MySabre™ , based on patented Sabre technology and fortified with Yahoo technology, is a Web-based agent booking portal that integrates all the travel information you need — including the Sabre® global distribution system — right from your desktop. Its intelligent technology delivers relevant and local content within your workflow, and generates additional revenue and new merchant sales opportunities through interactive offers.

Plus, you can find destination information, weather, maps, currency exchange, and much more. All this is available from anywhere you can access the Internet!

You can even customize content with your agency’s preferences for languages, favorite hyperlinks, tools, and options!

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Sign into MySabre™ and access the Sabre system

• Open the Travel Products portlet to access booking tools, such as Sabre with Point & Click, Last Minute Deals, Cruises, Sabre Vacations, Today’s Low Fares and Specialty Bookings

• Open the Agent Tools portlet to access productivity tools, such as Format Finder, Document Delivery, Sabre Travel Protection, Agency Applications and Graphical Ticketing

• Access Destination Details to display destination information, weather, maps, currency exchange rates and much more

• Access Agency eServices to sign up for online classes, print quick references, order equipment, print booking reports and more

1. Click on the MySabre desktop icon

- or - type https://my.sabre.com in your Internet browser. The Sign In screen appears.

2. In the Language drop-down menu, select your preferred language.

3. In the Agent ID field, enter the ID that you use to sign in to the Sabre system.

4. In the Password field, enter your Sabre system password. For your office’s security, it is imperative that each agent sign in with their own confidential password.

5. In the PCC field, enter your pseudo city code.

6. Click Sign In. The MySabre home page appears.

Note: First time users will need to complete My Profile to set up their system configuration. This is a one-time process only.

Menu Selection Description

1 Sabre system menu Use the Menu Bar (above the work area) to customize your Sabre system settings.

2 Sabre system work area

This work area automatically displays the Sabre system. Use the Sabre system screens and functions you're familiar with, while leveraging Windows technology!

3 Separator bar * When supplemental applications under Travel Products or Agent Tools are selected, this separator bar raises up to display a separate work area for the secondary application.

4 Travel Products * Use these applications to book travel for your clients; • Sabre with Point & Click • Last Minute Deals • Cruise • Sabre Vacations • Today’s Low Fares • Specialty Bookings

Task Description

Access the menu bar Use the Menu Bar (above the work area) to customize your Sabre system settings.

Display or hide optional components, such as:

• the Command Line • the Memo Area • PF Key Labels • Quick Key Labels

Click on View in the Menu Bar, then select the component (Command Line, Memo Area, PF Key Labels, Quick Key Labels) to display or hide. The component will be displayed if it is checked or hidden if unchecked.

Specify location of PF Keys and Quick Key labels

Click on Options in the Menu Bar, then select Configuration. PF Keys can be shown on the right side of your screen or hidden. Quick Key labels can be shown on the top, bottom, or left of your screen or be hidden.

Click on Options in the Menu Bar, then select Configuration. Click to remove the checkmark in the “Point and Click Highlighting” box to turn off the highlighted text in the system response area. Click to remove the checkmark in the “Point and Click Tool Tips” box to turn off the tool tips that appear when your cursor rests on a highlight.

Click on Options in the Menu Bar, then select Configuration to change the function of the Backspace key. Placing a checkmark in the “Swap Backspace to Clear” box will make the Backspace key clear the entire Sabre system response when pressed.

Task Description

Change the screen color Click on Options in the Menu Bar, then select Colors to change the color of the text you type (User-input Text), the Sabre Response Text, Background and Sabre Highlight Text.

Caution: The highlighting for Sabre with Point and Click is light blue and can not be customized. It is easiest to see on a screen with a dark background color, such as dark blue.

Change from full to split screen

Activate WinGroup

Click on File in the Menu Bar, then select Full or Split to change the screen from full screen to split screen or vice-a-versa. The option that is checked will be displayed. Select WinGroup to open multiple work areas. Tabs will appear at the bottom of the screen allowing you to click to navigate between the work areas.

Run a script Click on Tools in the Menu Bar, then select Execute SabreScript and select a pre-programmed script. Shortcut: Press Ctrl+A to open the SabreScript window.

The Sabre system defaults to appearing in the work area of MySabre’s “Home” page. Even though you signed in when accessing the MySabre portal, for added security, you must also sign into the Sabre system work area. Remember, it is imperative that each agent sign in with their own unique, confidential password. Agents within an office should never share a password.

7 PF Keys (optional) PF Key labels can be customized to be hidden from view or appear on the right of your screen (in two columns: keys 1-12 and keys 13-24). The size of the Sabre system will automatically adjusts to accommodate viewing the PF keys.

Based on your Sabre system entry, special offers (1 to 3 lines of text) may appear with your response. These offers are intuitive and interactive and can frequently be booked with a simple click on the highlighted text prompt!

Agent59 Last Minute Deals will appear in a Yellow Box above your Sabre system response when certain criteria (such as travel dates and destination) are met. Double click the highlighted text or type LMD1 or LMD2 in the Sabre system. The Agent59 application will open in the secondary application area so that you can book the package, if desired.

• These offers will not appear if the system detects that your office has a Sabre Script is running in the Sabre system, so that your scripts are not impacted.

• Agent59 Last Minute Deals and how to use the secondary application area are discussed in more detail later in this guide.

9 Promotional Area Advertising may appear on the bottom right side of the Home page. Be sure to watch for special products that you can offer your clients. Many of the offers can be booked quickly by clicking on the ad. Clicking the ad will open a separate browser window.

• Use the Sabre with Point and Click portlet to generate formats to the Sabre system Features

• Increase your work efficiency without having to learn any new formats. You can still type and enter Sabre system formats directly into the Sabre system, but now you have more options!

• Tool Tips automatically appear when you rest your mouse over highlighted text, letting you know what action will take place when double-clicking on that highlighted text

• Sabre with Point and Click is available for air availability, airfares and rules, seat selection, cars, hotels, queues, calendar, PNR functions and more! Plus, future enhancements will include more Point and Click functions!

• A wealth of quick references for various Point and Click functions are available in the MySabre Help Center.

Display Availability and Book a Flight using Sabre with Point & Click

Point & Click air availability example response

• You can use the Sabre with Point & Click > Air > Availability feature to request a specific airline or Direct Access.

Availability tips!

• After using the Air Availability portlet to display availability, the portlet will return to the original default display.

• In the Availability response, click on the carrier code to display applicable fares.

• In the Availability response, click on the flight number to display flight details.

Booking Tips! Question Answer

How do I book a flight? First, click to update the Number of Seats field in the portlet if you are booking more than one seat.

Then, double-click on the class of service for the desired flight segment. The system will book the flight and display the confirmed segment.

How do I book connecting flights? Double-clicking on the first flight segment will automatically sell both segments.

What if I accidentally click on a class of service on the connecting (second) flight?

A special portlet will open to help you book the correct flights in the correct class of service!

What if I want to book a flight in a particular class of service, but availability shows zero seats available?

Double-click on the class of service that is showing zero seats available.

If the airline allows the waitlist, you will see the segment booked with an LL status code.

If the waitlist is closed, the segment is returned with a UC status code.

Click Hotel in the Sabre with Point & Click portlet (under the Travel Products tab). Open portlet

Click Hotel to open the hotel feature

The asterisk (*) indicates required fields

Tip! Use the Location specifics fields to request a hotel in a specific area. Note: The default is Airport locations.

Optional: Click Open rate specific fields to request a specific rate code, contract code, negotiated code or a rate maximum.

Optional: Click Open hotel specific fields to enter a hotel name, chain code, property type or amenities.

Tip! If an itinerary is active the work area, the hotel feature will automatically be populated with pertinent information.

• Line number to display a Hotel Description (HOD) for that property • 2-letter hotel chain code to display a list of the chain’s properties at this destination • distance and direction indicator to display points of interest (HOG) near this hotel • HOT* to display more hotel availability

Double-click on the property name in the hotel availability response. An interactive screen will display property details, photos, real-time room availability, rates, and other vital information!

All hotels from the hotel availability response in the Sabre system are plotted on the map and identified by number. The hotel names and numbers correspond to the names & line numbers in the hotel availability response.

From the Hotel Maps & Photos response, click on the… Hotel Maps & Photos Tips • desired Zoom level for a closer view or farther view

• directional indicator arrows to move the map view to the North, South, East or West • hotel photo to view an enlarged photo • photo number under More Photos to view additional hotel photos • View Rates and Descriptions to view the hotel rate description screen • name of any hotel in the hotel list to view photos for a different hotel • More hotels> to request more hotels or <Prev hotels to display the previous list • Return to Sabre System to return to the Sabre system screen

From the Hotel Description response, click on the line number to sell the hotel room & rate plan.

The Hotel > Availability > Sell feature will open in the Point and Click portlet.

Enter the necessary information in the fields

Optional: Click Open Frequent Traveler Info and/or Open Additional Requests to enter additional information.

Click GO to book the room.

Book a hotel

Display the PNR containing the hotel segment to be modified.

Double click on HHL in the hotel segment.

The Hotel Modify feature will automatically open in the portlet and will be populated with the booking information.

Modify the desired information. Note: Dimmed fields indicate information that can not be modified. You need to cancel the booking and make a new booking.

Click GO to send the Hotel Modify entry to the Sabre system.

• 2-letter vendor code to display a list of this vendor’s rental locations at this destination • Vendor name to display a Car Quote for this vendor • Car type code to display the car type description and example makes and models • Car rate to display the rate rules description • Extra mile charge to display the car policy for this vendor

From the car availability response, click on the line number to sell a specific car.

The Car > Availability > Sell feature will open in the Point and Click portlet.

Sabre with Point and Click – PNR Services

PNR Services is a easy-to-use window to add special requests or info to a PNR, such as:

• Special Service Request (SSR) – meals (diabetic, kosher, etc), special assistance (deaf, blind, pet in cabin, etc), wheelchair

• Other Service Information (OSI) – miscellaneous free text info for the carrier

• Frequent Flyer – generates the traveler’s frequent flyer account info to carrier

Procedure

Display a PNR or be in the process of creating a new PNR. 1

2 Click on Tools in the menu bar (above the Sabre system work area),

then select PNR Services.

Shortcut: CTRL + O

3 The PNR Services window will automatically be populated with the passenger names and air segments from the PNR.

Sabre with Point and Click – Encode/Decode

Do have ever forget a travel industry code or forget the format to encode/decode? The new Encode/Decode feature makes it quick and easy!

Procedure

1 Click on Tools in the menu bar (above the Sabre system work area), then select Encode/Decode

Shortcut: CTRL + D

2 The Encode/Decode pop up window will appear. • Click the down arrow in the Category field to view and select from the list of categories, such as airlines,

airport codes, car and hotel vendors, etc.

• Click the Encode or Decode button

• Enter the word you want to encode - or - the code you want to decode.

3 Click Search. The results will be displayed.

Click Close Window or ⌧ to close the Encode/Decode pop-up window.

There is also a Encode window that can be accessed from within the Sabre with Point and

Click portlet. Whenever you see this Encode icon behind a field, you can click the icon to open an Encode window.

Sabre with Point and Click – Memo Pad

The Memo Pad feature allows you to quickly capture a Sabre system format and its response for later use. The Memo Pad is only applicable after you have entered a format in the Sabre system and the response is displayed.

Procedure

1 The Sabre system entry and response that you wish to capture must be in your Sabre system work area.

2 Click Tools in the menu bar (above the Sabre system work area), then select Memo Pad

Shortcut: CTRL + Y

3 A pop-up window appears which contains a copy of the last Sabre system entry and response that was displayed in the Sabre system work area.

4 Click the Minimize button to reduce the new window and to keep the Memo Pad for further use. If you have a Memo Pad active and you return to the Sabre system work area and clear the screen, the contents of the Memo Pad remains active, allowing you to use Sabre with Point and Click features highlighted in the Memo Pad. This is an example of three separate minimized Memo Pads:

5 Click the Maximize button to restore the Memo Pad window for use. You can use the Memo Pad to quickly return to a Sabre system response and use Sabre with Point and Click to select a highlighted field. When you double-click a highlighted field, the Sabre system format and its response appear in the Sabre system work area.

6 You may create as many Memo Pads as necessary.

Just repeat Step 1 after each Sabre system entry and response that you wish to save in a Memo Pad.

7 Click the X to close the Memo Pad. The Memo Pad is no longer available for use once you close it.

Using Travel Products and Agent Tools

• The Home page automatically defaults to displaying the Sabre system work area.

• Clicking on the Travel Products or Agent Tools tabs will display a drop down list of various applications on the right side of your screen.

• As you move your cursor over the options listed, a brief description of each application appears below the list.

• Click the application of your choice to open the corresponding portlet for that application. (Only one Travel Product or Agent Tool can be open at a time.)

• Complete the portlet fields and click GO to activate the application.

• The Separator Bar will automatically raise up (covering almost all of the Sabre system work area) to display the Secondary Application area, which will be populated with the requested application.

Returning to the Sabre system work area (emulator)

There are several methods to return to the Sabre system work area when you have the Secondary Application area open:

Using the Format Finder “Send to Sabre” Feature

Clicking the Send to Sabre button will send any information in this field into the Sabre system. (Applicable to I-Frame mode only)

Shortcut: You can copy a format from a Format Finder response and paste it into this field! Edit the format, if necessary, then click Send to Sabre.

Configure the Format Finder Screen Display

There are two different display options for how you want Format Finder responses to open on your desktop:

• I-Frame Display (default method) - Format Finder responses will appear in the Secondary Application work area of the MySabre home page. This method offers the Send to Sabre feature.

• Separate Window Display – Format Finder responses will open in a separate, pop-up, browser window. You can use ALT+TAB to toggle between windows. (This display option does not include the Send to Sabre feature.)

Access the Configure Format Finder screen by clicking Configure Screen Display in the Format Finder portlet. Select your display preference and click Save changes. You can change the screen display anytime you want.

Using Format Finder AutoHelp feature

AutoHelp is a Format Finder feature that automatically launches the help system anytime you make a format error in the Sabre system. The system defaults AutoHelp to “off”, but it is easy to change!

• Long and complex ticketing formats are made quick, easy and accurate using Graphical

Ticketing! Features

• Issue different types of ticketing transactions, such as electronic tickets, Phase IV tickets and exchange tickets

• Ability to verify pricing information prior to ticket issuance

• Enter optional information such as baggage allowances, tour codes, ticketing endorsements, etc.

Verify the information is correct and click OK. d. Click Store Fare with FP (optional), then click Continue. e. The ticketing window re-appears. f. A blue dot appears on the Pricing button to indicate that pricing

information is ready to be sent. 9 If all information is correct, click Issue Ticket. The Sabre system response

appears in the lower part of the screen. The data waiting indicator dot on the pricing button is gone after the ticket is issued.

10 Click Close PNR (right side of ticketing window) to end the record.

Note: Depending on the option chosen in the Print box, the PNR may already be closed.

Customize currencies

Notice there are two currency converter portlets (on the Destination Details page). You can use the portlet in the work area (right side of screen) to customize currency conversions of your choice!

1. Click edit on the currency converter portlet (right side of screen) to begin.

2. Select up to six currency conversions that you want to automatically appear.

3. Click Save Changes.

4. Your custom currency conversions will automatically appear on the Destination Details

page in MySabre!

The Weather portlet provides quick access to weather information and forecasts. Click Weather (on the Destination Details page) to open the weather portlet. Enter the three-letter airport or city code in the Search box and click GO.

The weather portlet in the work area of the Destination Details page can be customized to automatically display the current weather for your favorite cities. Click Edit to add or remove cities (up to ten) and select the temperature scale (Fahrenheit or Celsius).

Keyword tips The “keyword” field is similar to using an Internet browser’s search engine. For the most success, enter a city or country name. If no alerts for that destination exist, the response will be “No Information Available.”

Now that you’ve have an overview of all the different tools available on the MySabre portal, lets see how to put it all together to make a sample leisure booking.

Goal Scenario Action

Customer calls travel agent

The customer wants to book a long-weekend trip to Cancun, to celebrate his wedding anniversary.

Use the Memo area of the Sabre system work area to make notes about the customer’s request, such as dates, times, preferences, etc.

Retrieve customer info

This is a repeat customer who already has an account with your agency.

Retrieve the customer’s Star profile record in the Sabre system and “move” the information into the Sabre work area.

Book flights and confirm airfare

Even though this trip is for a special occasion, the customer would like to obtain the lowest fare possible.

Use Sabre with Point & Click to display airfares, check availability and book the itinerary.

If applicable, based on the travel dates & city pairs, the response may include an offer for a Last Minute Deal (Agent59) package.

Book hotel reservation

The customer needs hotel reservations also.

Use Sabre with Point & Click to quickly display hotel availability and rates.

Check entry requirements

The agent needs to check the entry requirements for this customer (a U.S. Citizen) to enter Mexico.

Click on Destination Detail, then Travel Guides. Request Latin America, then Mexico, and click GO.

Check for travel alerts

The customer asks if there are any travel alerts for travel to Mexico.

Enter Mexico in the Travel Alerts by Nationwide Intelligence portlet on the Destination Details page and click GO.

Print currency conversion chart

The agent offers the customer a handy currency conversion chart for Mexican Peso – US Dollars

Click the Destination Detail tab, then Currency Converter.

Complete PNR and e-mail trip info

The customer asks for a copy of the itinerary and hotel information.

Complete the PNR. Click on Document Delivery on the Home page. Enter the e-mail information and click Send. Sabre Virtually There will automatically send an e-mail to the customer with a link to their online itinerary.
