CommunityOMC to Break Ground on new Expansion Project June 25Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new home of Medical Office Build-ing and Women’s Health Center at 5:30 pm June 25 in front of the hospital on Kentucky Avenue. The community is invited to attend.

Construction of the Expansion is expected to be complete in 2021. Kentucky Avenue in front of the Hospital will be closed as of June 8 to prepare the site for new construction. Parking and shuttle accommodations will be announced in detail in the coming weeks. The expansion is being designed by Cromwell Architects Engineers, Inc., Little Rock, AR. Killian Construction Company in Springfield will serve as the construction manag-er for the building project.

“We are excited to bring a new era of healthcare to the communities we serve and wel-come everyone to the groundbreaking,” said Tom Keller, President, and CEO. “Such a significant expansion will help redefine what patients can expect from their regional healthcare system.”

About the Ozarks Medical Center ExpansionThe expansion is based on providing convenience for patients by placing more services under one roof. The location of the expansion will connect the existing Shaw Medical Building and the current main hospital building housing almost all of OMC’s specialty clinics and ancillary services to one location, creating a centralized space for patients.

Specifically, the new construction of more than 97,000 square feet will include the con-struction of a new medical office building, flexible clinics, procedure suite, centralized imaging facilities, an updated pharmacy, and a new food service area. Also, a new 20,000 square foot Women’s Center will house modern labor and delivery rooms, gynecological surgery facilities, and educational spaces.

OMC is not only expanding the footprint but also expanding its coordination of care by upgrading the information technology system to replace multiple electronic health record systems currently used. This upgrade, known as Project 20/20, will provide the platform for all OMC departments, primary care, and specialty clinics to see and update a patient’s record across care areas.

Dr. Harry Kelly Retirement Celebration After 40 years spent as a family practice physician, Dr. Kelly is retiring on May 31.

Dr. Kelly has spent the majority of his career with Ozarks Medical Center (OMC). During that time, he has had over 300,000 patient visits. He has seen pa-tients in the emergency department, the rural clinic, as well as in four different nursing homes. Dr. Kelly has saved many lives, healed many wounds, both physical and mental, and cultivated many friendships.

Upon retiring, Dr. Kelly plans to spend some time traveling with his wife, Patti, pictured to the left, and continuing his photography hobby.

OMC Mountain Grove Spotlight: Walk-In ClinicThe final service spotlight for OMC’s Mountain Grove Medical Com-plex is the walk-in clinic. OMC Mountain Grove Walk-In Clinic pro-vides treatment for minor trauma and illnesses that require same day attention, but are not severe enough for a trip to the emergency room. This is helpful for times when a patient’s primary care office is closed or unavailable. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis with no appointment necessary, seven days a week.

The providers for walk-in services are Adam Mattison, APN, and Stephan Yost, PA. Mattison has been with the OMC Mountain Grove Medical Complex since 2017, while Yost joined earlier this year.

Yost believes that walk-in care is critical to a community the size of Mountain Grove. Walk-in services can be a resource to everyone. It takes a well-rounded scope of practice to provide walk-in care so the array of skills provided by Mattison and Yost is vital to the clinic services.

OMC Mountain Grove Medical Complex is located at 500 E. 19th Street, Mountain Grove. The walk-in clinic is open everyday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 417-926-6563. OMC Mountain Grove offers same day appointments. Each provider is accepting new patients.
