Wexford, Ireland - Clayton Whites Hotel

Wexford Along with Waterford, County Wexford belongs to the part of Ireland referred to as the ‘Sunny South East.’ With their pleasant weather and fine sandy beaches, resorts such as Rosslare Strand and Courtown are popular holiday destinations. The county is located in the south-east corner of the island of Ireland. It is bound-ed by the sea on two sides—on the south by the Atlantic Ocean and on the east by St. George's Channel and the Irish Sea. The Rosslare Europort Ferry is an ex-tremely convenient way for international visitors to access Wexford. You can also visit Baginbun Beach (where the Normans landed in 1169) or the old-est lighthouse in Europe, on Hook Peninsula. There are several excellent golf courses throughout County Wexford. The Blackstairs Mountains are ideal for climbing and walking. Angling and canoeing are popular activities in this County. The town is linked to Dublin by the M11/N11 National Primary Route, and the national rail network. Venues: The East coast venues are shallow sandy beaches with patches of gravel to the South the beaches are steeper with a mixture of sand and gravel patches.
