    Description: Three different possible logos for the company, Robin Photography.

    Programs: Adobe Illustrator

    Course: Comm 130 Section 03

    Instructor: Cory Kerr

    Objectives: Create a unique and memorable logo to distinguish Robin Photographyform other companies using Adobe Illustrator.

    Process: I began by sketching out ideas and narrowing it down to the top threedesigns. The logos were designed in the order they sit, top to bottom. I used the type tool to

    write ROBIN, created outlines, and deleted the O as well as shortened the I. I added a red

    rectangle over the I. I created a circle, copied it, and pasted it 6 times, 60 degrees apart, in

    a circle. Using the shape builder tool, I deleted extra parts and combind the parts that make

    the apperture. I used the brush tool to create the shape of the bird as well as the belly. The

    beak and eyes were created using the shape tools. Photography was added and spaced to

    create alignment.

    The second logo was made using a series of circles which were divided and combind using

    the shape builder tool. The eyes and beak were made using the shape tools. The belly was

    separated using a brush stroke that was outlined and deleted using the shape builder tool.

    Text was added and shaped into an arch to match the circle it is placed on.

    The third logo was made using the type tool writing ROBIN and Photography. They were

    each shaped into an arch. ROBIN was outlined and anchor points were shifted to extend

    some ascenders and decenders. An egg was created using the elipse tool and convert anchor

    points tool. spots were added to the egg using the brush tool.

    Instructor: Cory Kerr

    Objectives: Create a flier that clearly represents the conference and informs theintended audience about the purpose, time, and place.

    Process: After creating several sketches of possible designs, I asked a number of peoplewhich design they found most visually appealing. After a clear consensus, I re-created the

    chosen design digitally, using Adobe InDesign. I wanted it to be simple and clear, while still

    unique. To do this I used a simple line and three circle design that appears under the title and

    the bottom of the design to bring the elements together. I used the circle tool to create three

    circles and the line tool to create the line. I then copied and rotated the image to place it at

    the bottom of the page as well. I designed the title so that Graduate was bigger than the

    other words to appeal to the intended audience, recent and upcoming graduates. I also made

    the words competitive edge bigger within the hook question to add intrigue as well as to play

    on the words because making them bigger gave those words a competitive edge. I used white

    space, font size, and alignment to create a design that is visually appealing, clear, and easy for

    eyes to follow. The image, logo, and content was provided to me.

    Description: Edited personal photo on a background.

    Programs: Adobe Photoshop

    Objectives: Take quality photos using photography skills. Edit the chosen photo inphotoshop and create a background that coordinates design and color scheme.

    Process: Using my knowledge of photography I captured several images and then chosemy favorite. I adjusted the levels and vibrancy to produce a darker, more mysterious image.

    I added a mask to the image to blend the edges gradually. I added a brown background.

    to balance the color and shape of the lamp, I added an orange circle and a layer of

    texture overtop and lowered the opacity of the texture. I added a brown circle to match the

    background and added type in the orange of the bigger circle. I added the MLK quote and

    bolded certain words to add emphasis.

    Objectives: Use masking layers to blend together two or more images which cometogether to send a message.

    Process: I opened the bottom image in photoshop. I placed the Cherish the momentimage in the bottom corner and added a mask. I then used the black brush to hide the

    edges. I desreased the opacity and gradually blended parts of the image.

    I added an image of three hearts and did the same thing. I then added a bluring fliter to the

    hearts to smooth them out.

    Description: A brochure for the company, Twisted Silver, describing the history of thecompany and detailing why people should buy that jewelry.

    Programs: Adobe Ilustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop

    Course: Comm 130 Section 03

    Instructor: Cory Kerr

    Objectives: Create a duplex brochure including at least 3 images, a text wrap, a newlogo, and 250 words of text.

    Process: I began by sketching designes for the brochure and for the new logo. Then Ibegan the logo creation in Illustrator. I used an image of a fork to trace shapes and joined them

    using the shape builder. I used the type tool for the letters and a brush tool for the twists.

    I took the cover image and made several versions in Photoshop. One is black and white with

    a masked color layer on top which is revealed only over the jewelry to give the earing and

    necklace color on the B&W background. Another color version of the same image was cropped

    around the girls figure and then the crop lines were smoothed.

    Exact measurements were taken and ruler lines were drawn in an InDesign document. The

    pictures and logo were then placed accordingly. The inside-left and back cover photos

    were placed. Background colors were eyedropped from the leaves and hair from the inside-

    left image. The twist from the logo was added in the colors of the backgrounds to create

    repetition.

    A recycling image was cropped in Photoshop to dispense the white background and the image

    was placed in the InDesign document. Text had been pre-written by studying the companys

    website and writing about what I learned. That text was added to the document and the back

    text was wraped around the recycling image.

    About the CompanyTwisted Silver started as a hobby, making key chains and picture stands from old,

    silver forks, hence the company name. This hobby was

    not to last long, though, as Debra Mitchell began

    to dabble in recycled metals and chains to create

    jewelry pieces. Recognizing the worthwhile and

    protable products she had created, Debra

    started producing on a larger level. Do not

    be deceived, though, each piece is sll

    hand craed by employees in the USA.

    Today, Twisted Silver is the jewelry to

    watch. Seen on a number of celebries

    Celeb page connues to grow each day as

    more celebries are noced wearing Debras

    Objectives: Create a business card with a corresponding letterhead. Include a name,number, and address.

    Process:I created the red and black squares to represent the front and back of thecard. I typed ROBIN and created outlines. I then used the elipse tool to create a belly

    and used the pathfinder tool to divide those shapes. I made the belly part of the word red.

    I typed Morgan Photography and adjusted the tracking to align it with ROBIN above. I

    used the elipse tool to create a circle and copied it six times, 60 degrees apart, around it. I

    then used the shape builder tool to delete unnecessary parts and ended up with the aperture

    shape. The rest is type.

    Objectives: Create a letterhead with a corresponding business card. Include a name,number, and address.

    Process: I used the Robin Morgan Photography peice from the business card andoutlined Morgan Photography in a darker color to make it more visible. I used the contact

    information from the business card and sized it to align with the ROBIN Morgan Photography

    I made that type blue. I added a stroke underneath those two elements to join them and

    clearly mark the heading. I took the aperture shape from the business card and pasted it in

    the bottom corner. I reduced the opacity to make it a watermark.

    MBEvent Ad

    Description:Event ad for a book swap and sale which will raise money for the Library.

    Programs: Word Processor

    Date: 18.May.2014

    Course: Comm 130 Section 03

    Instructor: Cory Kerr

    Objectives: Scan an image and create an ad around that image that will produce income.

    Process: I made several drafts of this project including several different scannedimages. I settled upon the scan of a Jane Austen book cover. Because the scanner was not

    big enough for the entire cover, I scanned the book in three images: front, spine, and back.

    I aligned these images in a word document and decided to widen the cover scan to fit most

    of the page. I created rectangles to cover the pre-existing text on the book, matching the

    color as close as possible to the cover. I added my desired text over the boxes where the

    natural text of the book previously was. I matched my font choices as close as possible to the

    original book. I used the eyedropper tool to select colors already in use on the book cover.

    I took the Madison Library logo and cropped the circular image from the rest of the type. I

    added a green filter over the image to match its color to the book cover. I added a gradual

    blend to the edges of the logo and placed it where the publishers logo was situated.

    Objectives: Create a webpage to display and explian the logo for Robin MorganPhotography. Use HTML and CSS. Add a link to my portfolio blog.

    Process: I was provided with a template page. I changed the color of the background,border, heading background, headings, and text. I inserted my own image, centered it, and

    added padding above it. I made the border thick instead of thin. I changed the heading and

    body fonts. I added a slight outline to Heading 1. The body text and heading text were

    changed, and some were made strong (bold). My own link was added. Alternative colors

    were added to the CSS document as commentary, but are not seen expressed on the

    webpage.
