Dear Parishioners,

This Sunday’s readings remind us that as baptized persons of faith, we are to work on the virtue of humility. Humility reminds us that God is infinite in His love and goodness. All that we have comes from God. Work is a gift from God. When we offer our work to help another or to benefit the good of society, we give honor to God. God has also blessed us with our gifts and talents so that we might share them with one another. Here in our parish, the potential to use these gifts is great! Just think…if everyone who is already active in our parish would ask someone new to be active, what could be accomplished! So what are you waiting for? Please pray, ask someone to get involved in our parish, and keep after them! There are people just waiting to be asked by you, waiting to take their turn at getting involved in some way within our parish.

As we pause this Labor Day for some recreation and relaxation, let us not forget to thank God for our gifts, our strength, our intelligence and our maturity in using the gift of work in society and in the Church. Let us ask God to help us to return to Our Creator the gifts He has blessed us through our labor and our vocation. And please, encourage others to participate in the ongoing work within our parish.

I want to thank all who labor here in our parish giving of themselves for the good of all. Thank you for your hard work and for helping to evangelize. Fr. Wade Bass and I wish you a blessed and relaxing Labor Day.

In Christ,Fr. Guadagnoli

We are St. Monica! Thank you for your participation in the celebration of the feast of St. Monica. During the 40 hours of Eucharistic Adoration we had around 400 adorers, with more than 500 attending the Mass in her honor. Thank you for making this a memorable and special day for our patron, St. Monica. We are looking forward celebrate next year with joy and new ideas!

Nosotros somos Santa Monica!
