Livelihood Employment and Enterprise

Development – LEED

Youth Economic Empowerment Project

YEEP – Rojhan

Institute of Rural Management (IRM) has

signed a project with PPAF, namely

Livelihood Employment and Enterprise

Development – LEED. The project aims to

provide training to 2,596 target beneficiaries

of D.G Khan and Rajanpur.

Activities for the month of September

include meeting with DPOs Rajanpur and

DG Khan for LEED IP, coordination with

DPOs for finalization of trades and centers,

visit of UCs of District Rajanpur for field

centers, visit of different workshops for

apprenticeship training, meeting with LSOs

and hiring of building for LEED project in

DG Khan.

The durat ion of Youth Economic

Empowerment Project (YEEP) is from May

2014 to June 2017. In the whole project 600

beneficiaries of Rujhan will be trained in

different vocational trades. A total of 68

participants have been enrolled, of them 48

have completed their training in September

and remaining 19 will complete their training

in the month of November.

The duration of Gudi Baji Project is from May

2014 to December 2016. In this project 5,700

women of Attock, Bhakkar, Bhalwal, Jand,

Jhelum, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin,

Sohawa, Mianwali, Talagang and Sargodha

will be trained under Beautician training.

Training activities for the month of

September 2014 include the training of 22

women of Attock, 30 of Khushab, 25 of

Sargodha, 26 of Bhalwal, 23 of Bhakkar, 26

of Quaidabad and 31 of Mianwali. Other

activities include the establishment of centers

in Attock, Mandi Bahawaldin and Mianwali,

hiring of instructors for 12 new centers, pre-

training arrangements of all 7 centers and

meeting with NRSP to discuss Guddi Baji

Issues.

Guddi Baji Project

Next month's planning includes the training

of 300 women of different areas.

Livelihood Enhancement and Protection

(LEP) Extension project was started in April

2014. The project aims to provide Basic

Tailoring training to 135 women of KPK

region till May 2015. A total of 47

beneficiaries have been trained as of

September 2014.

Next month's planning include training of 50

women of Nowshera in Basic Tailoring.

Punjab Skills Development Fund funded

another 'Skills for Market Phase-II' project to

IRM on the same terms and conditions as of

phase-I. The project is in initial stage and

aims to train 500 women of district

Bahawalpur till March 2015. The project

achievements for the month of September

include advertisement for project staff and

other administrative tasks.

Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF)

project aims to provide vocational skills

training to the youth of conflict hit areas

across KP. A total of 80 participants, as pre

identification by IRD, are trained during the

month of September 2014.

Planning for the month of October includes

the training of 134 participants.

Salik Development Foundation (SDF)

SDF funded one month project to IRM. The

project aims to provide vocational skills

training to the youth of District Swabi. As

identified by SDF, IRM trained 28

participants during the month of September

2014.

During the month of September 2014 VTEC

Rawalpindi enrolled overall 252 participants,

of them 49 of BRSP and 62 of SUNGI project

completed their training in different

vocational trades during the month of

September, whereas 141 participants of Save

the Children project had enrolled and would

complete their training in October 2014.

meeting with PLAN and NRSP regarding

YEEP and field visit along with PLAN staff to

coordinate and inter act with trained youth of

YEEP and visit of TVETS institutes.

FATA-DA Entrepreneurship Training

The project's achievements for the month of

September include training of 200

participants, of them 125 have completed

their 7 days training in September and the rest

are enrolled and will complete their training

in October. This project aims to provide an

opportunity to the trained FATA youth, who

have gained experience through Field

Internship Programme, in setting up their

own business or getting employment.

Next month's planning include training of

300 participants.

Programme

IRD funded one year project to IRM. The

Monitoring of Capacity Building Phase II

Youth Economic Empowerment Project

Monitoring of Capacity Building Phase II is

funded by Italian Embassy to IRM. The

project aims to monitor UAP training

activities. The project achievements for the

month of September include preparation of

special monitoring form, monitoring of 18

training conducted by UAP and sharing of

monitoring report with Italian Embassy

Project office.

As part of the project deliverables, MoU with

local enterprises and employers were signed,

IEC material was developed, meeting with

employers providing input to TVET

instructions in designing competency and

prevailing technology based module was

conducted and provision of 50 toolkits to the

trained youth. Moreover, other activities of

YEEP Chakwal include monthly meetings

with NRSP, DMO PLAN along with Gender

focal person and Advocacy officer YEEP
