1. Blood Donation under ANITS & Life share Blood Bank 18-03-2019

The NSS unit of Civil Engineering department, ANITS, Visakhapatnam organized a blood

donation camp on National blood donation day in association with Life shared blood bank in March

2020. The camp began at 10.00 am in ANITS Admin Block room no. A311 with a short inaugural

function where Principal, ANITS expressed his gratitude to the NSS unit of the college. He also

stressed on the growing need of blood in the state and commended the young volunteers for their

noble act. teaching, non-teaching staff and students came forward to donate blood during the camp

which included donors. At the end 210 units of Blood was collected and given to Life shared blood

bank. The blood donors were given Apple, Biscuits and fruit juice after donating the blood in order to

reenergize themselves. The blood donation camp was co –ordinated by Mr.K.SatyaNarayana and

L.Dinesh, N.S.S co-ordinator of the college and N.Srinivas Naidu is department of ECE co-

ordinator.

2. Household survey, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan- 20-02-2020

The NSS unit of Civil Engineering department, ANITS, Visakhapatnam has initiated household

survey in college nearest villages under ANITS Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme. During survey the

NSS team has conducted the village survey on education of school children in Government school,

rain-water harvesting facilities and portable drinking water facilities. This survey was done with the

help of NSS volunteers and Non-Teaching staff. This event was organised and coordinated by

Mr.K.SatyaNarayana and Dinesh, N.S.S co-ordinator of the college and all departments NSS

co-ordinators.

3. Blood Donation under ANITS & Lions Club 20-08-2019

The NSS unit of Civil Engineering, IT and ME Departments, ANITS, Visakhapatnam

organized a blood donation camp on National blood donation day in association with Lions

club blood bank. The camp began at 10.00 am in ANITS Admin Block room no. A211 with a

short inaugural function where Principal,ANITS expressed his gratitude to the NSS unit of

the college. He also stressed on the growing need of blood in the state and commended the

young volunteers for their noble act. Student volunteers came forward to donate blood during

the camp which included teaching,non-teaching staff and students donors. At the end 22 units

of Blood was collected and given to Lions Club blood bank. Many students voluntarily came

forward to donate the blood and done their part in saving lives. The blood donors were given

Apple, Biscuits and fruit juice after donating the blood in order to reenergize them. The blood

donation camp was coordinated by Mr.K.SatyaNarayana and L.Dinesh, N.S.S co-ordinator of

the college.

4. SWATCH ANITS- 13-08-2019

The NSS unit ANITS conducted Swachh ANITS program and they cleaned the

engineering and medical college premises. All the students took active participation and

made the campus clean. With the motive of creating awareness regarding cleanliness among

the people, we conducted an event named SWATCH ANITS in the college premises with the

NSS team of ANITS. NSS team includes staff and students in the department. NSS

volunteers and students actively participated in getting the premises clean and green. Both

Engineering and medical campus premises were cleaned by the NSS. With the motivation

from Principal sir, the programme was done effectively with all the support from staff and

students.

5. PLASTIC BAN RALLY-01-10-2019

The NSS teams of ECE and ME conducted Plastic Ban rally program in and around

college premises and they have collected plastic related waste in the engineering and medical

college premises. Students carried hundreds of placards with messages of safe environment.

During the 2km rally, they distributed pamphlets on ‘Refuse-Reuse-Recycle Plastic’ and

explained people on the need of environmental protection. The rally witnessed placards and

signboards suggesting affordable alternatives to plastic. At the end of the program our

beloved principal sir addressed the program and appreciated the NSS volunteers for

organizing useful program to the society.

6. EYE TESTING CAMP 29-06-2019

With the motive of creating awareness regarding importance of healthy eyes, we

conducted an event named EYE TESTING CAMP (in Association with NRI Hospital) in the

college campus with the NSS team of CSE. NSS team includes staff and students in the

department. NSS volunteers and students actively participated by getting the tests done with

staff and students effectively. With the motivation from Principal sir, the programme was

done effectively with all the support from staff and students. Many students and staff has

availed this facility in campus.

7. SCHOOL CHILDREN PROGRAM AT NAMMIVANI PETA - 18/12/2019

The NSS unit of Mechanical department, ANITS, Visakhapatnam has conducted

school children program in Nammivanipeta primary school to enquire the facilities provided

to the students and they interact with the students to know their need under ANITS Unnat

Bharat Abhiyan scheme. During the session NSS team has conducted the survey on education

of school children and portable drinking water facilities. This survey was done with the help

of NSS volunteers and Non-Teaching staff. This event was organised and coordinated by

Mr.K.SatyaNarayana and Dinesh, N.S.S co-ordinator of the college and N.Srinivas Naidu is

department of ECE co-ordinator.

8. NSS 50 Years Golden Jubilee On Eco-Friendly Campus- 24-09-2019

The NSS unit of ANITS is celebrated 50 years of NSS, Golden Jubilee of NSS day and in

this all the NSS volunteers and coordinators are actively participated.

9. NSS SEMINAR AS PER AICTE GUIDE LINES 28-08-2019

As per AICTE guide lines in order to join the first year students into NSS team an

induction program was organized by ANITS NSS team. Mrs. Bindu Niharika, Dept. of

ME took an active initiation to organize this event and motivated the students towards the

importance of NSS in nation building and community service and about ANITS NSS

activities done so far. Allother department NSS coordinators and HODS also attended this

event and shared their message on NSS team building in ANITS.

10. Eco Ganesha Program 22-08-2019

On the eve of Ganesh Chaturdhi college RACE team conducted Eco Ganesha

Competition. Students of ANITS Engineering college had distributed eco-friendly Ganesha

idols to the staff and nearby public on the act of protecting environment. Idols are made of

recycled natural products and by products like rice husk ash, cane waste etc. collected from

the industries. 30 students are participated in the event. The principal of the college visited

and appreciated the students who were making the idols. The students from all departments

took active participation and HODs of all departments announced winners.

11. Fund Collection for Orphanage Home

Mechanical department of ANITS has collected funds during September 2019. The

objective of communal harmony campaign week is to raise donations for the physical &

psychological support of the orphan or destitute children affected by violence. Fund was

collected within the department from teaching and non-teaching staff and also from students.

Finally money is given to “Child Orphanage”, New Paradesipalem, Andhra Pradesh. Not

only money food is also distributed to the child orphanage children, they felt so happy on that

day. The child Orphanage people used this fund for hospital purpose.

12. NRI Blood Donation- 19-08-2019

have conducted an event named Blood Donation Camp (in Association with NRI Hospital) in

the college with the NSS team of Mechanical department. NSS team includes staff and

students in the department. NSS volunteers and students actively participated by donating

blood and All the collected blood units were submitted to hospital. With the motivation from

Principal sir, the programme was done effectively with all the support from staff and

students.

13. Fund Collection for poor-23-July -2019

Mechanical department of ANITS has collected funds during July 2019. The objective of

1. Relief camp on Srikakulam cyclone 14-10-2018

Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Titli was a deadly and destructive tropical cyclone that

caused extensive damage to Srikakulam,Andhra Pradesh in the month of October 2018. This

TITLI cyclone damaged many houses and trees. The NSS cell of ANITS has organized a

relief camp on TITLI cyclone affected in Srikakulam. Students and faculty members has

participated in the relief camp to distribute necessary commodities like blankets and basic

nutritional food items like rice bags, sugar bags etc. victims of the cyclone were very kindly

handled on the grounds of humanity. Media and public had appreciated the event.

2. NRI Blood Donation 30-08-2018

A blood donation camp is organized by the NSS cell of ANITS on the grounds of

humanity. Students and faculty members in large members has participated in the event and

donated blood. Fruits and nutritional beverages were distributed to those who donated the

blood. The principal of the college has visited the camp, gave his view on importance of

blood donation and appreciated the students and staff who has participated in the event.

3. Medical camp at NRI - 22 & 23 Aug 2018

NSS cell of ANITS has organized a medical camp in August 2018 with collaboration

with NRI hospital, Sangivalasa. The aim of conducting this camp is to properly guide

the poor people in curing their health related problems. A large gathering of public

has participated and took the service of medical camp. A few types of basic medicines

were also distributed free of cost to the poor people. The principal of ANITS

Engineering college has visited and appreciated the medicos and other organizing

committee of the camp.

4. NRI Dental camp- 20-08-2018

NSS cell of ANITS has organized a dental camp in August 2018 with collaboration

with NRI hospital, Sangivalasa. The aim of conducting this camp is to properly guide the

poor people in curing their dental related problems. A large gathering of public has

participated and took the service of dental camp. A few types of basic dental medicines like

tooth paste were also distributed free of cost to the poor people. The principal of ANITS

Engineering college has visited and appreciated the medicos and other organizing committee

of the camp.

5. Save water rally at Tagarapuvalasa and Chittivalasa- 27-07-2018

The NSS cell of ANITS has organized a rally on creating awareness among the public

about ‘Importance of water’. The rally is conducted within the nearby villages of the college

campus. The principal of college has started the rally at the college entrance gate. A large

number of students and faculty members has participated and made this event succeed.

6. Fund raised for ANITS Non-Teaching staff (sudden expiry) 05-12-2018

The NSS cell of ANITS has initiated the process of raising money for a non-teaching

staff who went through sudden expiry. Money has been collected from all the

departments of the college and finally returned to the family of deceased through the

principal. A good amount of money is also raised from the college administration to

the deceased.

7. Eco Ganesha Program- 12-09-2018

On the eve of Ganesh Chaturdhi college RACE team conducted Eco Ganesha

Competition.Students of ANITS Engineering college had distributed eco-friendly

Ganesha idols to the staff and nearby public on the act of protecting environment.

8. Visakha Police commisionerate Election duties – 10-04-2019 & 11-09-2019

The NSS cell of ANITS has involved in assigning the students to general election

duties in Visakhapatnam urban and rural areas. The duties were assigned and controlled by

the women police station of Visakhapatnam. Around 25 students have participated in these

duties. However, these duties can be considered as service to the public.

9. Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam – 27-07-2018

NSS cell of ANITS HAS conducted a program as token of gratitude to Former Indian

President and well known Scientist Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam. The faculty fraternity and students

of all departments shared their views on Kalam Sir Services to this world. The principal of

the college has also participated and gave his view on Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam

10. Swatch ANITS- 14-Aug 2018

With the motive of creating awareness regarding cleanliness among the people, the

11. Group Discussion on Social Events- Feb 2019

With the motive of encouraging students regarding public speaking skills, the NSS

team of Mechanical engineering has conducted Group Discussion program among the

students. In this, students have explored their views in many social events like water

management, importance of smart cities etc. NSS volunteers and students are actively

participated in group discussion and shares their views. At the end of session,

Principal sir is appreciated the NSS coordinators for organizing this event in a smooth

manner.

12. Plantation in ANITS on INDEPENDENCE DAY- 15-Aug 2018

On the occasion of Independence Day the NSS team of ANITS has initiated

plantation program in the college campus on 15 & 16 August 2018. The students, the dean-

examination and principal and faculty actively participated in this event and planted various

plant samplings in college campus. Our faculty had also explained about the importance of

2. SWATCH SURVEKSHAN- 25-Jan- 2017

The objective of the survey is to encourage large scale citizen participation, ensure

sustainability of initiatives taken towards garbage free and open defecation free cities,

provide credible outcomes which would be validated by third party certification,

institutionalize existing systems through online processes and create awareness amongst all

sections of society about the importance of working together towards making towns and

cities more habitable and sustainable. Additionally, the survey also intends to foster a spirit of

healthy competition amongst towns and cities to improve their service delivery to citizens

and move towards creating cleaner cities. The GVMC, Visakhapatnam is conducted

“SwachhSurvekshan 2018” in ANITS campus. GVMC people has given clear introduction about

3. Swachh ANITS - 08-11-2017

With the motive of creating awareness regarding cleanliness among the people , we

1. Yoga for Holistic Health & Well Being-11/02/2017

The NSS Unit of ANITS conducted the event in a well-organized manner and the

faculty and students from various departments actively participated in this event. The

principal and the HoD of Chemical and ECE inaugurated the event. The principal of ANITS

addressed the gathering and said that yoga is a way of one’s life style. It has a clear influence

on person mental and physical health. Good number participants attended the event and

practiced some simple asana in the central auditorium.

2. Mega Health camp-1/10/2016

The Lions Club, Vizag and RACE student body of ANITS, taken an initiative to

support rural people health, conducted a mega health camp at nearby village Chittivalasa. The

medical camp was organized with the support of college management. The camp includes

Blood Pressure, Diabetic check-up, eye check-up, dietary counselling and physical

consultation. Medicines are distributed freely for some of the health problems and advised for

further investigations.NSS volunteers helped in registration and medical cards, which were

issued to the teaching and Non-teaching staff. There was an excellent response to the medical

camp. More than 160 patients took benefit of free consultation. Medical camp ended at

around 4:00 P.M. At the end, all went away very happy – both the patients and the team of

doctors

3. Yoga Event- 21/06/2016

This NSS unit ANITS conducted a yoga event of International Yoga day in ANITS

campus. NSS Units of ANITS was celebrated a festival of yoga and wellbeing on the

occasion of international yoga day with great enthusiasm. 50 participants took part in that

event. All the NSS Volunteers, teaching and non-teaching staff members of the institute, and

students participated in the event. Participants of all age groups participated in the event with

great enthusiasm. A yoga trainer accompanied by 2 trained volunteers was there to conduct

the yoga practice.

4. Save water -27/07/2016

UTOO CAN club, department of Mechanical Engineering students has conducted

Awareness Camp “Save Water” in local village Chittivalasa in association with GVMC

Visakhapatnam. By this programme villagers learn water conservation, water recharging

&saving of water. It was attended by NSS Programme Coordinators and more than 20 student

volunteers. Students showed their active participation in this program.

5. Seminar on VANAM MANAM - 10/08/2016

NSS unit, ANITS conducted student seminar on VANAM MANAM and all the

student fraternity took active participation. Tree plantation programme was inaugurated by

planting a sapling by our honourable Principal with well worshiped in the name of God. Staff

6. Blood Donation Camp in association with Lions Club -10/08/2016

NSS unit, ANITS in association with Lions Club, Vizag conducted blood donation

camp in the campus and the participants number was nearly double to previous year (2015-

16). ANITS NSS team in association with Lion Club, Vizag conducted blood donation camp

in the campus on the grounds of humanity. Students and faculty members in large members

has participated in the event and donated blood. Fruits and nutritional beverages were

distributed to those who donated the blood. The principal of the college has visited the camp,

gave his view on importance of blood donation and appreciated the students and staff who

have participated in the event. At the end of the event all blood sample units are handed over

to lions club.

7. Swachh ANITS - 13/08/2016

The college NSS unit has conducted a “SWACCH ANITS” campaign to create

awareness on "clean and green" which is inaugurated by the beloved Director.150 students of

the college have stood up and taken initiation to clean all the surroundings and participated in

a rally in engineering and medical college campus to create mindfulness about clean

premises. At the end of the event principal appreciated all volunteers and students for

organizing this event in good manner.

1. Eco Ganesha event – 15-09-2015

On the eve of Ganesh Chaturdhi college RACE team conducted Eco Ganesha

Competition. Students of ANITS Engineering College had distributed eco-friendly Ganesha

idols to the staff and nearby public on the act of protecting environment. Idols are made of

recycled natural products and by products like rice husk ash, cane waste etc collected from

the industries. The principal of the college visited and appreciated the students who were

making the idols and created awareness on plaster of paris effects on the environment. The

Winners were announced by department HoDs.

2. CAMPUS CLEANING (All DEPT) -25/09/2015

On the call of Hon. PM Sri NarendraModi , ANITS organized campus cleaning

program. The NSS unit of our college conducted a campus cleaning programme on (date)

under the guidance of our beloved principal. All the NSS Volunteers and students were

engaged in this cleaning programme. The NSS coordinator divided the NSS Volunteers into

several groups. Each group members were allocated with a particular area for cleaning. Three

groups were asked to collect all the stones from the ground separately in different sacs. The

renewable such as dry leaves, twigs, papers etc. and non-renewable wastes such as carry bags

and plastic items etc. were collected separately. The renewable wastewas collected and burnt.

At the end the NSS volunteers as well as the students were provided snacks.

3. Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam - 27/07/2015

All NSS volunteers were gathered at sharp 9:30 am in central auditorium. After all

were settled a power point presentation was conducted by NSS central coordinator. A

documentary film on the life and achievements of Kalam was screened in which contained a

compilation of interviews with Dr.Kalam which focused on launching of the missiles, his

contribution to education system, and also his experiences of his life, it was very good to

listen to him. He is a inspiration to any person of doing good to the nation, to contribute to

the development to our country. All participants paid tribute to demised soul of legendary

scientist at the end of the session.

4. SWATCH ANITS -20/10/2015

The college NSS unit has conducted a “SWACCH ANITS” campaign to create

awareness on "clean and green" which is inaugurated by the beloved principal. Good number

of students of the college have stood up and taken initiation to clean all the surroundings and

participated in a rally with slogans in engineering and medical college campus to avoid ODF

(Open Defecation), in order to prevent viral diseases from surroundings. At the end of the

event principal appreciated all volunteers and students for organizing this event in good

manner.

6. Chennai Relief Fund -12/12/2015

Chennai has been experienced record breaking rains and flooding since early

November. Beginning on 1 December, the rain intensified again creating more flooding and

caused thousands of people to be stranded and trapped. An estimated 200+people have died,

and over 200,000 have been displaced. It is the time to show our harmony to Chennai and

other parts affected by floods. In this regard NSS Cell of ME department started fund

collection program. All the faculty and non-teaching faculty have generously contributed.

The amount is handed over to the respective government authorities by Central NSS

coordinator.
