    Depuis le lancement de la Coupe R8 Gordinien 1966, Renault Sport a assur une prsencecontinue sur les circuits dEurope et du Mondeentier. Commercialises plusieurs centainesdexemplaires depuis 1991, les quatre gnrationsde Clio Cup ont t reconnues pour leursperformances, leur fiabilit et leur accessibilit.

    Remplaant le modle utilis depuis 2006, NouvelleClio Cup hrite des atouts de Clio R.S. 200 EDC, commencer par son chssis. Renforce par unarceau-cage soud, la caisse offre une meilleure

    scurit ainsi quune rigidit augmente. Sublimpar les jantes de 17, le design coup de curde Nouvelle Clio est complt par un ensemblearodynamique contribuant lefficacit ducomportement en piste.

    Optimis par les ingnieurs de Renault SportTechnologies, le tout nouveau moteur 1.6 turbo

    injection directe dveloppe 220 chevaux etsurtout un couple constant de 270 Nm. Il estassoci une bote de vitesses squentielle six rapports, offrant un temps de passage deseulement 100 millisecondes. Selon les versions,la commande seffectue grce des palettes auvolant ou avec un levier classique.

    POSSESSING ALL THE QUALITIES OF ITS PREDECESSOR, THE RENAULT CLIO RENAULTSPORT 200 EDC, THE NEW CLIO CUP REWRITES THE RULES WHEN IT COMES TO A HOT-HATCH DEVELOPMENT SERIES. HAVING BROUGHT THIS COMPETITION CLASS INTO THEWORLD NEARLY 50 YEARS AGO, RENAULT SPORT TECHNOLOGIES HAS DRAWN ON ITSKNOW-HOW AND EXPERTISE IN CREATING A MODERN, HIGH-PERFORMANCE ANDECONOMICAL CAR THAT IS ACCESSIBLE FOR TRACK-DAY ENTHUSIASTS.

    Since the launch of the R8 Gordini Cup in 1966,Renault Sport has been an ever-present on theracetracks of Europe and the rest of the world.Sold in the high hundreds since 1991, thefour generations of the Clio Cup have earnedrecognition for their performance, reliability andaccessibility.

    Replacing the model in use since 2006, thenew Clio Cup has inherited all the assets of theClio Renault Sport 200 EDC, starting with itschassis. Reinforced by a welded roll cage, the

    monocoque chassis delivers increased safetyand is stronger too. Enhanced by 17-inch rims,the design of the new Clio Cup takes the breathaway and is complemented by aerodynamicsthat make it handle even better on the track.

    Renault Sport Technologies engineers have putall their brain power into the new 1.6L direct-

    injected turbo engine, which produces 220bhpand a constant torque of 270Nm, and is hookedup to a six-speed sequential gearbox enablinggear shifts to be made in just 100 milliseconds.Steering-wheel paddle shifts are available as anoption, along with the classic gearstick.

    The track-hugging new Clio Cup also comeswith adjustable shock absorbers. Combined withadjustable axles, this innovative feature allowsteams to set the new Clio Cup up to suit differenttrack conditions and driving styles. Two tyre

    types have also been developed in collaborationwith Michelin and Dunlop.

    The braking is, as with all Renault SportTechnologies cars, a particular strong point.The new Clio Cup has many strengths , including320mm ventilated discs, gripped by powerful4-piston calipers.

    And as is the case with the superlative finishing,every attention has been lavished on theonboard electronics. The engine and gearbox aremonitored by a unique ECU that can be accessedonly by Renault Sport Technologies engineers.Incorporated into an ergonomic and highlyfunctional dashboard, all the driver controls anddisplays are within fingertip reach. Meanwhile,performance is analysed and driver efficiencyenhanced by a data acquisition system that usesthe same software as the Formula Renault 2.0and Formula Renault 3.5.

    The new Clio Cup is manufactured and assembledat the Alpine factory in Dieppe. With its bench-tested and race-sealed engine, the car is deliveredready-to-race.

    Le 19 juillet 1970, la R8 passait le tmoin la R12

    loccasion du Jour G, gigantesque rassemblementde 15 000 Gordinistes organis sur le circuitPaul Ricard. Une manifestation en quelque sorteanctre des World Series by Renault ! Au fil delapparition des nouveaux modles, les formulesde promotion frappes du Losange ont voluen conservant deux fondamentaux : le respectde lquit sportive et la volont de proposer dessaisons aux cots matriss.

    Lance en 2001, la premire dclinaison de ClioCup base sur la fameuse 16S sest inscrite

    dans cette ligne. Aprs un intermde avecMgane 16v entre 1997 et 2000, Clio a pris lerelais sur deux gnrations. Exploite depuis2007, la version qui tire aujourdhui sa rvrencese caractrisait par son arodynamique volueet son lectronique embarque moderne.

    HISTORY

    THE LATEST SUCCESSOR TO

    THE COUPE GORDINIRENAULT REVOLUTIONISED TRACK RACING WHEN IT CREATED THE HOT-HATCHDEVELOPMENT SERIES NEARLY HALF A CENTURY AGO. SINCE THE BIRTH OF THECOUPE R8 GORDINI, RENAULT HAS DEVELOPED EXPERTISE THAT HAS BROUGHT ITUNPARALLELED INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS.

    The R8 Gordini first made its mark in rally,chalking up three wins in the Tour de Corsebefore moving on to acquire legendary statuson the track. Launched in 1966 thanks to

    a partnership between Renault and themagazine Moteurs, the first Coupe R8 Gordinimade motorsport more accessible, opening itright up to a new generation of drivers, someof whom won plaudits if not fame while otherswent on to become great champions of thesport.

    The R8 handed the baton on to the R12 on 19

    July 1970, a day that has gone down in historyas Jour G (G Day), a mass gathering of 15,000Gordini disciples held at the Paul Ricard track,now considered a precursor to the WorldSeries by Renault. As new models appeared,so Renaults development series evolved, whilestaying faithful to two key principles: respect fora level playing field and a desire to keep racingcosts down.

    Launched in 2001, the first version of the Clio Cup based on the famous 16S took its place in this

    noble lineage. Following a brief interlude between1997 and 2000, when the Megane 16v put in anappearance, the Clio took over for the next twogenerations. Having made its entrance in 2007,the version that continues to pay its respects to itsancestors today stands out for its carefully designedaerodynamics and modern onboard electronics.

    With the arrival of the new Clio Cup in 2013,

    Renault Sport Technologies has revamped theclass with a brand new product that marks areturn to the turbo engine, which was sidelined

    in the late 1980s. Offering an even better

    Specially created to make an impact, the designof the new Clio breaks fresh ground. The firstcar to fully express the rebirth of the Renaultstyle under Laurens van den Acker, the new Clioboasts naturally powerful streamlining, a lowerride height than its precursor and longer tracks,features that all combine to make the sportversions even more combative.

    The new Clio Cup also takes on some of thefeatures specific to the Renault Sport 200 EDC:

    INCREASED AERODYNAMICEFFICIENCY

    Thanks to computational fluid dynamics andsome cutting-edge work in the wind tunnel,Renault Sport Technologies engineers havesignificantly increased downforce. In conjunctionwith the front air extractors, the rear diffuser,which incorporates the twin-exhaust tailpipes,gives the car even more stability when corneringand braking.

    The result of careful analysis, the rear spoilerkeeps the new Clio Cup firmly on the ground,

    generating nearly 40kg of additional downforceat 200kph, while the roof scoop improvesventilation in the driver compartment. All inall, its a design offering the smoothest ofaerodynamic flows.

    CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION

    EVEN MORE OPTIONSSUCH IS THE QUALITY OF THE CHASSIS ON THE NEW CLIO RENAULT SPORT 200 EDCTHAT ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF MODIFICATIONS WERE MADE IN DEVELOPING A RACEVERSION, WHILE THE NEW ADJUSTABLE SHOCK ABSORBERS GIVE BOTH DRIVERS ANDTEAMS EXTRA ROOM FOR MANOEUVRE.

    A WELDED ROLL CAGE FOR ADDEDSAFETY AND STRENGTH

    Unlike its predecessors, the new Clio Cup comescomplete with a welded roll cage, a first for aRenault Sport Technologies-designed car in thiscategory and an innovation that obviously offersmore in the way of safety than a bolted roll cage.

    The additional strength it provides also meansbetter handling on corners. The new Clio Cupretains all the incisiveness and balance of theCup chassis available as an option on the ClioRenault Sport 200 EDC.

    POWERFUL, STABLE BRAKING

    A lot of thought has gone into the new Clio Cupsbraking system, with the emphasis on bothsafety and performance.

    An entirely new feature at this price level, thecompetition crankset allows precision setting ofthe front and rear master cylinders. Front-fittedAP Racing 320mm vented discs (8mm largerthan on the previous Clio Cup) are gripped byfour-piston Brembo callipers, while the rear-fitted solid discs are 260mm in diameter. Brakeforce distribution is achieved by a limiter acting

    on the rear circuit. A partnership with CL Brakeshas also helped develop efficient endurancebrake pads.

    ADJUSTABLE SHOCK ABSORBERS

    Following the same principles as the productioncar, the suspension system is equipped with

    new adjustable ZF Race Engineering shockabsorbers. Along with adjustable geometrysettings, they allow the new Clio Cup to be tunedfor track days and specific driving styles witha minimum of fuss. The springs, comprising astiffness of 110Nm at the front and 80Nm atthe rear, guarantee a comfortable drive withoutundermining front-axle performance. The newClio Cup also oversteers progressively duringload transfers, enhancing driving pleasure.

    SPECIFIC TYRES

    The new Clio Cup can either be fitted withMichelin 20/61-17 or Dunlop 21/62-17 tyres,depending on the competition. Crafted byRenault Design, its 17-inch rims are supplied bySpeedline.

Optimis par les ingnieurs des Ulis, lenouveau 4 cylindres turbo injection directebnficie de technologies de pointe, limagedes poussoirs DLC (Diamond Like Carbon)drivs de la F1 et du double dcaleur darbre cames continu (VVT). Conu pour un usageen comptition, il dlivre 220 chevaux 6000tr/min et son couple slve 270 nm de 2500 5500 tr/min. La large plage dexploitationoffre donc un agrment de pilotagefondamentalement diffrent des moteurs

    atmosphriques prcdemment utiliss. Parrapport Clio R.S. 200 EDC, la prparationinclut notamment une nouvelle lignedchappement, avec un catalyseur intgr ausilencieux, et une boite air spcifique.

    Oreca Magny-Cours est le seul motoriste agrpar Renault Sport Technologies pour Nouvelle

    Clio Cup. Aprs un passage au banc dessais,les moteurs sont scells afin de garantir uneparfaite quit entre concurrents.

    Fournie par Sadev, la bote de vitessessquentielle six rapports est relie au moteurpar un embrayage comptition AP Racing avecbute intgre.

    return under the bonnet of a Renault Sporthot hatch. Optimised by the engineers at LesUlis, the new 4-cylinder direct-injected turboengine has been built using state-of-the-arttechnology such as diamond-like carbon (DLC)push rods as used in Formula One and adouble continuous variable camshaft timing(VVT) actuator.     A NEW ECU AND LATEST-GENERATIONSOFTWARE

    The nerve centre of the new Clio Cup, theCosworth SQ7DI ECU manages both engine

    mapping and transmission shifting patterns.This unique control unit manages direct fuelinjection and is sealed to prevent modificationsfrom being made to it. Only Renault SportTechnologies can examine its contents incarrying out technical checks.

    Hooked up to PI Toolbox software, which is alsoused in the Formula Renault 2.0 and FormulaRenault 3.5, it allows teams to get the most outof the data it generates.

    AN ERGONOMIC DRIVERS POSITIONSpecial care has been taken with the new ClioCups interiors. Designed exclusively for RenaultSport Technologies by the engineers at CosworthElectronics, the new dashboard reflects theirattention to detail. The colour display screenshows all the diagnostics in real time as well as

    essential data for the driver: fastest lap, gap on aselected driver, track layout, etc.

    The multi-functional steering wheel brings themost useful information within easy reach. Its

    seven buttons operate a wide variety of functions,each of which can come in handy during races,such as headlights, windscreen wipers and thedisplay screen scroll. One of the buttons can also

    be hooked up to a free connector on the wiringloom to hook up an extra function, such as aradio or drink dispenser.

    The secondary switches and controls can be
