World Meeting of families Prayer
God and Father of us all,
In Jesus, your Son and our Savior,
You have made us
Your sons and daughters
In the family of the Church.
May your grace and love
Help our families
In every part of the world
Be united to one another
In fidelity to the Gospel.
May the example of the Holy Family,
With the aid of your Holy Spirit,
Guide all families, especially those must troubled,
To be homes of communion and prayer
And to always seek your truth and live in your
love.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Pray for us!

R.C.I.A-Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Are you someone who was baptized a Catholic but
never received the Sacrament of First Communion
and/or Confirmation?
Are you someone who has a family member or
friend who is a Catholic and is interested in finding
out more about the Catholic faith?
Are you someone who was baptized in a non-
Catholic Christian faith and are now interested in
converting to Catholicism?
Are you someone who was never baptized and
would like to be a member of our Catholic Church?
If you are an adult (18 years or older) and you
answered “Yes” to any one of these questions, then
the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is for you.
The RCIA is a faith journey in which you deepen
your relationship with God and make friendships
with other candidates and team members through
bible study, faith sharing, and learning about the
teachings of the Catholic Church.
Adults are then fully initiated into the Catholic
Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, First
Communion, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
If you area interested in participating in RCIA for
this coming year, classes will begin on Sunday,
October 4.

BINGO
As you may have heard, we have decided to discon-
tinue bingo on Friday nights due to the dwindling
participation and income.
It was brought to our attention that there was money
still "remaining" in the Lucky Ball bingo jackpot.
After discussions with the Pastoral Council, we
decided to donate the $768 in the jackpot to the
Parkesburg Community Church Outreach program
and the Octorara Food Cupboard in the name of the
Bingo players.
In addition to the Lucky Ball jackpot money, Our
Lady of Consolation will donate matching funds to
both of these very worthy local organizations.
Many thanks to all who supported bingo!

Financial Peace
Beginning Wednesday, September 9, and continuing for 9 weeks, from 6:00- 8:00pm at the SPC,
According to Dave Ramsey, we all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan!
It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small
group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get you from where you are to where you've dreamed
you could be.
This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!
Our first offering of FPU saw 30 people learn about God’s principles for money, develop a game plan to win
with money and encourage other members of the class in their journey as well. We still have room in this next
class for you.
Please, take this step for you and your family and become a member of this FPU class. You will be BETTER
prepared for your Christmas shopping and have the tools to have a peaceful Christmas Season!
One way to find out more information, or to register for the class, is to visit the website,
www.daveramsey.com or email your Stewardship Committee Chairperson at [email protected]
PCCO Winter Coat Drive 2015

September.
Catholic Adult Faith Enrichment (CAFÉ”)
Two Faith Enrichment Classes This Fall
The Prophets: Messengers of God's Mercy
This is a brand new DVD series taught by Thomas Smith, an interesting and dynamic speaker. In this class
we will learn why the messages of the prophets are important to us today and find out how we are called to
be God's voice to others. The 10-week class will meet Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 pm at the SPC.
The first class started on September 17. The study guide is recommended, but not required, and costs ap-
proximately $25.
To register please email [email protected] or call Paul Harkins at 610-466-7494 or Sue Brown at
610-857-2026.
The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation
This very popular DVD series is presented by Jeff Cavins, and it will deepen your understanding of how God
reveals his Divine plan through Sacred Scripture. Many who took this 23-week class at our parish in 2013
have requested that we offer it again. We will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm in Classroom 1 of
the SPC, beginning September 15.
Space is limited, so please register promptly to reserve a seat. You can email [email protected] or call
Phyllis Reis at 610-857-1079 to register. The study guide costs approximately $35, and you do not need to
purchase a new book if you still have your copy from 2013.
Both of these classes are offered by our Catholic Adult Faith Enrichment (CAFÉ) team. Each evening be-
gins with a video presentation and is followed by a small-group discussion. We have a trial subscription to a
digital streaming program that allows students to watch the videos at their convenience during the months
when the course is taught at the parish. For more information, please email us at [email protected] or
call a team member using the phone numbers listed above.
