On the fourth week of Advent, we light the final
purple candle to mark the final week of prayer and
penance as we wait for the birth of our Savior.
This candle is called the “Christ Candle” and
represents the life of Christ. The color white is for
purity because Christ is our sinless, pure Savior.

What a week! The ELC students performed their
Christmas pageant on Thursday to a full house. It
was, of course, adorable. We even had a visit from
the Jolly Old Elf himself. Christmas break begins on
Friday and will continue into the new year when
classes will resume on Monday, January 3.
We pray you and your families have a very Merry

Pastor’s Corner
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
"For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”Luke 2:11-14 Merry Christmas! On behalf of our Parish Staff, I extend to you and your family my heartfelt desire that you may truly have a joyful and blessed Christmas.
This year, as on every Christmas, happens every few years, we are reminded by this simple reality of December 25th falling on a Sunday of the great Mysteries of our Faith: the Incarnation of Christ, the God-Man and His whole purpose for coming to us: to redeem us by His passion, death and resurrection from the dead. On this "Christmas Sunday", we quietly reflect on these Mysteries and are filled with gratitude for God's infinite love for us. We rest in awe, in wonder, at how our God entered our world and came to be with us. We pause to receive the gift offered us: that the Spirit of God will open up our lives and that Jesus will really come into our hearts.
May we have watchful hope today, believing what the Lord promises us. Let us pray today, that we might be instruments of God's love and carry the Light of Christ dwelling in our hearts to all: "Glory to God in the highest!"
In Christ's Peace,Fr. O'Neill
