Community Liaison News Thank you Roly! Bronte’s wonderful granddad has donated two absolutely beautiful silver-topped stringy bark poles which we’ll use to make an entryway to our Baby Birraban area. Thank you Roly – they’re stunning and going to make a wonderful entrance.
We are so lucky to live in such a supportive and generous community.
“Plant Stall” next Friday for our Sensory Garden The other exciting news is that we’re planting out our sensory garden around the tyre area next week. And the even more exciting news is that we’re all going to help with the planting! We’ll set up a “plant stall” of herbs and small flowering plants and the children will be able to bring a gold coin donation and “buy” a plant then plant it in the garden.
Remember your gold coin donation and your GREEN THUMBS next Friday 7 June!

1980’s Skipathon Tomorrow Don’t forget KPS is holding a Skipathon tomorrow on the school oval to raise money for our new Sensory Room.
Hopefully by now you have plenty of sponsors and don’t forget to wear your 80’s clothes and bright colours!
Flu Season Is Upon Us Parents/Carers : please take note of the following media release from the NSW Department of Health.
“Flu season starts - vaccinate now to beat the bug”. Go to www.health.gov.au news to view the release in full.
Recommended steps to help prevent the spread of influenza:
Cough and sneeze into your elbow, not your hands
Clean your hands thoroughly
Stay home when you are sick
Please do not send children to school if they are coughing or have flu symptoms including temperatures or sore
throats. In the confined space of a classroom, colds and flu spread like wildfire. For the wellbeing of both staff
and students, we thank you for your consideration and cooperation .

Carers NSW is facilitating a workshop in Katoomba on Thursday 13th June for parents/carers of children from newborns to age 12 who have a disability.
The workshop is an initiative of the Better Start program which is funded by the Department of Social services to work collaboratively with communities to support families with the transition to and engagement with the NDIS.
The Early Days Moving Forward Workshops are for any parent/carers of a child 0-12 living with disability. The focus of the workshop is to enable parents and guardians to better support their child through these transition periods while learning more about the systems, therapies and supports available for their child as a participant in mainstream services, school, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
They are also designed to allow opportunities for families to discuss and share experiences, challenges and aspirations for the future with other families and provide practical information on family advocacy and inclusiveness. Enquiries to Jenifer Meyer on 9280 4744.

K/6N are the BMX Bandits! During Term 2 K/6N take to the field to learn how to ride a bike or for those who know already, they get to ride around the oval with their friends. Jumps are also used for the more adventurous riders. Here is what K/6N think about bike riding:
Levi - This is my favourite activity
Xanthea - It is fun to learn new things
Luke - It makes muscles in your legs grow bigger
Damian - Go slowly
Banjo - I have learnt to go fast
Anthony - The thing I like about bike riding is that I learnt how to change gears.
