Community Missouri Division of Energy awards low-interest loan to OMC for an energy efficiency and renewable energy project e Missouri Division of Energy has awarded a low-interest loan totaling $681,899 to assist Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) with an energy-efficiency and renewable energy project. e funded project, which is expected to support 9 jobs and benefit more than 40,000 Missouri- ans, is projected to save the hospital approximately $87,279 in energy costs annually. OMC will use this savings to repay the loan. In addition, the project will reduce electricity use by more than 1,134,974 kilowatt hours (kWh) and natural gas use by 987 Million Btu (MMBtu) avoiding 850 metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution, which equates to removing 180 passenger cars from the road for a year. “e Energy Loan Program provides the opportunity for Missouri schools, hospitals, and gov- ernments to make improvements by installing clean energy innovations in their buildings,” said Director of Division of Energy, Kristy Manning. “e loan project stimulates Missouri’s economy by saving tax payer money, allowing the applicants to redirect savings toward other priorities, and helps create jobs for the state of Missouri.” To read more about the loan, click here. Missouri Division of Energy awards low-interest loan to OMC for an energy efficiency and renewable energy projectThe Missouri Division of Energy has awarded a low-interest loan totaling $681,899 to assist Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) with an energy-efficiency and renewable energy project.

The funded project, which is expected to support 9 jobs and benefit more than 40,000 Missouri-ans, is projected to save the hospital approximately $87,279 in energy costs annually. Ozarks Medical Center to honor Diana Koenig, DO with a retirement celebration on December 18After 20 years as a Family Practice Physician, Dr. Diana Koenig is set to retire Dec. 18. During her time with Ozarks Medical Center (OMC), she worked at OMC Alton and OMC Winona clinics.

A farewell reception will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tues-day, Dec. 18 at OMC Winona, 9104 State Highway 19. Refreshments will be courtesy of OMC. All friends, coworkers and well-wishers are welcome to attend.

In retirement, Dr. Koenig is looking forward to working in her garden, catching up on some reading, and spending more time with her husband.

Board certified family practice nurse practitioner, DJ Gross, will continue to be a full-time provider at OMC Winona. Board certified family practice nurse practitioners Glennette Haney and Kayly King will continue to be full time providers at OMC Alton.

Feb. 1: Wear Red Day-Free AppleWest Plains Mayor Jack Pahlmann has joined with Ozarks Medical Center Heart Care Services to promote awareness of heart health by declaring Friday, Feb. 1 Wear Red Day. This is a national event that encourages people to wear red to rec-ognize the beginning of American Heart Month, celebrated each February. On this day, individu-als wearing red may visit the OMC Cafeteria and receive a free apple.

OMC collects donations for Toys for Tots

Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) recently presented several boxes of toys to the local Marine Corps League as part of its annual Toys for Tots drive. Donation boxes were placed at locations throughout the hospital and clinics for staff and visitors who wished to give donations. The toys will be distributed to children in need in West Plains, Gainesville, Willow Springs, Cabool, Mountain View, Mountain Grove and Alton. Collection boxes were placed in the main hos-pital lobby, OMC Rehabilitation Services, Public Relations, and Outpatient Surgery.
