lives to abortion each day. It is these babies you are asked to "adopt." You may "adopt" a baby individually or as a family. You are asked to name the baby for whom you will be praying, thereby giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves. You are then asked to pray for your "spiritually adopted" unborn baby and for all unborn babies, for the power of prayer is great! You will receive weekly reports through the parish bulletin describing your baby's development; and your baby will be born around February 2nd, the feast of the Presentation of Our Lord. A Certificate of Adoption will be placed in The Book of Life at the Infant of Prague Shrine along with a beautiful illustration of the developing baby each month. There are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of your prayers. Won't you, please, "spiritually adopt" one of these unborn babies and share the love for life that God has given you? The Certificates of Adoption are available in the Infant of Prague Shrine. Fill out both sides of the certificate. Take home the side with the prayer and leave the other side in the bag. The certificate will be placed in the Book of Life. Call Victoria Norris at 967-2713 or

One of the biggest roadblocks to cancer treatment is transportation. That’s why the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program provides patients in need with free rides to treatment. And we need your help.

Our volunteers have provided hundreds of thousands of rides for patients, but the need for drivers continues to accelerate.

Please help us spread the word about the importance of giving patients a much-needed ride to their cancer related medical appointments.

To volunteer, or learn more about this program, visit cancer.org/drive

or call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.

Summer Camps - St. Joseph's Catholic School

Registration is still open for Academic, Athletic, and Theatre Camps at St. Joseph's Catholic School. Camps run June through August, with short sessions to fit any schedule and options from 1st - 12th grade. Please visit sjcatholicschool.org for a full list and to register.

Studies have shown that young adults respond to personal invitations from college campus ministry. The Diocese of Charleston has partnered with The Newman Connection in an effort to connect graduating seniors with the campus ministry programs at colleges and universities throughout South Carolina. Watch for more information coming soon.
