    EXTRA CLOTHING

At this time of the year it is a good ideato put a few extra articles of clothing inyour childs school bag in case they getwet while playing outside.

SOUTHLAND CROSS-COUNTRYLast Friday a few of us were selected forSouthland Cross-Country. We got in the car to goto Otautau and couldnt stop thinking of hownervous we were. Once we got there, we went toput up our school flag so if we got lost you wouldalways know to look for the flag and go there. Wethen got a tutorial of the track and when we got

back, we waited for the Year 5s to go. Whenthey finished it was our turn to run the track. Weall had to line up in the same placing we had in theZones. The track was hard but we never gave upand we were determined to finish. We were luckyenough to finish 69th & 81st. That was a prettygreat day so we then went back to school happily.

    By Tamati & Ashton

RUGBYAshton, Tamati and I (Jesse) got nominated for the

Under 48kg North Town team. At 10.15am on Sundayat Sandy Point was where we got weighed before thetrial. It was different from the Under 11 Grade as itwas the rules from Under 12s. Before we had thetrial game we told Oz what position we play or wantedto play. Ashton went with flanker, Tamati went withCentre and I went with Lock. After we sorted thatthe Forwards went with Oz and the Backs with JayJay, they showed us what to do. We then trialledand split into two teams. Ashton and I were in theBlue team and Tamati was in the Yellow team. There

were tonnes of scrums and penalties and the gamewas in quarters. In the last quarter, I had to comeoff the field. It was hard but we still enjoyed it.

Tautuku CampI went on a fantastic Camp. Something I haventdone before but was so much fun was making

wearable outfits out of newspaper!!! It was reallycool having a talent show and roastingmarshmallows on the last night.

Thanks Miss Horrell and Miss Morrison. I wish Icould go again.

    By Katherine Cade

Tautuku CampMy favourite part of School Camp was when we wentto Nugget Point Lighthouse. We had to drive up a big

hill in the vans to get to the car park. We then had towalk up even higher so that everything looked tiny.Once we got to the top, we looked over the edge andsaw tiny seals. It was quite a nice view.

Camp was one of the best things Ive ever done.By Jack Smith
