Students don’t need a Christian School in order for this to happen. Though, through being part of our school, we trust that students will understand and fully appreciate the new life they have in Christ, so that they might be faithful ambassadors in this world. A distinct feature of Illawarra Christian School is that we teach and proclaim Jesus as the truth “…so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge…” (Colossian 2:2b – 3). Students are equipped in the truth through several means. They study God’s general and special revelation. God’s revelation of himself through creation is called general revelation, for it is available to all people, no maer what their relationship to God. The curriculum in all schools is drawn from God’s general revelation, though at Illawarra Christian School we acknowledge God as the author. Romans 1:20: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” We believe that the Bible (God’s special revelation) plays an important role in helping us understand general revelation. The Bible serves as a lens through which we see and understand the world. It is through the Bible that a worldview is developed and that each subject is taught. Students must also be equipped to carry out the work of their king in his world. 2 Corinthians 10:3 – 5: “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to God.” At Illawarra Christian School it is our desire that truth be applied, discernment exercised, and every thought be taken captive for Christ, who is the Lord and King of all. Twilight Fete and Open Day Saturday 2nd April 4pm-8pm Notes have been sent home in relation to how you can help on Fete day. If each school family does one hour, our fete will be a huge success as we work together as a community. If you can help, you can email a coordinator as per the note or contact the office and you will be put in touch with a coordinator. Jesus looked at them and said "with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 Continue to pray for Year 12 as they undertake exams over the next week. Give thanks for our parent reps and the sense of community they help bring to our school. Pray for preparation for the Twilight Fete and Open Day. TERM 1 WEEK 6• 11TH MARCH 2016

It was great to have a team of students from 7-12 who worked so well together. They came 3rd in their first heat, 2nd in their second heat, and qualified for the final. (For the first time in ICS history!).It was a super close final, there were only two seconds between 1st and 4th, and we came away with 4th.
