The City’s commitment to our ageing residents

The City of Armadale has adopted an Age Friendly Communities approach to ensure the services, amenities and facilities available in our community meet the needs of our ageing residents to provide a good quality of life as they age. The City aims to continually work on building on existing services to promote Armadale as an age-friendly community, where the wellbeing and safety of the residents are a priority.

The City has a significant proportion of older people. Between 2011 and 2016, the proportion of people aged over 50 years increased by 22% and by 2026 people aged over 50 years will make up 26% of the City’s population. As with the wider population, those aged over 50 years have diverse aspirations, needs and interests. In order for our community members to age comfortably, the City is committed to understanding and addressing the current and future community through an Age Friendly Strategy.

This resource is regularly updated to ensure the latest information about services and activities in and around Armadale is available to support participation and inclusion in the local community. Every effort has been made to include accurate and relevant information within this booklet.

If you would like your group or organisation to be included, please contact the City on 9394 5000 or [email protected].

Further copies of this directory are available for collection from the City’s libraries, Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre or from our Main Administration building.
