The annual book fair includes 100‘s of books, magazines, CD’s, DVD’s puzzles and vinyl! 6th Woodend Spring Flower Show 1pm - 4pm, Woodend Community Centre. Enjoy a Devonshire Tea, browse the plant/ craft market, order your daffodil bulbs for autumn and view the talented display by the Nth Canty Floral Art Society. 7th Walk for Awareness 10.30am, Snap Fitness, 8 High St, Rangiora. 8km walk to bring people together in the name of Mental Health Awareness. Raise money for the Mental Health Foundation. Tickets $5 at Snap Fitness 03 313 0909. 7th Spring into Oxford 10am - 2pm, Pearson Park, Oxford. Classic and vintage vehicles - all makes and models, stalls, music, entertainment and much more. Entry by gold coin donation, school children free. 14th Dr Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat 10.30am & 1pm, Rangiora Town Hall. Two bored kids. One rainy day. And one crazy cat wearing a striped hat. 16th Soroptimist Fair 10am - 4pm, A&P Showgrounds, Ashley St, Rangiora. Celebrate 25 years with over 80 stalls, crafts, raffles, food and drinks and see the Mayor cut the cake at 1pm. $5 per adult, kids free. 18th Clarkville Playcentre Botanical & Boutique Gift Extravaganza 2pm - 6pm, 9 Heywards Road, Clarkville. Over 2,000 plants, boutique gift stalls, petting zoo, coffee cart, face painting and food stalls. 19th - 21st Cure Boating Club 150th Anniversary Celebration Weekend Various venues around Kaiapoi. Fri Night: Meet and greet at the Mandeville Tavern, Sat: Main Festival Rowing Event with food and markets and Dine & Dance at Kaiapoi Club. See all details on Cure Rowing website. 19th - 20th Rangiora (Northern) A&P Show 8am - 4pm, Rangiora Showgrounds, 156 Ashley St, Rangiora. 19th: Equestrian events only. 20th: Main show day for the whole family including live entertainment, stalls, food, crafts and trade plus a variety of livestock sections on show. $15 adult, $5 child, $35 family pass. 20th North Canterbury Guinea Pig Show 10am – 3pm, Woodend Scout Den, Rangiora Woodend Road. Pedigree and Pet Guinea Pigs, Grooming displays, Raffles, Animal Sales, White Elephant Stall. Come join the fun, gold coin entry. 20th Woodford Glen Opening Night 6pm, Doubledays Road, Kaiapoi. Local home cheese makers are invited to bring their cheeses to a tasting and informal judging by all the tasters. 27th Ohokafest – Craft Beer Festival 12.30pm – 7pm, Mandeville Sports Centre, Mandeville. Enjoy a day out in the country with breweries showcasing their craft beer, food, music and entertainment for all (over 18’s only). 27th Woodford Glen Fireworks Extravaganza 6pm, Doubledays Road, Kaiapoi. A family favourite, racing entertainment with an impressive display of fireworks. 28th Hellers Pegasus Fun Run 8.30am, Pegasus Lake. 11km and 6km courses, plus a 2.5km lakeside loop, which many families choose to run and walk together. Bring the entire workplace, school group or whanau. 28th Oxford Garden Fete 10am, Ribblesdale Gardens. A relaxing day out in Oxford featuring music, food, children’s entertainment and over 80 stalls in a beautiful garden setting. 31st Waimakariri Light Party 4.30 - 7.30pm, Wylie Park, Kaiapoi. A fun-filled alternative to traditional Halloween activities that provides family-fun in a safe environment for children up to 14 years.
