ABBEY FEST-2015
Attention young people and young at heart!
Are you ready to join us for a fun filled day?
We are going to Abbey Fest this year!
The Abbey Faith Fest, on Sept. 19, is an apostolic
service of the Norbertine Community of Daylesford
Abbey, St. Norbert Catholic Church in Paoli, Pa. and
others in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
It is designed to provide people of all ages, but partic-
ularly young people, with an opportunity to
experience a day of faith-filled music and inspiring
prayer with an exposure to the Norbertine tradition.
Its focus is to celebrate the beauty of faith in support
of the New Evangelization by means of Liturgy,
prayer, communion and music.
For more detailed information (time, tickets, etc…)
and to sign up, go to http://www.theabbeyfest.com or
contact Janice Dagney, DRE, at
It’s going to be a great event!!

The Death Of Bingo
After many long years and hard work by so many
volunteers, bingo at Our Lady of Consolation has
come to an end.
We have not been drawing the crowds that we use to
have and therefore, bingo has not been the income
source that we need.
We are grateful for all of the volunteers who have
sacrificed their Friday nights to help with bingo,
especially Gerry Roper and Nancy Fischer.
And thank you to all the parishioners who supported
us by trying to get lucky on Friday nights!!
We are open for fundraising ideas to replace bingo
revenue. Please call the rectory at 610-857-3510
to share your suggestions.

R.C.I.A-Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Are you someone who was baptized a Catholic but
never received the Sacrament of First Communion
and/or Confirmation?
Are you someone who has a family member or
friend who is a Catholic and is interested in finding
out more about the Catholic faith?
Are you someone who was baptized in a non-
Catholic Christian faith and are now interested in
converting to Catholicism?
Are you someone who was never baptized and
would like to be a member of our Catholic Church?
If you are an adult (18 years or older) and you
answered “Yes” to any one of these questions, then
the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is for you.
The RCIA is a faith journey in which you deepen
your relationship with God and make friendships
with other candidates and team members through
bible study, faith sharing, and learning about the
teachings of the Catholic Church.
Adults are then fully initiated into the Catholic
Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, First
Communion, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
If you area interested in participating in RCIA for
this coming year, classes will begin on Sunday,
October 4.
For more information, please contact the rectory at
610-857-3510 or Janice Dagney at 610-857-0511

Financial Peace
The next semester will begin this Wednesday, September 9, 2015 and will meet each Wednesday evening
for 9 weeks, from 6:00- 8:00pm
According to Dave Ramsey, we all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan!
It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small
group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get you from where you are to where you've dreamed
you could be.
This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!
Our first offering of FPU saw 30 people learn about God’s principles for money, develop a game plan to win
with money and encourage other members of the class in their journey as well. We still have room in this next
class for you.
Please, take this step for you and your family and become a member of this FPU class. You will be BETTER
prepared for your Christmas shopping and have the tools to have a peaceful Christmas Season!
One way to find out more information, or to register for the class, is to visit the website,
www.daveramsey.com or email your Stewardship Committee Chairperson at [email protected]
Catholic Adult Faith Enrichment (CAFÉ”)
Two Faith Enrichment Classes This Fall
The Prophets: Messengers of God's Mercy
This is a brand new DVD series taught by Thomas Smith, an interesting and dynamic speaker. In this class
we will learn why the messages of the prophets are important to us today and find out how we are called to
be God's voice to others. The 10-week class will meet Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 pm at the SPC, start-
ing September 17. The study guide is recommended, but not required, and costs approximately $25.
To register please email [email protected] or call Paul Harkins at 610-466-7494 or Sue Brown at
610-857-2026.
The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation
This very popular DVD series is presented by Jeff Cavins, and it will deepen your understanding of how God
reveals his Divine plan through Sacred Scripture. Many who took this 23-week class at our parish in 2013
have requested that we offer it again. We will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm in Classroom 1 of
the SPC, beginning September 15.
Space is limited, so please register promptly to reserve a seat. You can email [email protected] or call
Phyllis Reis at 610-857-1079 to register. The study guide costs approximately $35, and you do not need to
purchase a new book if you still have your copy from 2013.
Both of these classes are offered by our Catholic Adult Faith Enrichment (CAFÉ) team. Each evening be-
gins with a video presentation and is followed by a small-group discussion. We have a trial subscription to a
digital streaming program that allows students to watch the videos at their convenience during the months
when the course is taught at the parish. For more information, please email us at [email protected] or
call a team member using the phone numbers listed above.
Pianist Needed - Tuesday evenings
LTJV (our Youth Group) is looking for someone to give 45 minutes every Tuesday night to play with our
LTJV band. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please contact Janice Dagney at
