by london. walking along the

southbank you always see

couples kissing –the location is

just so romantic and they seem

to be lost in the moment. it took

a while to find the perfect bridge

but i think this is it.

A & Bee kind of came out of nowhere. I was sitting in a beer garden on a hot

summer day discussing the plight of bees. Often you see one which appears to be

dead, but is actually just in need of a little help to get it back on track. (You’ll be

happy to know that no bees were harmed in the creation of this artwork.)

a groovy Kind of love

a groovy Kind of love is the sequel

to ‘in the groove’. our hero was just

grooving to the sounds on his own, but

at last he has found the love of his life

and now they are grooving together.

this pink vinyl in a vintage record shop

was an absolute gift and i knew it would

make the perfect setting.

Chalk & Cheese grew from a

memory of my schooldays. All

those broken pieces of chalk at

the bottom of the board, and if

you were quick you could make

it up there and write something

on there – maybe to your class

sweetheart – a split second

before the teacher walked in.

Incidentally I love using chalk in

my images as it is a great way of

showing scale.

big love was in the air one day

and i wanted to create a tribute to it

– some kind of homage to the sheer

scale of the thing! this led me to

thinking about the hollywood sign

with its 45 foot high white letters.

as i was mulling the idea over in

my mind i went to the fridge for a

drink and there on the door was my

concept – the fridge magnet’s were

ideal, and the figure shows how big

the love actually is!

you Make your own luck

You Make Your Own Luck came about one day when I caught sight of a penny on

the pavement. Coins are usually dull and tarnished but this one was gleaming

the sunshine, and seemed to be looking up at me from the pavement. It made me

think of the value of money, and this combined with the idea of the lucky penny

crystallized the concept in my mind. – It’s one of those essential life lessons that

sometimes you have to see the value in what is around you and make your own

luck rather than wait for things to happen.
