BDA1-HW1. GET TO KNOW YOUR MARKETING RESOURCES ASSIGNMENT: Identify a local Marketing Professional in your region or branch and set up a 15-minute call to learn more about their job responsibilities. If you are already very familiar with your local marketing professional, reach out to someone in the Central Marketing and Sales Support (CMSS) organization or one of our marketing professionals that support our national initiatives. Find out:

• What they spend their time doing• Who they work with most often (practitioners and other regional or centralized marketing professionals)• Tips on how and when you can best work together• What you can do to help them be more effective

DOCUMENTATION: Provide name of marketing person contacted along with the date and time of conversation.Document one take-away from your conversation.

MENTOR: Review & discuss notes with the student, answer any questions about marketing resources at the branch, regional, or national level.

BDA1-HW2. CREATE A QUICK QUAL (QQ) ASSIGNMENT: An attorney has reached out to you asking about a service which is not in your practice area. They would like some information on our capabilities by the end of the day to see if they’d like to talk to us further about a challenge facing their best client in a market sector that is new to you. Sensing a potential opportunity for us, pick a service area not in your area of expertise and a relevant market sector that you’d like to learn more about which fits this scenario. Create a QQ for this attorney that includes the service area, market sector, 1-2 Project Descriptions, and 2 Resumes.

DOCUMENTATION: Upload the QQ to the LMS and provide your mentor with your choice of market sector and service area for the QQ.

MENTOR: Review the QQ to see that it includes resumes and PDs that are appropriate for the service area and market sector chosen. Suggest other relevant QQ materials if any. Ask the student to explain what they learned about this practice area and its relevance to their own, and how comfortable they are with the QQ process to assemble information for clients.

BDA1-HW3. IDENTIFY A CDI/MSI/HGA CONNECTION ASSIGNMENT: Identify a CDI, MSI, and/or HGA that is relevant with the Attorney inquiry from BDA1-HW1. Find out when their next internal call is scheduled and sit in on one of their cadence calls to learn more. Take notes during the call. If a cadence call doesn’t take place, reach out to the content facilitator on the relevant SharePoint site and ask about the current status of the BD Initiative.

DOCUMENTATION: Provide name, date, and time of call attended or content facilitator contacted.

MENTOR: Review & discuss takeaways from the call or contact. Discuss what questions could be asked of the group to help with the Attorney inquiry.

BDA1-HW4. LEVERAGE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE ASSIGNMENT: Update your LinkedIn profile using the key pointers from the lesson. Share six Geosyntec-related posts (at least one repost and one original) within the next month. If you are not sure how best to do this, please reach out to Jamie Raper or Bobby Kreiner for guidance.

DOCUMENTATION: Upload screenshot of your profile with at least one share of a Geosyntec post, and a post you have created on your own using our website or other materials.

MENTOR: Review profile and shares. Discuss any improvements or suggestions especially for key words.

BDA1-HW5. GET FAMILIAR WITH SHAREPOINT ASSIGNMENT: Use Client Quick List and export our projects with TVA. Download a copy of our Master Service Agreement with TVA. Search the PD Library for Tennessee Valley Authority and download a copy of the project de- scription related to data management of a series of reservoirs.

DOCUMENTATION: Upload project list, a screen shot of the first page of the MSA document, and the Project Description to the LMS.

MENTOR: Discuss the assignment and answer any questions about getting familiar with clients.

BDA1-HW6. YOUR RESUME AND HEADSHOT ASSIGNMENT: Search for your name in the Resumes and Headshots SharePoint page. Is your latest master resume and headshot available in your folder? Do either need to be updated?

DOCUMENTATION: Upload your current resume (updated within the last year) and recent professional headshot to LMS (and of course to SharePoint). If you haven’t updated your headshot within the past five years, now is the time to do so!

MENTOR: Review the student’s resume and provide suggestions for possible updates or improvements to focus on key skills.

BDA1-MM1. HGA IMPLEMENTATION PLANS(IP) ASSIGNMENT: Pick an HGA and review its Implementation Plan. Discuss it with your mentor using these 3 “thought” questions:

• What factors do you think make it a high growth area based on the Implementation Plan?• What questions do you have about the plan?• Can you identify any target clients in your area for the HGA?

DOCUMENTATION: Provide brief responses to each of the questions.

MENTOR: Discuss the student’s answers to the questions above. Share your experiences with any HGAs that you’vebeen involved with and determine if there are next steps to be taken by the student to learn more.
